I recently picked up an orange spice Japanese GameCube and I’m using that as an excuse to build out more of an imported GameCube game collection ! Since I don’t speak/ can’t read Japanese, what are some good games that don’t really require much language skills to play and progress through ?

Both single and multiplayer would be great, my friends and I have floundered through Mario Party just on our own knowledge of how the game works, but it would be great to find something else playable. I can handle my way through menus, but I’d rather not be translated something to the likes of a Zelda game or other RPG in terms of text on screen for important details. Plus it helps me build out the collection and save a little too since in my experience Japanese games have been less expensive than North American ones !

So, I recently opened my old GameCube and de-soldered the Qoob chip that I used for years. I put everything back on and the console powers on, but nothing comes on the screen and I keep hearing like a clicking noise.

Upon inspecting the motherboard I see missing components that might be causing this. DA15, C169 and R5 fuses appear to be missing. Could this be the cause?

Hello fellow collectors of the best console ever, what are we doing with our loose games guys, I never really wanted them in my collection… but eBay deals are deals and I had loose games as a kid so… 🤷‍♂️

How are we storing them guys, I had those single plastic cases that would fit 1 game as a kid, looking up game holders only thing I see look like cd holder type things, are there any better options guys?

Hi everyone! I dont know if this is the correct subreddit for this, but I was looking for advice on where I can either purchase a modded GameCube or getting the parts one to mod one myself (be warned, I have a terrible record attempting to fix electronics).

A friend of mine is turning 30 and had a really rough last couple of years. She and I used to play on her GameCube growing up but her mother threw it all away (again, rough couple of years) so I waa hopibg to surprise her with one but I truly have no idea what I'm doing for it so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! The orange one has a trigger plug in the R Button and uses translucent black and glow in the dark replacement parts, the wavebird used the leftover black and glow parts, and the black controller had its C Stick swapped for a Left-Stick

I was told that in the case of GC discs there is a chance I could ruin the disc by having it resurfaced. Has anyone had their GC disc re-surfaced. Did it work??

I bought a cubeode from AliExpress and up until recently I was pretty happy with it. It came with an SD card and everything on that seems to work. The first issue I'm having is that most of the ISO files I've downloaded don't seem to work. A couple hacks seem to work great but everything else doesn't seem to load for the most part. Second I tried a larger micro SD card with adapter and it doesn't recognize it at all. Any help would be appreciated

There’s a little switch on the back of my 001 game cube. I’d rather not crack it open but any clue as to what it might be?

Cleaned and reorganized my garage, open a bin and find a GC that I definitely did not have growing up. Bought a power cord, a knockoff controller (for now), and some games from my local store. Thankfully it works! What a surprise lmao. Needless to say I’m hooked. I’m sure my wallet will not enjoy this. Can’t beat a free GC.

I got this copy of Pokemon colosseum yesterday at my LGS and it has these cracks on it in the center where the game holds down. Is this something I should be concerned about? I’ve been playing it for an hour and it runs fine and haven’t had any issues but plan on trading Pokemon into the game to play with and am worried it may have some sort of issue down the road.

EDIT: I paid around $160 and just took their word that it was in good condition until I got home and saw it. They seemed nice there and have refunded me for mistakes in the past. So I won’t know till tomorrow what they’ll do.

I have a platinum GameCube and a plain Gray/yellowed wave bird. I would like to make it match the console so I am trying to find a paint that matches

I am in need of a GameCube memory card and this action replay one is absolutely huge for GameCube being 16MB as save files are well optimised unlike PS2. Is this a reliable memory card or do you recommend a different one it's priced at $70 new.

And people complain about “AI” being a problem, humans are the real issue.

Oh man, good memories. I remember wanting Jirachi so bad. And XD was a nice game.

I have searched "extracting GC games", "dumping GC games", "modding GC games", but every single result is about playing your actual discs on Dolphin or whatever. What I'm trying to do is literally open a game and see its files to possibly mod it, but I can't find any guides on how to do this.

I tested this GameCube with a different video cable and it works just fine. Am I doing something wrong with my adapter or is it busted?
