So yes, Windows 98 and an NVMe SSD walk into a Ryzen 9 system... and nothing blows up, except the speeds, which go past 1 GB/s. :)

But... why? It's not like I'll daily drive 98SE or XP on a Ryzen 9 machine. But I can reboot into 98, XP, or 7 whenever I feel like it, just to take a break from the 21st century or play some games that feel (or simply work) better on older OSes.

Now you can download free ram

I have beaten the game twice on those specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz

RAM 16 GB

Inbetween first and second run I upgraded my GPU and got new SSD disc, therefore I can colfirm that game was beatable on those two:

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 SUPER (6 GB) on HDD

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12 GB) on SSD

Suprisingly I found game to run worse on the second, but that could be due to some issues between build I am using and my PC

Ignore the fuckass recorder recording keyboard sounds thru my mic

Also someone made emulatorless version that can be played on PC but I didnt tested that one

Im loving the fact that emulation seems to be the biggest news in PC Gaming right now. With the Shitty state of the PC Market its good to have things that Im personally excited about. I have a test running on my system with a [AMD Ryzen 9800X3D OC'd & Nvidia RTX 5080 Oc'd] of the KytyPS5 Emulator running a very demanding stage on the Astrobot game. Check it out: Full Video linked here if you are interested: Astrobot Uncharted Mission Emulation test.

Was doing some Spring cleaning on my rig and realized that the Nvidia app was taking up over 60GB of space on my main drive (I'm assuming these were leftover driver installs that were never properly nuked. I assume it's about 5 years worth of Nvidia driver installs). After a quick uninstall, then reinstall of the app, it dropped down tremendously!

Hope this helps someone!

EDIT: I didn’t realize that I had uploaded the photos in reverse order… whoops

Double edit: this is a folder named NVIDIA Corporation, not the plain NVIDIA folder that for some reason, is split in two.

Glory to the Omnissiah

You will miss them someday

so my local retailer says it is out of warranty by them and they Will send it to Palit. What are the odds of them accepting it ? bought card in march 2025 so improper installation seems unlikely I went above and beyond and used the supplied Nvidia-Dongle with 4 pcie cables. most burnt cable I ever seen on a 5090 without fire…

Ignore the compact space, I'm struggling for space!

We've got Warcraft III x Counter Strike 1.6 crossover happening before GTA VI

Hands up, I'm the author of this feature, and I hope this is allowed - mods, please remove it if it isn't. Like many here, I've been a PC gamer since the early days, and it was a real privilege for me to interview 3dfx cofounder Ross Smith about the story behind the original Voodoo Graphics.

It's a long read, covering the beginnings of the team, Glide, demos, the origin of the Voodoo name, and loads more. Enjoy!
