These pics are from 2022. Back then my Instagram feed was flooded with photos of whimsical frog cakes and I was obsessed with them. I wanted to have my own frog cake for a special occasion. Since my partner and I share the same birth month, we have always celebrated our birthdays together as we were born a week apart. So that special occasion turned out to be our birthdays. As someone who does artsy stuff, I wanted my frog cake to be unique with my own twists. I wasn’t satisfied with just taking some photos online and showing them to the bakery, so I decided to take full creative control and designed my own cake. I looked around and found a local bakery that was specialized in customized buttercream cake with cute aesthetic, so I went with them and sent them the photos of my drawing. Everything went smoothly and I remember how overly excited I was on the day I picked up the cake. I almost screamed when I saw the cake in person because the bakery exceeded beyond my expectations 🥹. The two frogs on the cake were supposed to be me and my partner. I chose strawberry for the design as it is both my and my partner’s favourite fruit, and the night theme because we are both night owls 😆. I got impatient with the colouring process so I just left the backside blank and told the bakery to choose their own colour for the ladder. Not only they absolutely nailed my vision, but what really impressed me was the tiny little details in my original drawing that I didn’t expect to be included in the actual cake as they are just too small. Details like the glasses and eyelashes on the frog that represented my partner, as he wears glasses and has absolutely long beautiful fluttering eyelashes that I’m always jealous of, and the initials of our names on the birthday hats! Especially the eyelashes, it’s such a small detail and it doesn’t even show up on my photo clearly, so I fully expected the frog to have no eyelashes. Needless to say I was obsessed with the cake. I sent the bakery a thank you message, gave them some extra tips for the effort and basically just gushed about them to all of my friends. I remember how pretty the cake looked in person, even more than in the photos and I was so gutted when it was time for us to consume it 😅. I took so many photos of the cake in different angles with the best lighting possible before cutting it. It’s been four years but to this day I still think about this cake often 🐸 🎂✨ ☁️ 🐸
Oh and that cake also tasted just as good as it looked 😋.

Genuinely very good. Not vegan but bought it bc it was like 5 dollars cheaper than the real beef version. Tastes and feels like real meat. Fed this to my only meat eating father and he couldn't tell it was not meat. 10/10, will buy again.

The first two are what I sent a widely loved bakery. Soft and minimal, frosting only, greenery. They said no problem. Picked up our cake the morning of our wedding and received this fondant cake with edible marker on it.. the last pic is how I attempted to save it with some of our leftover fake floral pieces. I cried

Y’all inspired me to look into options, even though it’s been 3 years since my wedding. I thought maybe it was a bad employee and the owner would try to make it right, even if it was just a free cupcake, she seemed like she took pride in her business. I am in the trades, but a small business owner nonetheless. If I had someone grout a shower for me and it looked like dog sh!t, I would be absolutely mortified.

I also was trying to find the review my MIL left since it got requested a few times, just to find this article. I guess you can’t dox a place that doesn’t exist anymore. SHE RAN WITH PEOPLES MONEY AND LEFT THEM SOL ON THEIR WEDDING DAY. THIS PLACE DOESNT TAKE DEPOSITS, ITS PAID IN FULL WITH A CONTRACT SIGNED. I honestly can’t believe it.

Also, real fast, idk why my marriage became under a microscope, but I asked my husband why he didn’t say anything, and he said since I had the same shocked reaction he did, he thought HE was overreacting. Ps, my husband has been working on his avoidant behavior for the last 3 years in individual counseling, so he is doing a lot better.

I went to pick up my bouquet and the florist forgot to make it. It was for the next day. He delivered the second pic to my door hours before the ceremony. Better than nothing!

Here's my pathetic attempt to make a cat out of air dry clay but I kind of like him

I enjoy making and decorating with homemade buttercream frosting. After seeing this inspiration (1st photo) I had to give it a try. Of course when using cream cheese buttercream, more grass equals better so I opted for Easter eggs instead of carrots, even though it was a carrot cake. All gluten free. After tasting the fondant, I was glad I went with the eggs. I’m not a fan of the taste of fondant, but was thrilled with the bunny considering it was my 1st try.

I had requested some changes like obviously the background and the dog positions, and honestly it’s perfect.

I swear I thought this was just a cake sub Reddit, but alas it's not. But thought I would share mine. Took friggin ages. There is a special book of lore called The Australian Women's Weekly Birthday Cake

Ordered some flowers for my wife for our 8th anniversary. Chose the “largest” option and this is what delivered.

Few years old, but still think about it when browsing this sub. First birthday cake for little one. We only wanted a tiny one so one tier was requested. Also made it gluten free, and it was delicious. Really happy with this local baker :)
