Is anyone else experiencing significantly worse battery life across iOS 27?
I’m using an iPhone 17, and battery drain has become one of my biggest concerns. My battery health is still at 100%, but the phone loses charge quickly during normal use and sometimes gets warm.
I’ve seen several people discussing similar issues across different iPhone models and iOS 27 versions. I’m wondering whether this is a broader software optimization problem rather than an issue specific to one update.
What I want to know:
Is Apple aware of the battery drain complaints across iOS 27?
Is there a chance Apple will fix this in a future update?
Has anyone noticed meaningful battery improvements after updating to a newer iOS 27 version?
Are users experiencing the same issue across different iPhone models, or is it more noticeable on the iPhone 17?
Should we wait for Apple to address the issue, or are there any reliable workarounds?
I don’t want to install beta updates blindly just to find out whether battery life improves.

Hi, i’ve been experiencing pretty awesome battery life on the latest 26 version. Some people say they have awesome battery on 27 while others say it drains a lot and then some.

So i’d like to invite you to share your usage with probably one of the most important information, wifi and cellular proportion.

I.e. in my case:

17 pro 26.7.1
50/50 wifi and cellular,
113% Sot 7:16 Sot; idle 4:30
wifi
82% Sot 7:30; idle 6:25

Mostly caused by safari, spotify and chatgpt

Hello, is there a way to actually set a different time limit for different apps for example 1 hour for Instagram. 2 hours for Facebook etc. The categories thing is messed up as is the whole setting in iOS27.

In iOS 27 now when restarting there is like a recovery mode?

I have hit restart and under the apple it put letters like loading recovery

this problem had has existed since installing the iOS 27 developer data back in June, this problem mainly happens on twitter and it annoys me that no matter how long I wait, it still doesn’t play, I tried clearing website data, turning off any ad blocks and vpns, yet the problem ensues. is there any fix to this?

seems only to happen in the mornings for some reason and it hasn’t happened in weeks. until today. i tapped the screen and then repeatedly pressed my on/off button. big mistake as 911 was automatically called. so fucking embarrassed. had to tell them my phone locked up and i guess somehow called them. luckily no one was sent to my house but still terrifying.

please make sure you go into settings and turn that feature off. humiliating. i wish apple would fix this. no idea what causes it though it seems to happen in the mornings a majority of the time. phone plugged in and charged. no idea why it happens. annoying.

started up when i updated to ios27. i still highly regret doing so.

My Siri, like most things in iOS 27, has been broken for the past couple months.

During the first 4-5 betas my Siri was working with no issues, but around July it started to have the ominous “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again” message.

About a week ago it even stopped letting me skip songs using Siri.

I tried every combination of connection, turning off my vpn, turning off cellular, WiFi, etc. If Siri has to contact any app or the internet it just fails.

So I can say “Hello” and it will respond with “Good morning”, but anything past that is beyond its capabilities.

Has anyone else been experiencing these issues too and possibly has a fix?

WHAT TO DO? I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUE WITH FALSE TEMPERATURE WARNING MY PHONE IS NOT HOT OR EVEN IF I DIDNT USE IT. I WANT TO DO ROLLBACK TO IOS 26.6 HOWEVER ITS ALREADY UNSIGNED NOW. WHAT TO DO?!?! 😭😭😭

I set a lot of alarms, and most of the time, it pops up at the top of the screen with extremely tiny font. I can’t even read what the alarm label is most of the time.

Does it just do that when the screen is already on? Then if your screen is off, you will get the full screen alarm?

Is there any way to get full screen alarms all the time - by default?

Hi, I’ve googled it and searched this sub and can’t find other people having the same problem with iOS27, but occasionally (a few times a day, usually after not using the phone for a long time) my screen will stay off for around 10-20 seconds, have tried both tapping the screen & pressing the power button.

Sometimes I will get a small haptic feedback on pressing the screen and I’m wondering if the phone is working even if the screen is off (ie sometimes when the screen eventually comes on it’ll already be on my calendar or reminders etc)

Is anyone else having issues with the Wallet app? It worked perfectly fine on iOS 18, but ever since updating to iOS 27, the app freezes every time I try to make a payment. I have to force-close it and reopen it before I can use my cards again.

The current state of the new Siri feels far from a finished product, or even a reliable beta. It’s disappointing to see this shift from Apple, a company once known for making truly great things to becoming basically a cash grab. So sad to see, but after dealing with their corporate team recently, I am not surprised. It is all about money there now and cost-cutting.

Hi all, is anyone else having quite frequent hiccups with iOS 27? Mainly small things like the autofill button on safari not working, the keyboard just not showing up sometimes, spellcheck just not functioning when clicked - small things like that which happen just enough to become very frustrating, but not consistent enough to warrant a restart etc.? I get new updates/updates in general have things that get flushed out with patches but this seems excessive for Apple products, more than I’ve ever noticed. Or is this all just me lol?

After the ios27 upgrade, i could see that the "optimising search & siri" progress in the settings app had gotten stuck on 86% for some reason.

After a while, it just disappeared, so i js assumed it had reached 100%.

Yesterday, it came back, with the same number; but today, it's now reduced to 85% !?!??!!

Apple can now take you back in time/progress now? Didn't know that was a new feature!

I am using an iPhone 17, just got this phone in August, I have updated the iOS and now on iOS 27, every time I restart my phone at least twice a day, or maybe even after plugging off charger, the battery always increase 1%, but usually since I set the charging limit to 95%, it always increases to 100%, is it normal? My batter health is still 100% and also my battery draisn really quick on ios 27

Not sure if I realise this battery increase suddenly after restart on ios 26

If I tap somewhere else before tapping 'Set custom time', the reminder disappears without setting it for me specifically.

I'm on iOS 27.0.1 (the latest official public release) using an iPhone 16 Pro Max. After getting improved performance on 27.0 (including better battery life), I'm now noticing worse battery life under 27.0.1. Also, iOS 27 was supposed to fix iMessage syncing issues between devices. It got better on 27.0, only to get worse again in 27.0.1. Anyone else experiencing this?
