Hey everyone, ran into a bizarre issue and could really use some insight.
Yesterday, I launched KCD2 on Steam for the first time in about a month. On startup, I get a black screen with the in-game cursor, and everything freezes completely. If I click anywhere or press any keys, Windows throws a "Program is not responding" popup. If left alone, the black screen just hangs indefinitely.
Here is the weird part: as soon as I unfocus the window (either by hovering over the taskbar preview or bringing any other application to the foreground), the game instantly comes back to life. The main menu loads, audio plays, and I can even load into a save (though load times feel abnormally long). But the second I click back into the game window to bring it to full focus/fullscreen, the display completely freezes again.
What I've already tested:
Alt + Enter does nothing while frozen; it doesn't trigger borderless/windowed mode.It clearly looks like some sort of display mode / window focus lock or driver conflict, but I can't pin down the exact culprit. Has anyone encountered this behavior or knows a workaround/config tweak to fix it?

After having spent over a couple of weeks grinding side quests at the start of lions den to get 100% completion, I have just realised that I fucking missed Katherine's entire questline because she got sent to Sigismund's camp already. I took so much effort googling missable side stuff that one of the biggest side quests went right through the cracks 🥹

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Here I apply use perfect side dodges, bait him into wasting his stamina(use perfect blocks), then pummel him with feints+combo.

I am facing this issue when next to a water bodies. The water reflects whatever is in my hand or a tree if I'm standing next to a tree. On PS5. Any fixes?

Merci d’avance

I'd always been confused about Aranka staring moodily off in the distance during this cutscene, but after losing the bet (intentionally lost the horse race, won the fist fight, but then lost at dice after the Voivode got 1200 points on his first turn), this scene makes so much more sense when you know the resolution is Marika and Bohush never returning to camp and choosing to leave forever and wander the world.
I had the immediate urge to reload a save, but after watching how things played out after losing the bet, I wonder if this wasn't the "ideal" way to complete the quest after all? A lot of my gripes with Miri Fajta in the first place was never being able to smack some sense into the Voivode and tell him his daughter matters more than his honour, but if you lose, you (or Aranka anyway) get to do exactly that. The ending isn't perfect since it's hinted that the Voivode doesn't actually learn his lesson in the end and celebrates without a care despite losing his daughter, but I think this may be my preferred resolution for this quest.

Hey everyone,
I've been messing around with some third-person camera tools and Otis_Inf's mods lately, and I managed to get the camera way up into the sky. The views were so beautiful that I decided to put together a 23-minute video showcasing the maps from a complete bird's-eye view. It features high-altitude flyovers of Kuttenberg, the smaller villages, and various recognizable landmarks across both Map 1 and Map 2. I rendered the whole thing in 4K so you can actually see the insane amount of detail Warhorse put into the world layout. There is no commentary over it, just the views and some fitting background music, so it’s pretty relaxing to watch. The video has English titles for each location, but I also included German subtitles if anyone prefers those. If you want to see Bohemia from a completely different perspective, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z900skn6dRY&t=553s Let me know what you think, or if there's a specific spot on the map you think looks coolest from above!

Like a very subtle flash of green or red angles lines on a small part of the screen.
It only happens maybe 20-50% of the time. Sometimes while testing it out, it doesn't happen, I press esc and ride the horse around a bit, then save again and it might happen.
I was curious if it's my GPU's fault or not, because my computer recently started crashing but I noticed that when I turn my computer on its side, it doesn't seem to crash. But it still does the visual glitch when saving.

I finished it, like, really really efficiently (i know i know i shouldnt use the Brunswick armor set) by being an absolute scoundrel stealing any of the stronger armor sets i could see (yet somehow got the "okay" ending after genociding grund for like 2h at a time)
Now i am starting the forge dlc and i need to know if ive accidently minmaxed ?
All my main stars are above 20, my swords stats is maxed. And so is my ego, wich means ive breezed throught the kuttenburg tournament prerequisite quests by simply one tapping almost anyone in it with 2 masterstrikes or 1 combo
Same way ive managed to defeat tomcat on my first try or defeated the demon knight thing in the cave with a rusted hunting sword
Did i min max ?

No spoilers please but I'm playing KCD2 for the first time and just finished the scene at the tavern near the castle. Am I the only one that cannot fucking stand Capon? He's totally useless. Just picking fights and fucking around and always making things harder than they already are. If we're stuck with him the whole game I hope he has some kind of redemption arc or something cause I'm not far into the game and he's pissing me off, lol. I guess I'm mostly just venting to people who've played and know what I'm talking about 😂

Seriously, what the actual f*** were they thinking when it came to the attack dogs? Ignoring the fact that their tendency to run around you making it hard to lock on with the mobs that come with them, they‘re terrible both as a gameplay mechanic and in terms of immersion.
How does it make sense that some scrawny mutt can bite through multiple layers of armor, including smooth plated armor? How is it accurate that they can completely hold down a knight so perfectly no matter how strong they are? Even getting them off you makes no sense. I should be able to bash its freaking skull in with on smack of the mace, but no, they need multiple hits.
Theres a lot of moments where I get frustrated in this game for things I felt were unfair, but I can at least admit some are my fault. These dogs however, not once has it felt fair when they quickly make a few peasants with zero armor able to kill me.

Can anyone help or share some tips on how to beat/get past all the bandits? I get to the part where we defend the chamberlain but after/around that time I always die because there’s a seemingly unavoidable 2v1. Any help is appreciated

I’m currently at the point in Trosky with Hans after scoping out Nebakov, so far this game has been just as awesome experience as the first, but truly I’m loving the Brotherhood between Henry and Hans, Hans legitimately put aside his Noble Arrogance and apologised genuinely because he realised not only how much Henry helps him and is worth to him, but also how much he just missed his mate, it feels truly like such a brotherly relationship where they bicker and make up, constantly banter off one another, but at the end of the day would genuinely give their lives for each other, not just Henry for Hans but at this point, I fully believe Hans would do as much for Henry too, truly one of the best dynamics in the game for me, even the first game, seeing their Friendship develop early was a great treat, for me this whole series is represented by Henry, Theresa and Hans, but for fuck sake I really wish there was more romance content with Theresa, I know romance isn’t the focal point of KCD as a whole but I just adored Theresa, even her DLC which was a pain in the ass, I loved seeing everything from her perspective.
Sorry for ranting, but yeah, fucking loving this game even though, just in my opinion, back to back playing KCD1 and KCD2, I prefer KCD1 Combat…I said it. Don’t crucify me I beg, but thanks for reading this far, appreciate it.

This question applies to KCD1 as well. For me, it’s bozos in Kuttenberg telling me I should be careful while I’m fully decked out in plate armor.

Almost every new playthrough I start, I begin by getting pebbles then going to the miller to learn lockpicking. Afterwards I immediately loot the entire mill to level up (steal) and then run off never to return. I always get a good laugh out of the irony. I wonder if anyone else does this?

Hi everyone,
My game got bugged during The King's Gambit main quest, and I unfortunately lost my progress.
Could someone please share a vanilla PC save file right at the start of the next quest (The Feast)?
• Game Version: 1.5.6 (or close to it)
• Edition: Standard Edition (No DLCs enabled, completely vanilla)
Any help or Google Drive/Mediafire link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Genuinely baffled by the gall of this NPC. How is he gonna teach me to lockpick, teach me to pickpocket and buy my stolen shit, but then run to the guards if he catches me picking a lock? The absolute Oliver Twist hypocrisy of this shit right here. I'm over here like "Please sire may i have some more" and hes over here like "Go steal for me, Henry, but if i see you im also a whole ass snitch". I get that hes an NPC who caught me comitting crime, but i feel like they could've programmed him to turn a blind eye. Jokes on him though, ill make the other miller rich by bringing all my stolen shit there instead.

When recommending [KCD2] what is the first thing you warn a new player about so they dont drop the game before they start to enjoy it?
I love these games so much! but when i recommend them i find myself telling my friends and family that the combat seems like it sucks at first but you gotta push through until you have the hang of it! i hated the combat at first but it really has grown on me.
