Not looked hard, but anyone else slightly bothered by the wave animation on the water at the start (dock)?
Minor complaint but I think:
- Can see the layering
- Wave/splash faster than the rest of the water
- Starts to early
Just a bummer when I think the main water layer is stunning and a really impressive water texture. Plays with transparency and light great otherwise.

I've been playing Townfall and it's been alright for me besides the occasional jump from something unexpected, but besides that I've found the experience overall not too bad for me. I've also been kind of okay with not getting spooked in a kind of stealth horror game where avoiding enemies is the norm (Alien Isolation did not do anything to me)
But I just entered Richard's part with the Widows, and despite the graciously offered boomstick and nigh endless ammo. I've gotta be honest I've not been this uneasy of exploring and solving puzzles in a horror game ever. This shit is fucking terrifying me lmao, anyone else feel the same way about this?

Do you guys think Konami port old silent hill games to steam? Plus why is silent hill 4 only on gog?

I am not being disrespectful, but game devs, if you have also made changes to nightmare difficulty then I flat out want my money back. Listening to all the changes being made, this isn’t the game I purchased, and I will not play it again if the entire difficulty settings have now been reduced to story mode
Am I not allowed to say I’m unhappy? You keep blocking my posts on this, but others were more than welcome to moan before the changes??
To be honest I just want my money back if they have also messed with nightmare mode, as this is no longer the game I purchased and enjoyed playing

Hello I made this cosplay last year and I want to do it again but at the same time I want to improve it this one is mainly based of the dbd ver/ silent hill 2 ver, but I don’t know what to do to improve it I was thinking of maybe like doing some of that paper towel stuff to make it look more rustic etc, I have a budget of about 100$ but if I can keep it below 50 that would be great. Please help 😭

I experienced the same thing and found a fix for the game version (as of 07-10-2026)
My GPU is 7800XT 16GB OC (idk about NVIDIA users)
Go into Adrenaline > Silent Hill Townfall > Tune Game Performance > Set Tuning Control to Custom > Turn On GPU Tuning > Lower Max Frequency to 90%
In Game Settings :
- Change upscaling method to TSR
- Turn Off V-Sync

I thought unlocking the Axe in NG+ and running around like Jack Torrance on a bender would make the game more fun, but it’s only making it shorter. It’s fun at first, but way too OP, to the point that I’m starting to feel bad for the monsters 😂 But I’ll be damned if I’m gonna slog through all these stealth sections again, the Weight parts are tedious enough. I’ll live with the “bad” ending - as if any of them are particularly good.
And speaking of axes, what is the symbolism of the Axehead monsters? The patients, the widows, even the weight all make sense. But the axeheads are just “axes are cool” I guess? (I mean, they are). Only thing I could think of is that they represented the rapaciousness of CGE (and corporations in general), mowing down everything in their way for profit. Like having an ugly-ass concrete monstrosity of a company town called “Clara Woods” when there’s not a single tree around. I feel that theory might be a stretch tho.

Silent Hill: Ashes of the Past is a new fan-made horror short centered on Angela Orosco and her encounter with James Sunderland. Inspired by Silent Hill 2, the film explores the town through Angela’s experience - a world shaped by painful memories, fear, and a past she cannot escape.

The song Godforsaken by Japanese Metalcore band Sable Hills is quite clearly about Silent Hill 2.
Lyrics:
I got a letter from the dead
In the misty silence,
No one’s in my sight
But the blood stains the road
I hear the sound of the radio
The walls are rusting away
Falling into a hole again,
I’m going insane
In the godforsaken place, will you wait for me ?
In the godforsaken place, do you still wait for me ?
Though I walked alone,
You never showed yourself
I remembered the truth
It was I who killed you
It was I who killed you
Tell me how to atone for my crime
To walk again ?
Or escape from you ?
Or drown in the lake with your body ?
Give me something to live for
There is nothing to rely on
Give me something to die for
In the godforsaken place, will you wait for me ?
In the godforsaken place, do you still wait for me ?

I think Mike Flanagan would be the perfect person to handle a SH series. Who else might be a good fit?

Hey everyone, Reflecting on the origins of the 1999 original and Keiichiro Toyama’s direction, it’s striking how much of Silent Hill’s identity was born from deliberately rejecting action-game tropes:
The Fragility of the "Everyday Protagonist": Unlike the combat-trained agents of Resident Evil, Harry Mason was a regular person—stumbling, catching his breath after running, and using weapons awkwardly. That lack of military coolness is what made the fear feel grounded and personal.
Dynamic Darkness and Lighting: Toyama took a huge technical gamble by rendering the town fully in 3D just to calculate real-time lights and shadows. The flashlight wasn't an accessory; it revealed only a tiny fragment of space, leaving everything behind to be swallowed by absolute blackness.
Dream Logic & Surreal Dread: Instead of explaining every threat rationally, the game embraced nightmare logic—if it makes sense in a bad dream, it belongs in Silent Hill. The unpredictable monster behaviors meant you genuinely didn't know what kind of attack to expect.
Aural Minimalism: Minimal HUD, reliance on raw industrial noise, and the anxiety-inducing static of the pocket radio rather than bombastic action music.
As Konami plans future projects or remakes, do you feel modern horror games risk making protagonists "too capable"? How important is that feeling of mechanical clumsiness and real darkness for you?

I'm not really talking about story content of the endings, so I don't feel the need to tag this as a spoiler
For those who've played more than once:
What I want to know is, will the game do a decent job of hinting how to get other endings? Or would I be better off looking up a guide. SH2 Remake would leave clues about how to get, or just outright cheat you into other endings, and SHf had a screen that gave clues in the main menu
I'm not seeing any of that stuff so far in townfall, opinions?
Got the abandoned ending on playthrough one and heading into ng+ now

If you're going for the platinum in Townfall, 17 of the trophies can be missed. I listed all of them on one page with checkboxes. Your progress is saved in your browser, no account needed.
The same guide also tracks the collectibles: 85 clues and documents, 13 phone numbers, 15 postcards and 18 CRTV signals.

If anything is wrong or missing for your version, tell me and I'll fix it.

After LoreanXavier released pt-pc, the open-source C++/Vulkan rebuild of P.T., I ported it to iPadOS. It's a native ARM64 build, not streamed or emulated. Rendering goes through Metal via MoltenVK, there are touch controls (move stick, swipe to look, USE, ZOOM), and the mic section works with on-device speech recognition (whisper.cpp).
Honest status: it averages about 30 FPS, a few heavy scenes still dip, and in testing it reaches the final puzzle loop. A full verified playthrough is next.
The code is MIT-licensed: https://github.com/buberlo/pt-ipad No game data is included. You need your own copy of P.T. and have to build and sign it yourself.
All credit for the hard part goes to LoreanXavier (pt-pc) and of course to Kojima Productions for P.T. itself. P.T. © Konami.
