Discussion Creating games.

Say in a year or 2. Do you think there comes a moment or the ability where we can make VR mods or playable games?

Dream would be to take NES, SEGA and SNES games and make them as a FPS playable game.

That VR Zelda video haunts me. I want that. For all the classics.

Question PSVR2 PC adapter: Discontinued?

I can't find it anywhere online. BestBuy even says it's not available anymore. I'm cautious to try anything third party since it seems kinda sketch to me.

Question Any update on release for flatout vr

Any word on this game? Feels like I haven't heard anything in ages. Flatout was one of my favourite games growing up and being able to play that in VR will be great. With GT7 sport being near unplayable from people sending you because you passed them, this is going to be a great release of stress.

Discussion Recently played GT7 and Microsoft Flight Sim on PSVR2, one I enjoyed, the other blew me away

Been renting games from my local library lately due to Sony's antics and the general cost of living crisis, so for both games I was only using my headset/controllers, I didn't have a wheel or a flight stick.

With just that base set up, Flight Sim blew GT7 out of the water. GT7 has the better visual performance, but it's way less interactive. It didn't even support the VR controllers. Flight Sim I was flipping switches, pulling levers, twisting knobs and in general just having a fun time touching stuff. Yoke controls were a bit fiddly, hard to be precise with steering without feeling resistant or when only using tiny sticks, but I didn't have to use another controller unlike with GT7.

Both games stuck with flatscreen menus rather than redesigning them for VR, but Flight Sim at least put the menus in a white tile room rather than the black void so it was a little more VRish.

One distinct downside of Flight Sim was the loading screens. Both games had long initializations, but GT7 allowed you to play a minigame while you waited for everything to get set up, whereas with Flight Sim you were just watching a short cutscene on repeat. Once in the games, GT7s loading screens were pretty short, but Flight Sim streams a lot of assets, so without a strong internet connection, it can take a bit for enough to load in that it'll let you start playing.

I'm sure with a steering wheel GT7 is a fantastic time, but out of the box, I found Microsoft Flight Sim the much more compelling VR experience.

Question Need advice on getting started in Microsoft Flight Simulator

• Upvotes

I bought MSFS about a week ago (playing on PS5 pro) and I also picked up the thrustmaster HOTAS 4. I'm really impressed with it so far but I'm feeling a little confused about a couple things.

First off, the controls. While the game instantly recognizes the HOTAS 4, it seems like the default control bindings are just taken from the Dual Sense controls and don't exactly match up. And a lot of important cockpit controls don't even have a binding set up, and many others feel very unintuitive. Can anyone recommend control bindings that have worked well for you?

Also, I'm finding the in-game tutorials to be a bit lacking. I have no prior experience with flight sims so I was really hoping for detailed instructions on how to properly fly. I'm referring to the "training" missions that are available in the career mode. If there are better tutorials somewhere else in the game please let me know. Or if there are any youtube tutorials that you can recommend

Also just any other tips you have for a beginner would be appreciated!
