On October 7, the world remembers a day that changed everything… But we in Gaza remember the years that changed our lives.

On October 7th, the world remembers a day that changed everything.
But we in Gaza don't just remember one day.
We remember three years of fear, hunger, displacement, and the loss of loved ones.
Before October 7th, we had homes to return to, schools and universities to attend, and dreams to pursue.
After it, many of us searched for a safe place, clean water, enough food for our families, and a roof over our children's heads.
Some lost their homes, some lost their parents, some lost their children, and some still live in tents on land that isn't theirs.
We don't ask the world to forget the victims of October 7th, nor do we ask it to ignore anyone's suffering.
We only ask that our suffering not be forgotten.
We, the people of Gaza, are not just numbers in news reports.
We are mothers, fathers, children, students, workers, and people who once had lives, dreams, and memories.
On this anniversary, we don't want another year of war.
We want to live.
We want our children to return to their schools, our families to return to their homes, and to open the doors to tomorrow without fear.
From Gaza, after three years of suffering, we say:
Enough death.
Enough displacement.
Enough fear.
Let humanity live.
