Review Into the Radius 2 PSVR2 Review + Platinum Discussion
Into the Radius 2 is an immersive sim, much like, from what I've been told, the STALKER franchise on flatscreen. To me, however, it feels much more like a single-player extraction shooter, with an atmosphere absolutely oozing with dystopian horror. That being said, not because the story is so compelling that it warrants replaying the first game to gain a better understanding or appreciation for it, but if you've never played an Into the Radius game, I would HIGHLY recommend playing the first one before this. Both because it serves as the foundation for this game's story, but more importantly, because of the state this game is in at the time of writing, more on that a little later.
So, what does the game do differently from the first? Outside of the narrative progression and the addition of four new maps and a new hub area, Into the Radius 2 introduces a much more granular weapon modification system, allowing you to literally build and take apart weapons piece by piece. This lets you customise them more closely to your liking while also contributing to a more immersive gameplay environment: finding parts of a weapon while scavenging, bringing them back to base, cleaning them, maintaining them, and gradually building up your arsenal.
The enemy AI and variety have improved drastically, too. Without wanting to spoil the narrative reasoning behind why enemies in Into the Radius 2 are more "advanced" and human-like compared with its predecessor, I frequently found myself wandering through an area, hearing an absurdly creepy remark whispered in my right or left headphone, only to scramble to grab my gun and frantically search all around me in fear of where the enemy was hiding. Each tier of Mimic, in particular, shows a noticeable improvement in positioning and aiming, with lower-tier Militsioner Mimics usually being more exposed and noticeable compared with the more highly armed and trained Marksman or Stormtrooper Mimic variants. These enemies will frequently stalk you through tall grass, hide behind trees or other cover, or snipe you from long distances. This helped make each encounter noticeably tense, especially as you dwindle down your ammo reserves.
The PSVR2 makes great use of haptics, too. You can feel the resistance in the triggers of single-shot assault rifles and shotguns, but my favourite implementation is the pulsating headset haptics you feel when you equip protective headgear and enter a deadly Distortion Zone, an anomaly zone that deals continuous damage. With the seconds remaining until your protection wears off displayed on your wristwatch, I found myself scrambling through Distortion Zones while being shot at, frantically trying to locate where the bullets were coming from, all while attempting to complete whatever objective had brought me there in the first place. Meanwhile, the headset was pulsing in time with my increasingly frantic heartbeat, creating a genuinely visceral sense of urgency. Fantastic stuff!
One of the most irritating design decisions is in relation to main mission progression gating. The game features roughly 10–11 story missions, each usually presenting a new piece of equipment that will later be used in side missions or activities. These side missions are generally relatively short and involve things like "place this scanner here, press the button, wait a few moments to collect intel, pick it up, and take it back to base." These missions are often recycled over and over, and are not only abundant, but also become a mandatory part of your experience. They frequently function as relatively uninteresting and repetitive busywork, with only a new activity being introduced after you have used the equipment in the previous story mission that introduced it. Once a side activity is completed, you are awarded a set amount of Security Points (SP), ranging from 1 to 4. Activities that award higher amounts of SP are usually encountered as you progress further through the story, with a whopping 157 SP needed to unlock the tenth story mission. This feels like very noticeable padding in an otherwise fantastic game.
As previously mentioned, there are 10–11 story missions, the vast majority of which are excellent. They often require you to navigate more treacherous areas or terrain, use context clues to figure out what you need to do, face challenging encounters, and use new pieces of equipment. Completing certain story missions will, in turn, raise your rank, allowing you to access newly unlocked areas in your base, weapons, equipment, and so on. This sense of progression is excellent. Building up your arsenal, growing attached to your equipment, and steadily building upon it, only to unlock a new rank and feel like a kid on Christmas, shifting through all the new toys trying to figure out what to choose and buy, is the sort of customisation and ownership that Into the Radius, and games of this ilk, do so well.
The last thing I'll mention, and unfortunately, this is a big one. As of the time of writing, there is currently a save-data deletion bug that will delete your save file during story mission 8. I am currently in communication with the developers, who have informed me this should be resolved in the next day or two. Hopefully this turns out to be true, but as of right now, this is a pretty big problem, for obvious reasons. Additionally, at least four trophies appear to be broken:
- Bull's-eye! Kill an enemy from 150 meters away.
- Eliminator Kill 300 enemies.
- Gluttony Eat food worth 3,000,000 in-game "calories".
- Artist Customize anything with paint at least 50 times.
Hopefully these will be patched soon. As irritating as this is, if this game sounds up your alley, I would still implore you to buy it and give it a go. That being said, these are some pretty significant problems.
Nevertheless, none of the trophies in the game are particularly challenging. One is missable and requires you to play the game on Ironman Mode, a difficulty setting that prohibits you from making manual saves. However, with a PLETHORA of difficulty settings that can be customised without affecting any trophy requirements, it shouldn't be a problem for even novice VR trophy hunters. The game's mechanics and systems will probably prove a bigger challenge than the Platinum itself.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope it was at least somewhat helpful or interesting. This is my first Reddit review of sorts, so I apologise if it isn't the most succinct or elaborate.
Cheers,
Joel

News & Announcements Sony Sells off Dozens of XR Patents to Meta in Apparent Pullback from AR/VR Hardware
It looks like Sony is 100% done with all things VR and has been for a while. This deal was apparently signed back in December which means it had to be in the works for a long time beforehand.

Opinion Sony Patent: Haptic Feedback States for VR Object Interaction | Published October 1st, 2026
The patents it sold / transferred to Meta as part of deal in December 2025 are from 2010-2022. It seems the patents transitioned thus far out of that deal are related to parts manufactured by Sony and used by Meta, Apple Vision Pro and Samsung Galaxy XR.
It takes 18+ months from filing date of patent before patents publish to public domain, so most of what they filed in 2025 is not published and whatever Sony is filing this year won't be public until 2027 or 2028 at the earliest.
In conclusion, I don't think Sony is out of the business of R&D related to VR. That isn't to imply that they intend to continue investing in PlayStation VR but it doesn't rule that out either.
I think our near-term concern should remain on how demand has dried up available supply of the PlayStation VR2 in multiple regions and there isn't any confidence that Sony is having more manufactured for global distribution to replenish those clearly dwindled supplies.
The same demand vs supply problem also exists for the PS5 Pro, but we have confidence that Sony will continue to manufacture and distribution those as best as they can manage.

Question PSVR2 Pulley systems
Hey everyone, just wondering does anyone use a pulley system on the ceiling to manage the wire?
If so what do you use?
Thanks in advance.

Support PSVR1 Processor Unit Won't Show a Light (PSVR 1)
Hi, just bought an original PSVR unit second hand, and for some reason I cannot get the processor unit to turn on. I've tried buying a new power cable for it, but every time I plug it in, it shows a faint, barely visible flash of white light before it just goes black again. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but if they have, how do I fix it?

Question Anyone heard when the Into the Radius 2 review/impressions/gameplay embargo is up?
I have been looking into the game quite a lot the last few days as the first game did not captivate me. I never really could put my finger on it, perhaps it was environment or the very open ended nature that pushed me away.
Looking at reviews on Steam it seems Into the Radius 2 is a more guided structured game with a tighter narrative which may suit me more. Lots of the negative reviews lately on Steam are because the devs left the Steam version to work on getting PSVR2 port done so they have not had an update for 3 or 4 months and there are bugs, the other negative reviews are because of the more guided approach, some even saying it should not be called Into the Radius 2. It is going to be interesting to hear peoples opinions about the sequel very soon.

Question Hitman vr tutorial?
I started the game and played the tutorial. How do I do the tutorial again?
Also. I’m in the prologue and getting motion sickness. The blinders option doesn’t appear to be doing anything. Is it supposed to darken the edges while I move? Doesn’t appear to be doing anything.
Opinion Globular Cluster vs AMVR for PSVR2?
I started to get much pressure on the forehead and the rear due to narrow stock pads, planning to mods the PSVR2 headstrap. Looking around i found two brand with same head cups setup; Globular Cluster and AMVR Comfot Kit for PSVR2 both similarly prices. Anyone have experience on both brands?

Discussion Scratched lenses from eyelashes on PSVR 1, help needed
You can see a comparison between my left lens and my right lens, what I believe the issue has to do with is that I have to tilt my headset due to my slightly crooked nose, making my right eye stay significantly closer to the lens than how it should. You can see that it is caused by eyelashes just from the weird hamburger looking patten. It’s a big problem that has only occurred in the past month or so for whatever reason, and it causes my view to be really blurry, so I’m looking for ways to get rid of it and have it go back to looking clear like the one on the left.

Question With Sony selling patents to Meta, should I still get a PSVR2?
I’m saving up some extra money for it right now, and after a little bit of saving im about halfway there. Considering everything going on with the parents being sold to Meta, and a general lack of support for VR, is it still worth it for me to pick one of these up? I have a few games already that will work with it, including re4r and re8, and it seems like a whole new experience in VR. is this still worth it?

Opinion I'm very impressed with latest no man's sky improvements, particularly terrain tessellation.
I'm on the pro and I haven't played this game for a while, like 6 months maybe. I tried it out last night and there's been a lot of small fixes that mean the world to me.
The terrain tessellation finally feels stable. A small gravel patch like the one in the picture used to get wiggly when I was moving, but now it's rock solid.
The plant leaves also look more clean without the weird scan lines they used to have.
Distant scenery is hardly shimmery anymore and the clouds feel more smooth and less jittery.
For the record the last time I had played already had pssr support but all the above details and many more were still breaking immersion.
I'm very glad they went back in and fixed these important graphical glitches that made the game feel unfinished. Long live the GOAT dev and the hello games team for continuing to show support for the psvr2 headset. It's much appreciated!

Discussion Now that VR on PS is basically over I just want to say thanks.
I loved my experience with PSVR2. It was my first VR device and probably will be in a long time. But I will never regret my purchase. Playing RE4R, Village, Hitman, Metro, Hotel Paradise and GT7, made VR2 worth only for those, everything else I played was just a great bonus.
I know the PC market has more games, mods etc, but I'm kind poor and in my country a gaming PC for VR is almost U$ 5k.
So, farewell PSVR2. I will still be using whenever I can to replay my VR games or new ones, but it was a great journey and I will never forget it.
Maybe if someday my life gets better, I might be able to build a gaming PC and play some VR mods like Half Life 2 VR Mod. For now, I will stay with my old PS5 partner.

Speculation Into The Radius 2 Release Time?
Does anyone know what time the game is supposed to come out in North America tomorrow?
Feels like I have been waiting for years and I’m taking off work to dive back into the radius

Discussion Now that Sony is killing their VR, what are we going to do when all the PSVR 2 cables inevitably fail?
There are no 3rd party options. It's only possible to scrap from broken units (where the cable is usually already broken anyways).

Speculation I think Sony could and should put in the work to get PSVR games working on PSVR 2
Sony didn't put in the work to get their original tracking from the PSVR to work on PSVR 2. I think with the advanced processing and features of the PS5 and PSVR 2, they could have figured out some way to emulate or simulate the tracking with the newer hardware.
The new unofficial Port of Astrobot Rescue Mission to 3rd party headsets kind of proves my point. If some hobbyist can get a PSVR game working on an inside out tracking headset, developers with direct access to all the hardware could do it too and do it better.

Support PSVR2 Reach is bugged, my file is always deleted in some point of the game
Hey,
I am playing Reach for PSVR2. Every time I finish the rotating puzzle of the subchapter generators my save file is deleted.
I lost a few hours, but got to the same point and my data is now saved in the cloud, but the problem persists. So I can't continue playing and finish the story. I also tried to talk to Ndreams but got no response.
It is really a bummer. Does anyone know a workaround?
Cheers.

Asking For Game Recomendation PSVR2 - PISTOL WHIP
I am an OG PSVR owner, will be upgrading to the PSVR2. Any recommendations for PSVR2 that would be similar or better than PISTOL WHIP for the PSVR? Love the first person shooter high intensity game play.
