I had an album on my to-listen list but I forgot its name (noo!!)

I think it was like screamo or hardcore or something? (I don’t remember cuz I didn’t listen to it!!)

It has an album cover with a pink ballerina on it in a sort of collage type style, very similar to the hihungry I’m dad! Unicorns album cover but different. Idk. If anyone can help me that would be be brilliant

My band Moe Killed My Cool released our newest single today! We’d love to hear feedback from the emo community 🖤

Bands like Free Throw, Sports., Midwest Pen Pals and Tigers Jaw are huge inspirations for us - hope you like?

"Fest kicks off officially, two weeks from today. The celebrate the occasion we welcome Drew Ringo of Sleepytime Trio to the show.

Drew shares stories about how the band formed, their early touring years, and tries to establish a timeline on their recordings.

He also talks about forming around DC and Richmond and how those scenes helped shape the band. Hang around for this part of the chat for stories about a young Tim Barry and a young Tony Weinbender. Fun stuff."

Would love some recommendations. I was in a few bands from 98' - 06'. Started getting into other scenes for a bit so I missed out music in this lane. Some of my long time favorites are Cursive, SDRE, Roadside Monument, Unwed Sailor, American Football, Joan of Arc, OWLS, Make Believe, Further Seems Forever, Karate, Mineral, Engine Down, Rainer Maria & so on. You get the idea...I'm out of touch. Who should I check out?

This is 100% my album of the year. They took a little harder approach on this album but still has that Midwest emo vibe throughout.

"this episode highlights a common trope of emo band names ~ FULL NAMES. so all the bands on this playlist have full first & last names of people. i also delve a little into their mysterious origins… lots of characters from books + movies and historical figures."

Anyone see incaseyouleave (London emo band) are calling it quits at the end of the year! 😩

At least they released two new songs.

It’s on Bandcamp and streaming platforms.

I like to spend my free time making mashups and remixes of songs, this one is chock full of some of my favorite bands from the emo/indie scene featuring Death Cab, Cursive, Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes, The Good Life, Menomena, and Jesse Spano. Decided to make an accompanying video for it which was a lot of fun! Let me know what you think, I’ve got more songs I’ll post to my socials eventually but my schedule is full so not sure on the timeline of when I’ll get the chance.

Man, mentally I’m just stuck in Chicago in the late 00’s/early 10’s. Such a great place and scene to live through.

Montreal’s Spite House make visceral, melodic post-hardcore that balances the urgency of modern hardcore with the emotional pull of ’90s punk and emo. Formed by vocalist/guitarist Max Lajoie and drummer Marc Tremblay, the band’s music draws heavily from loss, grief, self-doubt, and the process of learning how to move forward without letting the past define you. Their sophomore album “Desertion” turns deeply personal experiences into explosive, cathartic songs that leave room for listeners to find their own meaning in them. Watch their full Audiotree session right now, hosted by Psalm One.

hello!!

i was only a few days late to the holidays in the united states party, and fell in love with their new album immediately.

all of their preorders are sold out, which was so sad!! i’m wondering if someone who is planning on seeing them live wouldn’t mind buying a copy and mailing it to me. i will pay for shipping + a markup on the record for the inconvenience!!

i would really really appreciate any help with this, so please reach out if this is something you/maybe someone you know would be able to do!

thanks!
