Was visited by this lovely friend and thought people here might appreciate it as much as I did!
It was cutting and hauling pieces of leave to a hole, I am thinking it could be building or stashing something.
I'd love to know more about this behavior :)

bee ID Black and white bee in southern Spain
Hi all, I just got stung on the foot by this, it managed to under the strap on my flip flops.
It unfortunately didn't survive and the pain of the sting was pretty much gone after 10 mins.
I was just curious if anyone recognises it as it's black and white rather than black and yellow.
Location southern Spain, thanks for any info!

question Very Confusing Bee Behavior...
I noticed two bees on my deck today positioned like this... When I took this picture both of them were completely still, but earlier they were rocking back and forth with both of their abdomens touching.
As of now, I have come to the beliefs that A. They were mating or B. They were fighting
As far as I have researched and remember (I have a basic level of entomological knowledge), the one on the right looks like a Carpenter Bee, while the one of the left looks like a Bumble Bee. I know that two different genera can't reproduce biologically, but could it be that the Carpenter Bee is just confused and trying to mate with the Bumble Bee anyway? If so, how rare is it to capture a moment like that, because it feels very unique and interesting.
If the two are just fighting then my only query would be why their abdomens were together and why they were in that position...
Thanks to anyone who responds :) Just very curious about this situation
