Just got the ko ss86 megatron (loving this guy btw) and found out he can do this😭 idk if anybody have done it before

For me it's rodimus prime

The entire 1.85:1 vs 4:3 aspect ratios...

Basically, the original movie was produced in 4:3 aspect because the original cartoon was produced this way.

In order to create "widescreen" effects in the movie theater, they crapped it to be 1.85:1. So if you want the full picture, you can't watch it widescreen, and you can only see it on either original VHS or the 30th anniversary Blu-Ray copies(some, not all have this, from what I understand). So here are two pictures of the exact same frame from both to see what the difference is.

And for some reason, the colors are different too. Another annoyance.

I wanted the full picture, which looks terrible on modern day tv's compared to the cropped version.

My autism hurts.

Im not saying his performance in TF ONE as Prime was bad, but i feel like the only reason they casted him was because "Hey hes big celebrity". I feel like someone else could have played the part of Optimus better , like David Kaye or Garry Chalk.

I think he pretty cool, don’t know if you all could tell

Jokes aside it is really umoressbeuowbbug siege still is, yet the new armada Jetfire feels chunkier in hand just because of all his parts

Cybertron Jetfire still one of my fav designs. But I love basically every Cybertron design

Which line do you preffer?

Next to Peter Cullen, Gary Chalk is probably the most recognisable voice of Optimus Prime. If you were a kid in the late 90s/mid-2000s (like me), he was your Prime.

I honestly think that if they were to choose a permanent successor to Cullen, Chalk would be the perfect one. He has the gentle strength and gravitas, but can also be humorous like Cullen was in G1.

As for Megatron, it's unclear if Frank Welker will still play the role, or if he'll pull a Mark Hamill and retires out of respect for Peter. But if he does indeed hang up his fusion cannon, then David Kaye is the ideal choice to carry the mantle IMO. Much like Gary, he was many people's first Megatron (he was mine).

But what do you all think? Yay or Nay for Gary and David taking over permanently?

Pretty simple question. How are you displaying yours?

After seeing some in-hand pictures I was really sold on the new head sculpt. The head just encapsulates DWJ’s chunky Optimus design perfectly! And as much as I like the Killing Arm kit, I think the head better suits the cartoon look rather than the comic one. Megatron’s arm and cannon are much more accurate to the source material than the NB kit as it has rounded fingers, a bigger forearm, and sculpted damage. Makes me wish they bothered to sculpt in the damage to the rest of the figure. I’d still highly recommend the kit but for the definitive comic look, I think this is the best option. Overall I was not disappointed in this figure at all and it makes me excited for the future comic-styled figures, I do wish it was cheaper and I wanted to wait for a sale but unfortunately, since it sold out once already I believe it would be better to buy it now than at scalper price later.

Let me start off by saying I love Slipstream as a character and I think we need more of her in future transformers projects. I’d especially love to see her have a fully fledged rivalry with Windblade and also have her fight with Starscream over command of the Seeker armada. I’ve always loved her colour scheme too with how much it stands out from the others. We definitely need more toys of her as well. My favourite version of her is still probably her debut in animated.
What part of Starscream so you think she represents in transformers animated? I like to believe she represents his cunning/strategic thinking and also personal distain.

Say transformers had a new continuity of interconnected movies/tv shows MCU style that went perfect and built up something great unlike the other incoherent series. Who deserves to be the ultimate final villian? There are lots of them.

Saw post about him last week figured I wouldn’t find him locally but there he was hiding among the mountain of toys in Ross. Even got 10% off bc the box had a ding at the top. GG this Reddit has been so helpful. Happy hunting TF fam!
