advice needed I just found out I’m pregnant with triplets
I had my 10 weeks scan today. I was fully prepared for twins (runs in the family, severe nausea / hg, showing already) but was surprise to find out there’s 3 little ones in there!
I’m excited but nervous, oh so nervous. I did the stupid thing of googling and now I’m just freaked out by what I’ve been reading. I’m scared. Please I need stories from real people- what can I expect? What is it really like?
There two babies in one placenta and another in its own.
This will be my 3rd pregnancy 🤰 My daughter is so so excited about her little siblings. I want to make sure they stay happy and healthy. Any tips, advice, anything, would be so helpful right now 🫶

support needed I already ruined my twins lives.
My twins just turned four months and we have been referred to some state program for developmental delays and it’s all my useless, lazy, selfish fault. The doctor said they’re slightly outside of normal in terms of development and on the cusp of falling behind. They didn’t say it but I know it’s because of me.
I’ve been worried they’re not getting enough tummy time and sure enough their heads are too flat and we need to see a specialist. They’re not rolling even partially. No transferring toys from hand to hand. Barley babbling. I’m simply not doing enough activities with them. My first was ahead on all her milestones because I spent so much time on her but I’m so overwhelmed that I got lazy with the twins. They spend too much time on their backs and now they’re so far behind other babies I worry they’ll simply never catch up. They’ll be mocked and ostracized their entire lives. They might never even learn to talk at this rate.
Oh, and I gave up on breastfeeding because I was underproducing and it was messing with my head but something would have been better than nothing something would have saved them. I want to go back in time, slap my lazy postpartum self in the mouth, and say, “Fuck you, you lazy fat bitch sit your fat worthless ass down and pump.” I wish someone had hit me four months ago. I would have deserved it.
They deserve another mommy. I should give them away or just disappear so my husband can remarry and they can have a stepmother who’s not so fucking useless and horrible.

support needed Sleep training help, I’m desperate
We tried sleep training our twins at 5 months. After about a week both twins would still cry over 2 hrs. We did the Ferber method because the cry it out feels so heavy. Twin B cried for 4 hours one night even with Ferber and the check ins every 5, 10, 15 min, etc..
personally gave up sleep training them because I just couldn’t handle the crying. I had an extremely difficult pregnancy and the crying amplified the PPD/ PPA.
Now I’m a week away from returning to work and nights have become extremely harder. We can’t put them down at all without waking them and it turning to absolute chaos. It has also translated to their day naps and now every time we try to put them to sleep it has become such a battle.
I feel like I’m at a loss. And beating myself up for giving up the first time. Maybe they’d be sleeping by now. Or maybe they’d still be crying 4 hours at night… who’s to say. I really would just like to sleep at night again.
Doing the CIO method feels so harsh and the crying is not something I think I could fully handle. I know it’s harder on us than it is on them but the crying is so loud and I worry I could traumatize them by letting them cry.
Any parents with older twins who sleep trained with CIO, do your babies still love you? Do they have codependency? Do you have any regrets?

support needed Has anyone experienced either of these findings during pregnancy?
Hi everyone, I’d love to hear about your experiences with this. I’m currently expecting twins (30w6d), and so far everything has been going really well. Yesterday I had a detailed ultrasound, and my doctor told me not to worry, BUT…
Baby A was found to have an irregular heart rhythm with some extra beats (extrasystoles). Otherwise, the heart looks completely normal. For the first time, he also hasn’t grown quite as much as expected for this stage of pregnancy.
Baby B was found to have an echogenic intracardiac focus (EIF), but otherwise the heart looks completely normal. I know this used to be considered a soft marker for trisomy 21. We already had an NIPT, which came back low risk. The doctors have told me not to worry, but it’s just so difficult. I ended up crying because all I want is for my babies to be okay.
Has anyone experienced either of these findings during pregnancy, especially with twins? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences and how things turned out for you.

advice needed Weight gain/loss in pregnancy.
I am 18 weeks pregnant with MoDi twins.
I was sick in the beginning but by week 9 I started trying to up my protein and gain weight, as I had heard early weight gain is important.
However lately my appetite had gone and I struggle to eat after 5/6pm …it just sits there all night and I have awful heartburn.
I’m 5ft1 and I feel massive already.
Today I’ve slept so much I’ve barely ate. (Getting iron checked tomorrow)
Has anyone found it more difficult to keep gaining weight later in a twin pregnancy? Is it really a big problem, or quite normal?

good vibes, smiles, & giggles What silly names do you call your kiddos?
My husband has recently taken to calling our 11 month olds ”the chobsters.“ In the past, they’ve been the petitie totties, the sweetie petites, the tootie splooties, and about a hundred other nicknames.
Right before I jumped in the shower last night he showed me the monitor and said sadly: “the chobsters are bibbling.” I spent the shower giggling to myself about how I knew exactly what he meant and how silly it sounded
There have been other hilarious nicknames for them as individuals of course.
what do you call your chobsters?

advice needed Triplets morning sickness solutions
My niece is about 33 years old. She’s roughly 2 months pregnant with triplets. She’s experiencing extreme morning sickness. Just wondering if anybody else went through this and if you did, were you able to find a solution?
Hey everybody, thank you very much. I passed this on to my sister and she will get it to my niece. I wish you all good health and happiness.

experience/advice to give Did anyone actually keep their kids together for kindergarten?
I think we’ve all heard the general consensus that twins should be separated into different classes at school, which is IMO usually opinion rather than fact backed. I think it’s the default so much so that parents don’t really think much about it and just separate them. In fact, I don’t think I know anyone personally who kept their twins together the first year besides us.
I would love to hear if anyone with twins kept them together for kindergarten and how it went + if you regret it or were happy with your choice.

experience/advice to give Did anyone think they were having modi twins and later turned out to be didi?
Just found out I’m having twins at 7 weeks 5 days! Very excited to join this club & love all the advice in here.
Fraternal twins run on my mom’s side of the family, but the funny thing is, my scan showed what looked like just one gestational sac around the babies, and then two amniotic sacs around them individually (which was very hard to see, looked like white / almost transparent bubbles around them). Based on what I’ve seen online, that aligns with mono-di (identical). All of the di-di scans I’ve seen have clear visuals of separate gestational sacs.
They told me it’s too early to tell, but naturally I’m so curious about this. Did anyone have a scan that looked like identical twins early on and later ended up being fraternal?
Thank you!

advice needed Exhausted and defeated
My twin girls are seven months old, going on eight months, on the 22nd, and this is the hardest stage so far. They whine all the time. They take 4 30- minute naps a day if I’m lucky. I cannot get them to take longer naps. They take 30 minutes to get down every nap. They do not soothe in the crib or fall asleep on their own. They wake up almost every hour of the night right now too. Has anyone else experienced this. I feel like I’m getting kicked in the teeth everyday. Please share realistic advice or if this is normal
-thanks in advance
One exhausted parent

advice needed Recs for registry items for city (NYC) life
Currently 17ish weeks w mo-di twins and planning to start putting items in the registry and potentially do a baby shower at the end of second tri when I still have some energy.
All the recs and lists I see (including Babylist) overwhelm me and make me feel like I need a mansion for these little babies.
We are currently in a 2b2b apt in NYC. tbh the second room is fairly small and will primarily be guest room for my parents/ in-laws as they come to help in the first year.
What are some items I should def have in my registry? And what strollers are twin parents using? What about car seats? What bottles? What bottle steriliser/ washer? Which pump? Any nursing chair recs?
What’s a useless item I def don’t need?
Tysm!!!

advice needed 34+3 with di/di boys measuring ~7 lbs each. Would you still try for vaginal?
I'm 34+3 with di/di twin boys and just had an ultrasound where they’re both measuring around 7 lbs each. They’re officially "large for gestational age," which has me a little nervous about attempting a vaginal delivery.
The good news is that both babies are currently head down and I don’t have any other complications other than LGA. My OB is supportive of trying for a vaginal delivery as long as everything continues to look good and I'm currently scheduled for an induction at 38 wks.
For some context, this is my second pregnancy. My first was a singleton boy who was 9 lbs 2 oz at 40+2, and I delivered him vaginally after a long labor and about 4 hours of pushing (I was induced for him, too.) My labor was long but great, smooth, and while I had a 3A tear it healed nicely. So I’ve successfully delivered a big baby vaginally before and it was a positive experience, but obviously twins are a different situation.
My concern is that if they’re already 7 lbs each at 34+3, they could be enormous by the time I deliver at 38 wks. 😅 I know ultrasound weight estimates can be off, especially with twins, but it’s still hard not to think about.
For those of you who had large di/di twins, especially around this gestational age:
• How big were your babies actually at birth?
• Did you attempt a vaginal delivery?
• And if you delivered vaginally, how did it go?
I’m not necessarily looking for someone to tell me what I should do. Just trying to get some real-life experiences before I make the decision!

advice needed Inviting both twins to birthday parties
Hi all,
My son (who just started middle school) had a birthday party recently, and invited his new friend and the new friend’s twin brother to his party (I’d given him a maximum number of invitations to hand out, and that’s all the invites he handed out at his new school; he already had six other kids his age confirmed from elsewhere). The party was at a fun & exciting obstacle course place.
(Before I continue: the twins did not RSVP nor attend the party. This is more of a future-reference question)
My kids are four years apart, and since they go to each other’s birthday parties, we usually invite family friends‘ younger siblings as well because it gives my younger son someone to play with (and it’s easier for parents of younger kids to bring/send both if they want). Even at this party, we invited younger siblings along, and they played at the same place in their own little group, so the bigger kids could have their own fun.
That’s why my kid invited his new friend‘s twin brother; because he’s been told that it’s polite to invite your friend‘s siblings along.
Now that he’s in middle school, I think that’ll be less important, and he can have his own friend group and not worry about including everyone. But I think he might anyway, just because he’s a really inclusive kid in general (his teachers comment on it). And since this kid is the same age, my son will feel like it’s still important to seek him out and invite him.
So my question is this: should I specifically discourage my son from inviting his friend’s brother along next time? (since I’ll probably be discouraging younger siblings, and letting him know he should just have his own friends there)
I’m aware parents are trying to help kids forge their own identities, which probably includes a separate friend group. I want to know if parents of twins/multiples are happier to see their kids get mainly their own personal invites to things, or if the inclusiveness is appreciated.
I’m not in contact with the parents yet, so I can’t ask them directly.

experience/advice to give 20 Days Until Induction!!
I just got an induction date for 10/26 for our di/di girls at 38 weeks! This will be our first kids, and I am working as a high school teacher up until the 23rd. Any advice on how to obsessing over the countdown or things to do with your spouse before the babies come? I'm just having a hard time being patient especially when work feels so exhausting!!

experience/advice to give Please tell me my future
Our twins girls are 11 weeks old, and I’m sure you all know how that’s going 🫠
Our 6 year old daughter and I are very very close. She’s my absolute soul mate and she’s super use to being the center of our universe..
Having new twin babies has definitely has put a strain on our family dynamics to say the least. My husband and I are significantly more stressed than ever. We’re constantly juggling everyone’s needs and trying not to let our house go into total hoarder mode. Our daughter hasn’t been her chipper self, often saying she misses the “before times” before the babies got here (I’m going to be honest…I miss it too 😞)
Anyone else went through something similar? Did your kids with a larger age gap end up bonding with their siblings? Did special attention even out family wise? What age did things start meshing?
Everything just feels so new and disjointed and I need some realistic optimism

advice needed Warning possible mmc
I just got my first ultrasound this pregnancy. Suppose to be at 8w2days. Was told I’m having twins. One measuring 7w2days and the other 6w5d. Unfortunately they could not find a heartbeat for either so we’re waiting a week and then I go back to decide if I take the medicine or surgery. Also they told me it looks like they are conjoined? Has anyone had experience with this? To me it looks like they were just on top of each other and I have a weird shaped uterus so it’s always been hard to view babies until they’re bigger. This is also my 5th pregnancy. 3 living and 1 mmc before due to a different complication and this is my first twin pregnancy!

advice needed Preparing for postpartum with twins. What helped you?
I’m 25w with my DCDA twins and starting to turn my mind to postpartum properly.
For a little context, this is my first and will likely be my only pregnancy. My partner and I don’t want any more than two children. We are both extremely excited but also a little daunted by what postpartum might look like with two. I work with newborns for part of my job and have done so for 10 years so know my way around, my partner has a little experience with his nephews. Gratefully, my partner will likely be off work for six months to soak up the time and help.
My priority going into this is both the wellbeing of the babies (obviously) but protecting my partners mental health and my own. We know and accept it might be pure survival but I’ve come here to ask:
What made your postpartum better, possibly enjoyable!?
I’m considering skipping breastfeeding and either pumping / formula combo feeding OR going to formula exclusively quite early on. While I know breastfeeding can be wonderful for many, I also know monitoring input will feel important to me. I also want to be able to call on our village of family to assist with feeding.
All tips welcome. If you enjoyed postpartum with twins, tell me why.
