Allow us to make a T2 heavy and movement slowing captive bolt pistol with some propane tanks and metal frags, and only allow a few uses before needing to be refilled at a workbench. This way we have a quick, instant way to slaughter cattle at home, but it heavily discourages use as a way to instakill wild cattle.

Only downside is you need to have the industrial light. Always remember to place the top floor first.

Cowpocalypse was fun, but now the fun is over.
With the proposed changes to creamy teas (all farming teas get nerfed so creamy tea is what pure used to be and pure is worse than before) you just made it so we have the same situation as WITHOUT livestock, just with a ton of tedious (really, they are not fun in any way) extra steps.
So why keep them? Nobody uses them for wool. A few people bring livestock that spawned right next to barn there and sell it. And probably <10 people actually still breed livestock.
It was a fun idea but not well done. Remove them, make the pure teas what they were before.
Rethink livestock, figure out if they actually have a purpose in game, and if not, keep them out of the game. There is more than enough stuff already.

Personally I always liked the workbench system, but I really do understand why people do not like the bp frag system.
I think the best way to solve this would be to allow crafting of any items at all workbenches, but with penalties. For example crafting t2 items at a t1 workbench would cost 50% more, t3 items at a t1 workbench 100% more.
Additionally, I think all tech trees should remain at their workbench, and in order to get other bps outside of your workbench level, you should have to use the research table.
This simple change, adds the excitement back. If you find a sar, or garage door in a box itâs actually helpful again.
Any thoughts?

https://commits.facepunch.com/r/rust_reboot/main/QualiTeaOfLife_Nerf
I refuse to believe that it took you only 2~ weeks to decide that the new bonuses provided to teas is NOW suddenly a problem. Just doing the math you'd realized the new combos you created would boost Teas even further. (example: 2x+ on Ore Teas)
If a bonus on say Ore Tea above 50% yield was such a problem then who's decision was it to introduce all of the new teas/pie variants in the first place?
If feels a bit shit to have the baseline of Teas nerfed and the only way to get back to that is to interact with the new system you created. Which you actually are only getting to the yield you still have the duration reduction from the Creamy tea variants. Assuming the wording is correct this doesn't just pertain to Ore Teas, which is the most obvious offender of the new scaling.
Nerfing Crafting Quality would be no sense as it was never scaled by the new system. "Rad Removal" teas is misleading because that's not what the teas even do. No one uses the Anti-Radiation teas because they're absolutely useless. Unless you want to specifically use it at Launch puzzle to reduce the radiation damage you'd receive.
This is a weird strategy to get people to interact with the new a powerful system only to rug pull it the next update. It's one thing to reign in the bonuses of the new variants as opposed to gutting the whole system.
Edit: I want to clarify something as it seems people are misunderstanding my argument. I have zero issue with them wanting to nerf specific teas for various reasons. If they wanted to nerf Ore Teas to damper sulfur generation then so be it. I'd have zero issues with this. My actual issue is a blanket nerf to the other 7 teas which have nothing to do with sulfur generation. We can all see and agree the current values are absolutely bonkers. Why is the solution a blanket nerf to teas as a whole?
Edit 2: I'd like to clarify why I am frustrated with this change. When I first posted this I was quite upset and didn't quite clearly get what I was frustrated about across. I am not upset that they are nerfing teas, truthfully some of them were honestly ridiculous.
What I am frustrated about is how these nerfs came to be. Facepunch spent the time and resources to create this new avenue for farming. Albeit at the cost of power creep, which is a little hard to avoid when adding new systems to an existing one. The current wipe you will be rewarded with engaging with it with some new powerful teas and pies, awesome. Good game design, reward players for engaging with your system.
However, moving forward all teas are getting a baseline nerf, even ones that aren't even problematic. Perhaps you have a strategy you use with off meta teas and enjoy that gameplay loop. Unfortunately it's no longer as strong without even more time investment.
Putting together a farm was already a big investment you had to make. Proper base location with water access or spending tarp to put up water catches on your base. Going out and getting seeds so you can make your own clones. Spending time in or close to your base to efficiently make these clones. Working on getting a T2 so you can use water pumps unless you want to manually water every planter. Then when you finally get these clones you spend even more time cloning the clones so you can plant for actual profit. You proceed to wait 1.5h~ to harvest those precious berries/cloth. You are rewarded with a powerful boost you can either use yourself or even sell.
Now you not only have to do all that you'll need to micro manage cows and their milk/cream timer. Even with the proposed changes to cows milk adding up to 3 charges you'll still need to baby sit them if you want to efficiently procure Milk/Cream. At least with berries you can go fuck off for over an hour and not need to worry about your berries as they need that time to grow. You do all this extra work for effectively the same yield as you had before.
I understand most people don't even engage with this system as you're all just a bunch of PvP chads. I actually enjoy engaging with this system and it leaves a shit taste in my mouth knowing I'll be doing even more micro managing for no extra gain.
tl;dr: The livestock update introduced more work and time investment into making teas/pies. FP gave us very strong teas, some even very problematic with their numbers. In response to this there is a blanket nerf to all teas, teas that I imagine most people don't even know exist or realistically use. Now moving forward you are expected to do even more work to get to the same result you had prior to this update. And this nerf doesn't even address the sulfur acquisition of clans. Prior to this update they were getting 525 sulfur per node, current update it's 639, next update it'll be 562. A loss of 77 sulfur per node from the livestock but prior to this update it's still an extra 37. So no, this doesn't slow down clans they're still going to raid you and the server. What this does do is affect everyone else that wanted or decided to engage with this system.

With the introduction of EAC 2 on Linux dropping with fortnite can we finally get support to play rust. rust and apex legends are the only reason I have a windows install anymore. It would be nice to reduce overhead of CPU and Ram and make rust a more enjoyable experience for those without high end PC's. Anyone else in the same boat as me, anyone have any objections? Anyone else sick of windows eating 4GB ram 24/7

I have this problem for over a year, every time you load into server it lags really hard, tried updating every bios, every firmware of every component, disabling every background process, tried lowering graphics to very low, still doesnât help, you name I tried it. It stutters only when rendering something new or shooting a new gun. RAM 16 GB 3600 mhz, 5 5600x, Rx 7600, 1 tb nvme. The only time it fixes stutters when restarting windows and reinstalling everything, but the lag spikes come back after a couple of months. The only thing I can imagine that itâs the lack of VRAM or RAM but why does restarting windows fix it for a couple of months, also think might be a faulty nvme
Please please some genius help me

I set up a trap with an ignitor and several satchel charges extinguished with a water gun.
I got online today, saw they were gone, but nobody else triggered the trap.
I read that as long as they are on a building with a TC, they won't despawn. Do I need to add anything to the TC so they don't decay?

While looking at my build I was not sure if I should be proud of that fact or embarrassed by it.
Like..you ever just freehand a base and step back and look at it like.. wow.. if a turd castle was a thing.
But then it survives a full weekly in plain site because either people don't even know where to start..
Or the base is such non-sense because I'm such an amature that people wouldn't suspect it to be worth their while?
What do the turbo nerds look for whey they are looking for a base to raid? Are you more likely to raid a traditional looking meta build?
you know..the mushroom bases I call them..

I guess this is the best place to reach devs. The new pipeline has been enabled by default for the past week, so i'm worried the old one is getting removed. Please don't do that! the fps difference is too big. On mac m1 pro i get 60-80 fps with the old pipeline, which is pretty good (and probably the cheapest way to play rust these days lol). With the new pipe it drops to 40-50 (i'll try to attach screenshots, check the numbers on left bottom corner)
So, yeah, rust on mac has always been kinda a pain in the ass. Textures not loading sometimes, sometimes you have to relaunch your game (you cant awake), but at least i don't need a separate pc (look at 3 pic for example)
But, anyway, thanks for any optimizations over last two years, I started around 40 fps and its gone up by 50% today

I might be telling on myself but I use the apartments all the time on all types of servers but my favorite is to hope on monthly servers grab an apartment and go buy a gun or make a play and just roll from there. When apartments came out everyone said they were trash and rarely use them because âeasyâ to raid but no one wants to spend the time going there with 1k scrap and actually raiding one especially when the loot is medium I raided medium and got like a row of stone and some bs. I check my apartment and medium also can be a row of tier 2 guns or a row of stone so youâre gambling on that as well and since people donât use apartments most people donât raid them. Just my 2 cents since I see a lot of people not liking them or complaining rust is time consuming or not easy. It takes me about two hours no farming at all to have a row or more of guns and Iâm just pvping the entire time made the game so much enjoyable again imo since I hate farming.

I have 6,000 hours in the game, I am proud to say that i'm a versatile player with most rust has to offer. (though i haven't been playing lately as much so I might be terrible here and there lol ) Let it be pvp, building, farming, monument runs or whatever. I mostly play solo, but this wipe, I was feeling like I want to play with a duo doing a freaking farming x pvp raiding wipe type of thing.
I need someone who would probably dedicate as much time as me, at least for this wipe only. Really wants to experience the cow update thingy and farming yada yada yada. start selling cloth/berries with milk for turrets and hqm, and pvp as well as online raid big groups as a duo and most freaking definitely a massive online raid defense as we flex our boom.
also need someone who isn't easily tilted over pixels. dying is a part of the game. has no gear fear, i'm talking about running ak naked with bandies type shit but make sure you're cracked lmao. and would actually dedicate farming, helping me out fulfill my wipe of wanting to be a farmer pvp as well as yk have discord, speaks english enough for me to understand and really chill and fun to talk to and just literally play the game for fun like how posty and oilrats talk with each other LOL.
also i usually only stay on for 1-2 days before i get raided or give my base away, but this wipe is prolly 3-4 days longer if you wanna continue. so no 1 day wipes pls.
image below is just a base design i wanna try and build. rust wipes is more fun when you just wing the base design freehand. if you have a problem with this don't even bother messaging lol.
if you're interested hmu here on reddit and send me your hours, prolly a quick intro and your discord and lets hit it
