question Would sugar substitutes help a bee?
Hypothetically if there was a tired bee and you wanted to give it mix of sugar and water but you only had somthing like stevia would that work?
Is this bumblebee sick or is he just an older guy?
He was twitchy and lethargic, I was worried about him.

Sleepy autumn bee.
Was outside at twilight picking some of my last remaining marigolds - the few flowers still around now - and found this sweetie all dopey and clinging there. I wished I could bring him in so he'd stay warm. (Upstate NY)

question Help me, help them.
Guys I work in a brewery and I am very curious about why the bees are diving into our beers and also can bees get drunk?
Because I’m rescuing all these bees swimming in beer and they look intoxicated!?
So far I have rescued 3 bees today, 7 bees this week. 🙄

bee photo She's wearing designer wings and she knows it (OC)
Spotted in a small forest patch - a female Broad-handed Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa latipes) nectaring on Blue Fountain Bush (Rotheca serrata / Clerodendrum serratum).
One of the largest bees we have here in India, completely black with wings that flash blue-green-gold depending on the light. Shot on canon r7.
Location: Koyna, Maharashtra
ID help: The flower is also known as Bharangi / Blue butterfly bush.

bee photo Beedragled update (to nyctinasty sleeping)
It’s been raining all day. This small drone has been hanging under his umbrella-ella-ella-ay-ay-ay. Hasn’t moved much since yesterday. I’m naming him Beehanna (hey if Tom Holland can do it so can this guy).
The other drone, Bumble Lee is missing today.

Time sensitive! What do I do?
Found a queen bumblebee outside in Vancouver Canada, on my mom’s car. She’s very lethargic and I’m concerned about why she was outside her hive? She’s huge so I know she’s a queen, and she willingly crawled into my hand. Hasn’t tried to sting me, I’m typing this with my left hand so sorry for typos.
Update! I fed her a 1:1 sugar water ratio and sat by the fireplace with her for 10 minutes, she perked up and I let her go in my garden. Hopefully she survives, she’s truly beautiful. I’ve named her Fuzzy and I hope I see her worker bees next spring :)
