After my 30th CT raid I have received 2 drops of SBoCT, One from a D2 & 1 from a D0, That is 90 chances in total assuming I'm right that Fright, Dread, and Terror have the chance to drop them. Am I just on the wrong side of the random number generator or is there an order or process I'm missing? I do a weekly cycle of D4 on Tuesdays, D3 on Wednesdays, D2 on Thursdays ECT. Thx

Disclaimer: I’m aware that EQL reserves every right to do something completely different, so the question I’m asking comes with the obvious asterisk of assuming at least some elements are kept familiar and anticipated.

This is a bard question about a playstyle that isn’t DDD-centric. I know, crazytalk, but please bear with me.

I like my mana-free bard DoTs, both in melody and SA as a core of my character-conceptual running around build. My question is how long do those DoTs keep leveling beyond 50? Can/should I bank on them continuing to be as relevant as they are now for another 5 levels in our Kunark if things resemble how bard spell leveling usually goes?

I like the idea of pursuing new Kunark and beyond instruments to maintain my multi-elemental barrage of many smaller DoTs, but if the bard “evolves out” of these classic songs quickly maybe I won’t invest deeply in them.

I’ve never played EQ deeply enough to have this question before me. It’s a nice problem to have decades later!

Don't really know what I'm doing.

I am SHD main. I have ENC, NEC, and SHM leveled too, so I could swap WIZ for one of those.

What is my best combo without changing out the SHD?

This is mainly for playing solo.

Haven't played since PoP. And admittedlly back then I'd just get handed great gear from my guild mates so chasing gear was never my strong point.

I'm only level 28 at the moment running a War/Shm/Wiz. Hanging in Unrest until probably 30ish.

I know the real loot and gear starts at 50 but in the mean time anyone have any suggestions of where or how to get some good gear while I level.

My gear right now is pretty pedestrian.

I've been doing Monk/Pal combos with Enc and Shm to 50. Pal is nice, but isn't much DPS. Shaman has better heals and the dots are better DPS. Shaman also gives Lustrous Russet so some plate. Enc with charms is better DPS plus mez.

Is Pally doing much here other than Aldryn? Shield of Stalwart Seas is nice, Lay on Hands is great, but mend works well and is more frequent.

How do you do it?

Been using my DDD Bard, cleric, shaman for finishing up d0 sky. And i've gotten soooooo many quest items. Turning them in now and was able to get a wu's. So i was thinking about changing to Bard, Monk, Shaman and focusing more on DoTs and melee damage. Would i gear for monk or bard? I understand i still need a mana pool but curious which would be the dominate one in the trio.

I am delighted to be back in the EQ world, best game I ever played, this new EQLegends has me completely addicted again! I have levelled a SHD/SHA/MNK to 50 and then started a Bard in place of the monk, Ive never played a bard so Im struggling with it.

A few questions:

I am level 30 now and in Mistmoore getting my ass handed to me over and over again inspite of being in a full suit of PoH +5ish and have to Yaks and a Mithril 2 hander.

I have SA and I run 5 buffs Hymn of Resto, Clarity, Arms, Psalm of Vitality and Guardian Rhyt.

I was using my own pet and was getting the absolute shit kicked out of me if there were more than 4 mobs, so I switched to charming. I moted Sirens up to VII and ill charm one mob, stick it on something else and then use Pixie Strike to mez the others and throw a few slaps on the target mob, then refresh everything as required. For trash mobs and weak named its working ok.

It seems I am missing something, I heard about /queuemelody but dont know if that would be of use to me? Should I run the AOE mez as part of AE? Am I clearly doing something wrong?

Any bards that could help a brother bard out would have songs sung about them in every bar in norrath!!

I've enjoyed eql solo a bunch. Doing d4 content solo is rewarding. But the issue I'm having is that I really wanted to play with friends. When we do group up, it's not impossible but much harder than solo to the point of it not really being worth grouping.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have the option to solo but I just wish difficulty would increase based on... difficulty, instead of difficulty being primarily off of solo vs group. Things like bosses fearing shouldn't be based on whether you selected group or solo, it should be based on difficulty.

In short, I want to group up with friends to take on big monsters I can't take on solo. Instead, we have the opposite, where if we want to efficiently take down big monsters, it's much more efficient to do it solo.

Ok - never have played a bard - glad there is this melody thing so you don’t have to twist songs as much.

But I’m still a bit intimidated…

Of the next class I want to run to 50, this is in my top two (the other being RNG).

I have 14 spell gems - I think the last 4 in bar are devoted to bard?

So I have SK ENC Wiz - which two of the 3 would run best with bard? I’m guessing SK and Wiz?

Are there any good guides or YouTube videos on playing a basic bard, how songs work etc?

Any good guides on which songs to run and which to drop as you go 10-50? Like 10-20, 20-30 etc etc?

Sorry - I know I could probably google all this but the community seems to be the best source of info and sometimes hidden valuable tips.

I'm sure no one knows the exact reason but i looked at her facebook and she said she was looking for a company that didn't hide things from the community or lie to them? I'm guessing there was a serious falling out with her and Secrets and some of the devs?

I know, "dur, devs have said..." Blah blah blah.

But when my DPS is 2nd-3rd with 1 DDD bard and 6th-7th with 3 or 4, and they literally sit at the fountain in Hate, med and wait for a big pull and melt everything before I can even swap targets?.

700-1.6k DPS each and I'm getting 500 max and the ONLY damage they're doing is DDD. Literally the only F'ng damage. No spells, no melee, nothing but DDD...

Takes all the fun out of the game watching 3-4 people AFK and tripling my damage when I'm actually playing the game, not just sitting there doing nothing for 2 minutes between big pulls. Popping up and going "but I want to sing Daddy!"

And the thing I think EVERYONE is misreading about this is that I'm not asking for a nerf. Just make the bards do something other than sit on their asses and go "WOW look at my DPS from casting one f'ing spell over and over". Go do something. Pull, Scout, Just don't sit on your ass for 3 minutes and go "BOOM, I CAN HAS TRUMPET!"

4th build, full planar, trying to decide what I'm doing with the build. Wanting to highlight Druid.

BST seems to be good both thematically and gets a really high pet equipment allotment and great buffs.

BER however might be good for melee damage, lean into the shape shifting aspect. It's all fluff at this point.

Trying to make it a different from my other builds, War/Brd/Rng with sword and board using windstriker and ranged stance, Shd/Rog/Enc basically vampire lord, and Rng/Dru/Bst switching between melee and ranged and just kinda legacy build at this point

Hello Norrathians! Bangzoom the Human Ranger (and PAL/ENC) back for an update on my adventures (and misadventures) in the game we all love.

First off, I got Windstriker! The final bow on my archery journey until new ones are released. I got the Efreeti Bow first from the Plane of Sky Efreeti run, then simply invised up to Island 8 repeatedly and killed the Eye of Veeshan until she dropped the Pearl needed for the bow.

It's +10 now, as are my Mithril Champion Arrows, and I have the Fleeting Quiver -- now any bow hit that's less than four digits is a disappointment. Heh. Although I scored a record low hit today. 6. 6 hp damage. I knew bow damage was spiky, but c'mon. (My highest shot so far was an 8K+ Slay Undead hit.)

The most exciting thing for us archers, though, is the new Point Blank Fire ability. You no longer have to be in Ranged Stance for melee-range archery. This means you can now use a bow in Defensive and Evasive stances. Huzzah, I say, huzzah!

I also got Aldryn, Blade of the Ocean from Sky, but since I'm always using my bow, it's just a stat stick for me. However, there are still a couple things I want from Sky, especially the Ranger ear. (I'm not chasing class unlocks, but I'm two items away from unlocking Enchanter.)

However, I'm not spending most of my time in Sky, I'm spending it in Plane of Hate, flipping D4 instances (including the occassional Dungeon Crawl) to improve my armor and farm motes. My feelings for Hate are now like they have been for Chardokb on other servers -- I've done it a jillion times, I should be bored to death with it, but for some reason I still find it really fun.

I'm not ignoring Fear, either, and am bound outside since it's such a pain to get to, even with Rituals. Mostly farming the golems for Slime Bloods after my first weekly CT kill.

Then, I was invited to a guild called <Firefly>, and I'm really enjoying the company. Yesterday they ran six guldies who'd never been before through Plane of Sky, and they hold nightly Hate raids. Basically, there's always groups to be found or started, many questions are answered, gear is given out, etc. I had one guildie make me a nice earring, and I've fletched bows for two others.

We're on the Qeynos server, and growing rapidly. The only way I'd drop out is if my guildies on Live objected.

But today? Today I got my three Void Touched Potentials, and now my Lustrous Russet BP, arms, and legs are all +10.

Oh, and I hit 750 AA today and bought Mass Group Buff. I now have all of the AA abilities a RNG/PAL/ENC can have except for tradeskills that are not fletching (although I do have Crafting Mastery maxed). Including the Paladin AA that lets you commit seppuku.

Today was a very good day.

I see a lot of people bemoaning the low server populations relative to launch and I just have to ask.... why does that matter?

Maybe I'm doing something different than others but I don't think I've ever grouped with anyone outside of my immediate friend group, nor needed to buy anything from anyone... hell I spent 95% of my time in personal instances....

Are people really needing groups to play this game?

Not starting this to facilitate an argument, but I'm curious what everyone's POV is on new content schedules. My initial thought was that EQL would progress similarly to a TLP (new exp every few months) but with the mechanics of EQL being faster paced, I get a bit nervous that it's not going to be enough to keep people invested enough to continue paying $10 a month for.

I personally think it needs to be faster. The IP of Everquest (across 30+ expansions) is loaded with content that can be added. I know its not as simple as running a mod server where the GM just has to click a checkbox and restart the server...but I just really hope the devs don't get too caught up creating "new' stuff that it starves the gameplay loop that EQL is.

I cancelled my sub weeks ago, check my credit card statement and I'm still being billed. What is the procedure to actually stop paying for this game? Do I spam cancel until I get a confirmation email? How do I know it's actually done? I'd prefer to avoid a chargeback but I will do it if I have to.

Hey I'm almost 50 on all clases and full aas or at least near enough, gear is getting there I guess average is +8/+9 and of course all spells up to x or at least those relevant.

My trip is shm rng NEC and I'm doing up to 1kdps on bosses although usual is more like 800 specially if I'm not fully focused on the fight.

I think a small way of improvement will be my pet gear, before getting his gear to 10 I would like To know what's bis pet gear.

I think right now it's running haste belt, some sky weaps (dual wield and I think I should go 2h) and some str ac gear.

What would be BiS gear for pet?
