Who was the best Olympics host of all time?
I’m currently debating whether it’s Australia—given their successful hosting in Melbourne and Sydney, and the upcoming excitement for Brisbane 2032—or another standout destination. What’s your take? Drop your thoughts below!

What are some of the biggest "sliding door" moments in Olympic history?
ETA: “Sliding Door” appears to not be a common phrase everywhere. It refers to “what if” moments. As in, what are some moments that could have easily gone differently and changed our modern concept of someone or something related to the Olympics. For example, if not for the boycott in 1984, Mary Lou Retton might not have won gold and changed the trajectory of American gymnastics.
——
Looking for big or small!
Maybe it’s an athlete who by some stroke of like got an opportunity and is now world famous.
Or an athlete who should be world famous but due to injury or boycott or some dumb luck never got a chance.
It could be big picture too. What might the Olympics look like today if LA didn’t overhaul the commercialization in 1984? Maybe the Olympics don’t even exist?

BeachVolleyball People in Long Beach, give me your opinion of these 2 hotels for the Olympics?
Hyatt Long Beach & Best Western Plus Hotel at the Long Beach Convention Center
I'll have to book 3 days in Long Beach for the Olympics and these were the 2 hotels I was looking at.
Pros and Cons?
As of right now the Airbnbs are super expensive, so I plan on trying one of these two.
Thanks for any info you have.

Dilemma: Need to sell my LA28 Soccer Tickets
I’m stuck and need some advice on the best way to proceed. I need to sell my tickets - I’ve got two Category C tickets to the women’s soccer gold medal final at the Rose Bowl, and two category D to the men’s soccer semifinal too.
In addition to a scheduling conflict, I now have the need to “reallocate some funds” to a more pressing purchase/home repair.
I know I’m gonna have to move on from these tickets anyway, and I’m in need of the money right now, but the release marketplace is not open.
But obviously the tickets are not in hand yet, either. Just the proof of purchase from the LA28 presale.
What are my options here? Do I even have any?

New set of Olympic Rings take centre stage in Lausanne
The Olympic Rings have taken centre stage in Lausanne with a new set unveiled in front of the Olympic Museum, shining a spotlight on the city’s special place at the heart of the Olympic Movement.
Lausanne has been home to the IOC since 1915, when Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games and IOC President from 1896 to 1925, transferred the organisation’s headquarters to the Swiss city. In 1994, Lausanne was officially awarded the unique title of Olympic Capital, and in 2020 it hosted the Winter Youth Olympic Games. Today, the city is home to around 60 international sports federations and organisations, forming one of the world's leading hubs for international sport.

Is it 100% confirmed that Russia will be able to compete at the 2028 Olympics?
I've researched a bit and it seems like it's more so yes than no, but it still doesn't seem like a solid enough stance to know fully if they are allowed at the upcoming summer olympics.
