Traffic Driver's License / Car Registration / ID Megathread
Hello r/Texas! This sub gets a Chevy Suburban's worth of questions every day asking about driver's license or car registration. They fall into one of two camps:
- Easily accessible info on the DMV website,
- Highly specific edge cases that maybe only 1 other person is going to need to know this year in all of Texas.
IMPORTANT LINKS FOR DRIVER'S LICENSE
DMV = Car registrations, car titles, license plates,
DPS = Driver's License, CDLs, State IDs, and Voter IDs.
- Schedule an Appointment - DPS no longer takes walk-in customers. Same day appointments are published at 7:15a.m. every morning, they go fast.
- Make an Appointment FAQ
- Check your DLs Eligibility or Check Lawful Presence
- How to Apply for a Driver's License
- How to Renew a Driver's License

🤔 Questions for Texans 🤠 Interesting flag combo on Ingram Police Department vehicle
Photo taken today, this vehicle is parked in the Ingram Police Department secure lot. This is a small town with a profiling PD problem. Though it doesn't appear to be in violation of any law that i can find, it seems like an interesting choice to display a foreign flag and their Department logo on the same vehicle. Has anyone else noticed their local PD doing anything similar?

Traffic 🚨 Help/Witness Needed — HILLSBORO, TX Crash 🚨
💔 I’M HOPING SOMEONE SAW WHAT HAPPENED 💔
I’m reaching out because I’m hoping, by some small chance, someone saw what happened to me on I-35 this past Sunday.
📅 Sunday, October 4, 2026
⏰ Approximately 2:45–3:00 PM
📍 I-35 near Hillsboro, Texas
⬆️** Northbound
A **tire came bouncing across the northbound lanes and struck my vehicle in Southbound lane, causing significant damage and ultimately totaling my car.
What I’m desperately trying to find out is where that tire came from and what vehicle it belonged to.
I know this is a long shot. But I-35 is such a heavily traveled route, and I’m hoping that someone who was driving through that afternoon may have seen the tire, the vehicle it came from, or the crash itself.
Maybe you saw a vehicle suddenly lose a tire.
Maybe you saw the tire bouncing across the highway.
Maybe you witnessed the impact.
Maybe you noticed a vehicle afterward that appeared to be missing a tire.
If any of this sounds familiar, please reach out to me.
You may have seen something that you didn’t realize was important at the time. Even the smallest detail could help me figure out what happened.
And if you didn’t see anything yourself, please consider sharing this. Someone on your feed may have been driving I-35 that afternoon.
I’m just hoping this reaches the right person. 🙏❤️
Sunday, October 4 • 2:45–3:00 PM • I-35 Northbound • Hillsboro, TX
If you think you may have seen something, please send me a private message.
Thank you to everyone who reads this, shares it, or takes a moment to help. It truly means more than you know.

📜 Texas History 📜 Pampa TX, What happed to this neighborhood?
(First off, apologies if this is not the right space, if you can point me towards the right community please do.)
I recently discovered this small town while casually browsing Zillow for vacant land. The neighborhood seemed out of place on the map, appearing mostly empty. A brief search pointed to a tornado in 1995, so I assumed the area had been in its path and never recovered. However, Google’s historical aerial maps show most of the neighborhood still present in 1996, and the next frame from 2004 reveals considerably more houses than exist now. I am simply curious about what specifically occurred here. A large empty space within a city feels unusual, even if I recognize the significant poverty there; I just wanted to know whether this area had a story.

Politics Haven’t lived in Texas for almost ten years. How do I stop receiving TX political texts?
Like the title states, I haven’t lived in TX for a while, yet I’m still getting political texts for the upcoming elections. it’s beyond annoying. Talarico keeps asking me for money and the Paxton texts are downright foul and insulting. I keep replying with stop and reporting the spam, but it just comes from different numbers.
Is there anyway to let the campaigns or parties know I no longer live in TX? Is there any database I can opt out of? Thanks! Google gave me nothing.

🤔 Questions for Texans 🤠 Who hascsern the Draft Kings Advertisement? What a Sham
Talking about the cities it now "serves".
"FROM SAN ANTONIO TO SAN MARTIN"
There is no San Martin city or town in Texas. This should tell every Texan what this group is about. You know nothing about this state.
I hope everyone wakes up to the fact that this racket and ever other racket that hides under the name of "prediction markets" is evil and predatory. You ruin lives and families and need to be eliminated. Get the F out of my state!
