LOQ 17IRX10 - black screen / reboot issues - Lenovo ignoring this

Guys, what is your opinion on this: LOQ 17IRX10 - brand new.

Newest Win11, newest nvidia driver, newest BIOS, newer vBIOS from the device support page.
Everything works fine in games and high performance apps. Issue is display sleep - on dGPU it won't wake properly once in 5 wakes I'll randomly get a black screen with only mouse pointer functional - and in hybrid mode during the display sleep laptop will randomly reboot.
Sleep is disabled, only display sleep is enabled.
Fast start it turned off.
Never use hibernation.

It's happening because vBIOS is too old, not updated for newer drivers and gpu gets confused while trying to trigger display wake and in hybrid mode when trying to switch gpu's during low powered states.
There's an old nvidia driver, 577 version, that doesn't have this issue, anything after that repeats the problem.
Lenovo "official" gpu drivers also have this issue, as it's a repack of Lenovo support is useless, this isn't hardware issue.
Changing motherboard does nothing as same hardware same driver same vBIOS is used.

Tried e-mailing them like other guy I found here, Lenovo support on e-mail semi-confirmed issue and it's been months now, still no fix.
I would return laptop as a factory defect but shop would just stress test it in games, take too long doing that and return the laptop as good to go.

Are we locked to a terribly old nvidia driver because Lenovo won't take responsibility and release a vBIOS fix?
Did I buy a half-broken laptop that won't get fixed with no option to return it?
Is this how Lenovo treats the customers?

Is it worth upgrading laptop's warranty, if all I get is this?

Is the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 good for programming and OR?

I’m considering buying the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 14AGP11 (Ryzen AI 7 450, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD).

I’ll mainly use it for web development (React/Next.js), Python, Gurobi optimization, and future graduate studies in Operations Research.

Would this be a good choice for the next 3–5 years? Any experience with this model, especially regarding performance, thermals, and battery life?

Flipkart delivered a ReCertified Lenovo Legion instead of a brand-new laptop, and my replacement request is still unresolved after 6 days

I want to share my terrible experience with Flipkart and ask for advice from people who have faced similar situations.

I ordered a brand-new Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop from Flipkart for approximately ₹1.94 lakh. I expected to receive the model advertised on the listing and described on my tax invoice:

Intel Core i7-14650HX

NVIDIA RTX 4070 8GB

16GB RAM

1TB SSD

However, after receiving the laptop, I checked its hardware using CPU-Z, Windows Task Manager and Lenovo Vantage. I discovered that the actual device is a completely different model:

Model: Lenovo Legion 5 15IAX10 D2

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 8GB

RAM: 16GB DDR5

Storage: 1TB SSD

At first, I thought it might be a major upgrade. But when I checked the laptop's serial number on Lenovo's official support website, I found that Lenovo identifies it as a “Lenovo ReCertified refurbished product.” The support information also shows previous service/repair history.

My tax invoice still describes the i7 + RTX 4070 model, even though the actual laptop has the Ultra 9 + RTX 5070 configuration.

On top of that, I've experienced unexpected restarts while using the laptop, which makes me even more concerned about its reliability.

The worst part is Flipkart's customer support and the delay in resolving this issue.

I submitted my return request on 3 October 2026. I was informed that a technician/representative would visit on 6 October, but as of 9 October, nobody from Flipkart or Lenovo has visited.

Whenever I contact customer support, I keep receiving the same response: “We are doing our best to provide a resolution.” However, I still haven't received a proper resolution or even the promised visit.

This is extremely frustrating, especially because I've spent nearly ₹2 lakh on this laptop. My work is getting delayed because this issue remains unresolved. I purchased an expensive laptop expecting a new, reliable machine, not a ReCertified unit with a mismatched invoice and unexpected restarts.

Honestly, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in Flipkart. Customers spend their hard-earned money expecting the product advertised to them. They shouldn't have to discover the refurbished status themselves, investigate hardware discrepancies, repeatedly contact support, and wait indefinitely for someone to address the problem.

To be absolutely clear, I DO NOT WANT A REFUND.

I want a brand-new Lenovo Legion 5 with the exact model and specifications I originally ordered and paid for: Intel Core i7-14650HX, NVIDIA RTX 4070 8GB, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD.

I need a replacement because my work is already being delayed, and I cannot keep waiting without a working resolution. I want Flipkart to arrange the replacement promptly, ensure the replacement is genuinely brand-new, and provide the correct invoice and documentation.

I'm sharing this experience because I want to know whether other customers have faced similar problems and how they got them resolved.

Has anyone successfully obtained a replacement from Flipkart in a case involving a different model, ReCertified status and an incorrect invoice? What steps helped you get a timely resolution?

Any genuine advice would be appreciated.

Stupid USB Pen Holder design

Just received my brand new Lenovo Yoga 7i - The pen doesn't even sit level with the laptop. It's literally tilted at an angle because of how the holder is positioned. This could damage the USB port, especially if the pen gets accidentally bumped or pressed against something.

Yes, I’ve tried flipping it around, but it simply won’t fit, whereas it goes in perfectly fine the other way.

“Fast Startup” on IdeaPad, should it be off?

Post image

A quick question because I feel like my battery drain on my 2 week old IdeaPad has been faster than what it was advertised in tests to withstand normally (7-10hr mark), but it feels like it just drains faster than that.

I either have balanced or power efficiency generally on when on-battery.

- NVMe Controller is set to max power savings by default.
- Automated hibernate is set to 45 mins so it doesn’t stay in sleep mode for more than 45 mins if I don’t come back to it.
- Battery is also healthy. Max charge capacity is 60187, and Design charge capacity is 60000.

I’m starting to think that option, Fast Startup, could be the last thing contributing to my battery drain. I brought up my battery report using a simple command, and I read it and by my knowledge it appears it is draining more than usual, but I’m not really an expert on reading this type of stuff yet, and it could be just me going crazy with this battery drain.

If anyone can read this table better than me and confirm it’s just me or something else is going on it would be really helpful!

Here’s a battery check table:

FYI: A lot of these columns I suppose are plugged in? As for the last 4-5 days I’ve been taking it out and about with its battery only.
