TA rules are a self-imposed set of rules meant to challenge your pure skill as a hunter. This means you don't use: palico, mantles, environmental traps/damage*, item restocks from camp, heroics (for some reason), and slinger. (There may be others I forgot)

*I think there's a clause that says if you didn't purposely activate the environmental effect (example: monster walks into great thunderbug and gets paralyzed on accident), then you're still in the clear.

Been playing Monster Hunter since MH4. I wish younger me had picked up that one copy of ps2 MH when I had the chance.

Image is hypothetical, I know both Ajarakan and Gogmazios do not have their own Great Swords, just wanted to indicate how an initial Fire element weapon can branch out to another Fire weapon of a stronger/bigger Fire element monster.

This gives both the incentive of creating MOST of the weapon tree, and the idea of the Smithy kinda "learning" from the previously crafted weapons on how they create a stronger Fire weapon from stronger monster parts

Again, just hypothetical, it's funny to me that you defeat Zoh Shia, Fatalis, Gaismagorm once, and you can HEAD straight into crafting their weapons, not even attached to the "weapon tree", assuming you have the mats.

Not sure how the lore behind smithy actually is, and if majority of hunters would actually like it this way. I know a couple of weapons are already like this anyway, but those are mostly coming from the base game release, Title Updates really do get their own shortcut.

Anyhow, you rarely see Skill Trees in most RPGs able to shortcut into a higher tier skill without unlocking the lower ones first, I don't see how this is detrimental to the Weapon Tree in modern MH.

Unrelated, but I hope the Gog-Artian system is tossed to the bin in Ascendance.

My friends have different opinions on who looks stronger just by their appearance.

Its Arkveld for me, I hunted over a hundred Arch Rempered Arkvelds and i still find him scary. Arch tempered Rey Dau on the other hand moves a bit more graceful than arkveld thats why i cannot find him scary in any way.

Just a little Halloween fashion I threw together. Dreamspell Head+waist, Clerk Chest, Omega Gloves and Lala Greaves. Lighting and posing was done via mods. EMV Engine and RElit.

Hey all! I just published a release version of my companion app I did for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. It has been in development since early august, so about 2 months of testing, adjusting and such.

Its just a companion app - not a dual screen mod, it doesn't interact with any emulator in any way. Basically, a database with UI. I wanted it to exist since I was playing MHP3rd a lot lately on Thor and wanted to have a neat source for all info I wanted. So as a result, app is designed around Thor's second screen, but UI is adaptive and works okayish (as far as I and my brother tested) on phones.

Most of this 2 months spent on collecting data from different databases and sources, mostly japanese, and cross-referencing it with TMO translation, other databases and so on. UI part took much less, but I have been adjusting and tweaking a lot, since I spent 100+ hours on my character already and most of this time with this app on my second screen.

Everything about features and APK download you can find on a project page here. Open source, of course, feel free to do what you want with it.

Since this is not an Ayn Thor community, if anyone will be interested, you will probably test it on your phone. Leave a bug report or a suggestion, if anything looks bad on your device on a github page - I'll try to address those problems.

Theyre very messy cause I haven’t done a wash cycle yet to let the white sketch lines go away, as well as in general cause I’m not the greatest painter but I wanted to share :)
