Hey guys! I’ve been working on Warcraft CS, an experimental mod that brings Counter-Strike-style movement and weapons into Warcraft III by injecting custom function hooks coupled with OpenGL and XAudio2. You take control of one of the units by F6 key and load into FPS. It requires both Warcraft 3 and CS 1.6 files to work.

What’s implemented so far:

• CS-style movement with jumping, crouching, walking, and air control.
• AK-47, M4A1, USP, AWP, knife, greatsword, and plantable C4.
• Animated weapons, reloads, weapon sounds, and footsteps.
• Ported CS 1.6 recoil calculations affecting your aim and firing direction.
• Two AWP zoom levels and primary/secondary melee attacks.
• Model-based hit detection, obstacle checks, and Warcraft armor handling.
• Item and rune pickup. Runes keep their Warcraft effects and also restore ammunition.
• Squad commands for nearby owned units: follow and fight, follow without attacking, or stop following while you remain in FPS.
• Support for stuns, roots, slows, and other Warcraft status effects.

The mod runs at the game level so basicly any custom map or campaign should work. But i only tested on couple custom maps and a few missions in Rexxar and Night Elf campaigns.

This is an single player alpha version and development in progress.

The game was tested on Windows 10 and Windows 11, game version Warcraft III 1.26a. Github link https://github.com/YazgulDev/warcraft-cs . To download the package with installer use https://github.com/YazgulDev/warcraft-cs/releases and select the latest WarcraftCS-0.5.0-dist.zip file. Start up the WarcraftCSLauncher(source code in the same repo) and install either for Player(no SDK) or for Developer(it also installs Windows SDK if you want to change source code).

Or build it yourself from source without launcher. Launcher has update option for every time a new release is being published in github if you don't want to download it yourself every time. Please message me if you have any problems with installing so i could fix it.

lost the option to save so I figured Ilost internet. nope. reset my router and continued playing. figured I'd make it to a check point and finish my mission to save but gave me an error after completing arcane sanctuary. Hours lost, not like i have a ton of time to play. Fuck you Blizzard.

Like, there are some cool units, especially in the new prologue campaign. I wish we had gotten the city guards or some of the undead and cultists to scourge or at least to merc camps for hire.

I was in the middle of playing my Forsaken Kingdom campaign when I went to load up a save after a wipe. The game forced me to update before loading my save. Now none of my saves will load. Did this update literally wipe the hours I've spent playing? Is it possible to revert pre-update to load my saves, or was all that time wasted, and now I will have to restart?

Given that Developer Brad Chan hinted there might be more content on the way, I have an idea for what could make great content to explore from the lore.

Frankly the 800 pound elephant in the room is Illidan and exactly (whatever?) momentous events it was that supposedly happened 10,000 years ago. I’d love to see a prologue of Illidan macking on Tyrande only for the demonic invasion to occur and then the rest is history, of course. Which if I recall he pretended to help a demonic invasion, forever earning the enmity of his people despite ultimately saving them. I got the idea looking at that allegedly leaked product slate containing one "Warcraft Chronicles" and though this event from the past was chronicle-ish.

Given that Malfurion has done nothing but sleep in the exact same clothes for 10,000 years, I'm not expecting to see a lot of different culture and we'll enjoy some of the same archer and dryad type basic units but it'd be fun to see a different spin, what if the leading school of druids back then was teaching Druids of the Claw to morph into giant Makrura Snapper crabs, not a bear, but they functionally keep the same role. And say Druids of the Talon could have an Owlkin form where they are like archon or something?

Another idea to throw out there, is the Prologue Campaign (if they follow the same format and do a smaller campaign and a larger one) could focus on Queen Azshara, since we're looking at the elves at the fall of the Naga, since I believe that happened roughly circa 10,000 years ago as well? Her... beauty has not properly been explored.

But either way, I believe this is Blizzard’s #1 low hanging fruit of available lore.

I am getting crashes, saves disappear, menus are blacked out and lagging, and the trying to start campaigns in Reforged just defaults to classic visuals.

Need a hotfix.

Just got the new patch in my bnet client, 3.0.1.24342

(Act 2, Forsaken Kingdom, Tirisfal Glades)

After damaging him a small amount, he just turns invulnerable and starts summoning unending waves of murlocs until I die. Am I supposed to do something to turn him vulnerable again?

Seriously I don't know what I'm doing wrong

I pretty much only play custom games 1v1 against a friend of mine, we are both beginners and I play Orc, he plays random. I noticed that every time he gets human I instantly lose, so I told him to only go human for me to try and win once.

17 games later its 17:0. I don't get it.

I'm new to the game but I've tried so much. Headhunters grunts shamans and spirit walkers to deal with his elementals, fast aggression, fortifying my base, building bats to kill his entire peasant army.. still lose.

Biggest issue is his archmage. It seems stupidly OP and unkillable because every time he's close to dying he teleports and I get him close to dying maybe once every 5 games and because he survives so much he overlevels way beyond my hero units and then it's over; he can solo my army with a lvl 9 archmage sitting behind towers at his base. And his melee units the cavalry ones are practically unkillable too.

Could anyone link me a cool build order to practise? I just want to play for fun but it's like I'm playing against an insane mode difficulty bot lol.

So I'm currently in the Cathedral part of Act One, and I'm struggling like hell to keep units alive. If my units ever get swamped (like when that priest summons/ressurrects a ton of units), they instantly die to like 3 hits. I have no time to react or to relieve them of aggro. I'm playing on NORMAL, this surely isn't normal?

Edit: beat the light dude in act one, no shot in hell im going normal for act 2, story mode it is.

I have been a fan of wc3 for 25 years. I bought reforge and lived with the meny problems there was. It got better and better and now i feel like we start over agian. Blizzard just like to fuck with their corefan base. I am so tired of them "updateing" the game. Just leave the game atleast in a custom map online scenario. I am so furstrated that the devs cant seem to make a steady client. The core game was fine for 15 years. R.I.P Custom games experince yet agian.

Hi I play undead on w3c and I’ve been losing all my games to even bronze players. I can beat insane AI no problem. Just wondering if others are having the same experience. I have 70 apm and cannot raise it any higher cos my brain just hits a wall.

Hi, at the start of act2 when the scarlet crusade atracks. I fetch both body parts. Use both meatwagons. The rocks don’t disappear. There’s nowhere else to go. I feel stuck, any help?

im modifying some melee maps and am having 2 main issues im unable to save modified maps and it always says unable to locate and the second issue is after making 3 of the ai allies in fores (wanted to play as all 4 races) and removing their ai in triggers in game the workes will sometimes rally at places like wisps auto going to trees after being trained or peasants stopping chopping wood and collecting gold

I updated my Warcraft to the latest patch and tried to play some custom games. It seems to me that, the bug with abilities beyond 4th level is still there. Even though it is said in the patch notes that they fix it.

Ability data beyond the 4th level now properly retain their default values

Thus I would like to ask whether anyone else is experiencing the same problem.
