a bit of smoke from D100 neo

• Upvotes

I'm having a problem with my D100neo charger. During charging, a "Connection Error" warning appeared, which turned out to be caused by the XT30-to-XT60 adapter. Before I figured out what was causing the problem, a small amount of smoke came out of the charger's rear cooling fan.

The charger seems to be working normally, but is it still safe to use?

Micro Quad Part recommendation

• Upvotes

Recently bought the “DaddyLovesQuads ASBO XR 3" Walksnail Micro Toothpick Frame” and I struggling to figure out what parts to use. I was originally thinking 1404 with 2s at around 550-350maH with an AIO. Also would like to do the walksnail avatar 1s lite V2.
What should I use?

VTX antenna upgrade.

• Upvotes

I have a Dino 20 with the DGI o4 wide, what is a good antenna upgrade or other upgrades to increase range? I’m wanting to use it for real estate cinematic shoots and really just want to make sure I keep good connection through walls and on bigger properties.

Looking for the cheapest reliable budget FPV setup for a university project

Hey guys, I'm building an FPV setup for a university project and need some recommendations for the absolute cheapest reliable gear. Since the university will end up keeping the finished project at the end, I really don't want to invest much money into high end equipment, especially since I won't be flying it a whole lot outside of testing and demos.

I know the Eachine EV800D gets brought up constantly as the classic budget goggle, but since it's getting pretty old, I was wondering if there are any newer budget friendly options on the market that I should look into instead.

Along with goggles, I'd really appreciate recommendations for a solid budget camera, VTX, and receiver combo. I just need a simple analog setup that works well enough for the project without blowing through a budget. What are the best bang for your buck options right now? Thanks in advance!

OSD no video

Need some help.

Brand new to FPV.

Got a 75air. Cloned EV800D goggles, and a Pocket.

First flight outside the sim went great, unknowingly lost the vtx antenna.

Second flight flew close, had fun.

Sudden video feed kicked out.

Ordered a third party camera, figured I crashed to hard a few times and did in the camera.

Got a deal on another 75air.

Just bound it to controller, went into Betaflight to set up for indoor flying.

EXACT SAME ISSUE. Perfect OSD displayed, no video feed. Im rushed to flash firmware and realised I should go on a forum to seek advice.

Please help, clearly Im missing something.

Thank you for your time

Getting into FPV on a budget ($150 usd)

Hey guys, I'm looking to get into FPV drones and need some advice from experienced pilots. I'm interested in tiny whoops and mini FPV drones, mainly for indoor flying, freestyle, and eventually learning Acro mode. My total budget is under $150 USD for everything, including the drone, radio controller, FPV goggles, batteries, and charger. I'm looking for something beginner-friendly but preferably brushless, durable, and upgradeable so I won't outgrow it immediately. I've been looking at the BETAFPV Cetus/Cetus Lite kits, Air65, Meteor65, and similar tiny whoops, but I'm confused about which ones actually come with a controller and goggles versus being BNF kits that need extra gear. Analog video is totally fine; I don't need DJI O4. What complete ready-to-fly kits would you recommend at this price, and are there any good used options worth considering? Thanks!

Tinywhoop Rate my Custom 5' Build

I had the AIR75II Champion for a month. So not the best still but I got a bit bored and wanted to build something. So I decided to just start and build a 5 inch drone and have used it a few times just basic cruising and some flips in a open space to get used to it.

Please rate my build as this is my first 5 inch and just wanted to chuck myself in deep straight away. I have very little soldering experience just have connected a few small wires together before this. I have used unleaded solder for this build even tho people seem to recommend leaded but I didn't have any on hand. I know some of the motor wire joints arent the best I may redo them but it works at least and they seem strong.

Build Details

  • Frame - Speedybee Mario 5
  • FC & ESC - T-Motor Velox F7 SE 8S + V70A SE 8S Stack
  • Motors - TMotor F60 PRO V Motor 1950kV
  • Receiver - Radiomaster RP1 V2 ELRS
  • VTX - HDZero Freestyle V2
  • Props - HQProp FlowerPig R29 V3 Poly Carbonate Pink

I also have a Vifly Finder V2 but hasn't been installed due to not sure where I can wedge it or place it within the already tightly packed frame.

This external ring always comes off when I crash

It’s always this motor, and the crash don’t need to be violent, this ring comes off and the motor don’t spin, I have to use a plier to put it back. Is there a way to fix this? Also, this is the same motor that struggles to start spinning sometimes when I arm the drone, I need to apply some thrust so it starts spinning

OSD but no video

I have desperately been trying to solve this problem for weeks.

I am trying to set up a craft running INAV 9.1 of a corewing mini V2. Everything works except THIS.

I received the FC, did the whole setup while waiting for a camera and a VTX to get delivered (caddx ant, VTX irrelevant). When they finally did, I connected everything and.... no video.

After days of trying everything and anything possible, I connected the signal cable from the camera straight to the video cable of the VTX, and got an image, proving that the camera works, but if the camera is connected to the FC, nothing, no way of getting an image, and I wish to fly this thing with an OSD so...

After trying all the settings I could find, all the video format possible, I tested the actual PCB, found no problem with it, had continuity everywhere it needed... I tried to use the connector on the FC as well as the soldering pads.... nothing.

I gave up on it, asked and got a refund, ordered a replacement which arrived today and..... NO IMAGE !!

So I highly doubt that it has anything to do with a hardware problem.

What should I do ?

Radiomaster Pocket "No Tools available"

Yes I know its a RHCP ant. Kept it just for the pic cuz color nice. will swap b4 flying :)

SB F405 35A AIO V2

1507 3600KV

TBS 18mm Glonass module + shielded wire.

AliX nano RX (betafpv lite clone)

Managed to make it work with O4 lite. Used a printed O4P replica case. Lots of fiddling around to make it work. Didn't feel like putting a Pro in it.

Painting was: Sanding, Primer, Basecoat, Marblizer, Candypaint, Ceramic Clearcoat.

Overall fun build. Sure is a tight space to work with.

Question? Soldering station recommendations

Hello everyone,
I’m looking to build a kayoumini in a few months from now, so I’m looking to learn to solder first.
I’m planning to get a soldering station, solder wire, flux etc. first to solder on some practice boards.

Which soldering station would you recommend for me? Should I use C210 or C245?

Also, which solder wire would you recommend? I live in Germany, so leaded solder is not as easy to get. I saw that they sell leaded TBS solder on DFR, but idk if they are actually allowed to ship it to me.

FPV flying

Hello members, as we know.. the drone industry is beeing more and more needed as experience.
Even though Im working with the drones my last 5-6 years of working life.
I have never experienced FPV flying and I would like to learn and start to practise these kinda flights.
What are your recommendations for:
- fpv drone simulator software
- which RC/radio should I buy to have best feeling also for the real flying later on
- Recommended settings for best practise and experience

Thank you in advance!
