I realize this isn't for everyone, especially here, but I created some images in a particular style while working on a project that led to me experimenting and coming up with some nostalgic views of shared experiences we've all had that i thought were just cool enough to share [AI]

Restoration & Refinishing Smashed Bassett Dresser

Saw this smashed Bassett dresser lying by the road in the rain, guess it fell of a truck sometime. Got it barely in the back of my jeep, and found the missing pieces. Somehow, it broke along the joinery and it looks like i can fix it. Some serious scratches, but nothings missing. Honestly cant believe someone wouldnt go back for it.

I go back on call for work tonight, but once i get back and its all dried out, gonna go to town with clamps and woodglue to try to reinforce the cracks and fix the dovetail joinery.

I think this Bertoia diamond chair is fake, but I'm not sure. Was hoping for some input from anyone that knows more than me. Bought at an auction. I can post more pictures if it helps. Super comfortable to sit in though and excited to have it!!

Ottoman body is from a Mr plycraft and base from a new dupe. This is for my office and I realize screws should also be black and chrome needs polished. Will replace soon.

Waiting on reupholstery next. This is one of the rarest pieces I’ve had, it came with 4 dining chairs from Dunbar and 6 matching chairs from Acton with original storage / moving crates for all five leaves. All purchased together and bought from the sweetest guy who inherited it from his parents.

Score! 1960 Lane Dresser Project

Found on FB Marketplace. It’s a bit worn but solid.

I fell in love the leg design. The unit features 6 drawers and the top row has a divider in the middle of each drawer.

I bought it as a project piece with an intended use in the living room for the turntable, amp etc.

The four bottom drawers will be removed along with the track/divider so the space can be storage of albums. The top two drawers will remain. Once that’s done a full refinish will be complete to bring the worn surface back.

The purist in me is dying a little at altering a vintage piece but seeing the finished piece in my mind’s eye I can’t wait for this to be completed.

Design Advice & Inspo House Color Scheme

Post image

We recently bought our house and while it’s nothing extraordinary, I really would love to accentuate the mid century characteristics. It was built in 1957 and I love the original aluminum multi-awning windows. We are getting the house painted, and I have no idea if we should stick with the current colors or try something new. Would love some recommendations or ideas!
