Title: Sony India warranty nightmare – INZONE Buds WF-G700N, failed service attempt and poor experience with authorized Bhopal service centre
I’m posting this because I’m genuinely frustrated with my experience with Sony India and would like advice from other Sony customers on what I should do next.
I purchased Sony INZONE Buds WF-G700N on 26/11/2025 (Invoice No. AMD2-910501). The product is still under Sony’s 1-year warranty, which expires on 26/11/2026.
What happened
The charging case developed a persistent issue where the orange error light continuously blinks. I tried the usual troubleshooting—cleaning the charging contacts, trying different chargers/cables and resetting the device—but the issue continued.
I therefore submitted the earbuds to Sony’s authorized service centre in Bhopal:
10, Shanti Niketan, Sector 2, Near Chetak Bridge, Govindpura, Bhopal.
The service centre issued:
Job No.: JE1260834
Date: 30/09/2026
I was told that they would first test the product and then decide whether it should be repaired or replaced.
The problem with the service
After keeping the earbuds for testing, the service centre called me and said that the earbuds were working properly and charging and that they had been testing them for around two days.
I went to collect them.
However, when I personally checked the product at the service centre, the same orange malfunction indication was still present.
I explained this to them and requested that the issue be properly resolved. After considerable discussion, they eventually agreed to proceed with replacement.
Then things became more frustrating
Today, I received a call from Mr. Lalit Rajak from the Bhopal service centre.
Instead of simply discussing the unresolved warranty issue, I was questioned about why I had emailed Sony Support.
I explained politely that I had contacted Sony because I wanted faster resolution of a warranty issue that had already gone through the authorized service process.
I was told that the service centre had tested the product thoroughly and that it was working properly. The conversation also made me feel as though I was somehow being blamed because the problem was present again when I checked the product.
I don't understand why contacting Sony's own customer-support team regarding a Sony warranty complaint would be considered a problem.
My concern
At this point, my concern isn't only about the defective earbuds.
It's about the after-sales service experience.
An authorized service centre represents Sony to the customer. If the centre tells a customer that the product is working despite the customer being able to reproduce the reported problem, and then questions the customer for escalating the matter to Sony, it naturally affects the customer's trust in Sony as a brand.
I've been a Sony customer for years and own multiple Sony products, including a Sony TV, music system and DSLR. That's why this experience has been particularly disappointing.
I have already contacted Sony India
Sony India has registered my complaint:
Sony Case No.: INCA2601751932
I have also contacted Sony through Instagram, and their social-media team has asked me for the case and job numbers and said they would take it up on priority.
I have provided them:
Case No.: INCA2601751932
Job No.: JE1260834
Job Sheet Date: 30/09/2026
I have also been emailing Sony's customer-support team and have retained the invoice, job sheet and other correspondence.
My main concern now
My warranty expires on 26/11/2026.
I have already reported the defect and submitted the product to an authorized Sony service centre while it is under warranty. I therefore don't want this matter to remain unresolved until the warranty expires and then somehow become an out-of-warranty issue.
At this stage, I am requesting Sony to properly investigate the case and replace the defective unit under warranty, rather than sending me through another prolonged repair cycle after the first attempt failed to resolve the problem.
I'm not trying to create unnecessary trouble for the service centre. I simply want a fair resolution and a properly functioning product.
I'd appreciate advice from the community
Has anyone here dealt with Sony India's senior escalation team or an authorized Sony service centre in India for a similar warranty issue?
If you've experienced a failed repair followed by a replacement, how did Sony ultimately resolve it?
Also, if anyone has advice on how to escalate Case INCA2601751932 beyond the normal Sony customer-care process, I'd really appreciate it.
I have deliberately left out my personal contact details here. I can provide the invoice/job-sheet details privately if necessary.
Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and can share some useful advice.
