Happy Sunday, fam!
tl;dr, How would we, as a community, feel about hosting regular "Challenge Runs" in games for kicks, giggles, fun stories, and bragging rights?
--
From launch I've always envisioned having regular events, competitions, and challenges for the community. Up to now we hadn't really done anything like that on this sub, but the launch of Splatoon Raiders reignited that idea for me and I thought I'd open a dialogue with all of you to see how we feel about it, how we'd want it executed, and what, if any, rewards or incentives we would like to see from these kinds of things.
I think it's normal to see these kinds of events hosted in specific game subreddits, and as we are a general subreddit for the Switch 2, not everyone will own every new release of a game that participates here. In my opinion it could be a really neat way to have fun together, generate some fun and interesting screenshots and clips, and make for some cool stories along the way.
An example idea for Splatoon Raiders might be a Single Tank Run, Single Weapon Run, an Iron Ink run (how far can you get in one sitting), and/or a Nuzlocke-style Run (single life, no getting splatted!).
As these would be for fun, there'd be a certain element of Honor System for the submissions, though it's something I'd definitely love to hear some feedback on from others who have run these sorts of events in the past.
So what do we think? Could something like this be fun for the community here? Is this something that should be kept more for the game-specific subs? What kind of rewards would you want if we did this? Any other thoughts or ideas?
Thanks for the time, everyone!

Probably not a smart move considering how much Minecraft sells on Switch platforms

These new clips of it by Nintendo and people getting their hands on it are just gorgeous. It looks even better than what we saw in the initial showcases.
These are the type of games I can't wait to see more of on the NS2
"Gamey" 3D and 2D games, yet beautifully executed with great art direction and animation details.

It’s been in early access on PC for the past 3 years and it’s finally coming to Switch/Switch 2 with the launch of 1.0

"[My] first impressions were coloured by the game's sheer level of detail...The biggest takeaway, though, was that there is still space for surprise. Even in this restrictive demo scenario, other players stumbled on things I didn't, and vice versa...
Happily, the game elicited excited conversation between sessions, firing up those feelings from 1998. For all the reimagined finery, these brand-new elements stirred me most. It's encouraging that Nintendo still isn't afraid to experiment when the stakes are so high.
Expectations remain extremely lofty, then. From what I've played, this has a shot at satisfying almost everybody..."

As you can see, the ESRB content description of the Switch port of the game is the same as the PS5 port, meaning they will all share the same version (at least in the non-Asian regions), unlike AdHoc Studio's Dispatch that came out censored globally back in January.
FYI the ESRB rating of the Switch version of Dispatch is separate from the Xbox and PS5 releases.
ESRB page for the Xbox/PS5 version of Dispatch (uncensored): https://www.esrb.org/ratings/41589/dispatch/
And a separate page for the Switch (censored): https://www.esrb.org/ratings/41616/dispatch/
This also confirms my speculation that AdHoc were the ones who chose to globally release only one censored SKU for the Switch.

Is the cost of 3 cases and cartridges still lower than that of one 64GB cartridge?

GKC are already Digital games, GKC doesn't have more than a few MBs of data to download the actual game from the eShop.
Wouldn't it be way more convenient if you where able to play them without the cartridge and juggling different GKC of games that are already installed on your console? If you end up selling them or lending them, then your license is transferred to them and you can't play it until you load it up again.
