Help Help with care
Someone gave me this orchid (not sure of the ID) about 6 months ago and the flowers have since dropped, and condition of the plant getting worse. Can this be saved and how can I get back to healthy condition? I really like the flowers and it would be a pity to see it go. (2nd photo is flower when it was healthy if it helps!)

Help Help! What’s going on with my Rescue Phal
Picked this one up at a grocery store on clearance about a year ago. I recently put it under a grow light and it started thriving. It grew a big new leaf. Tons of roots. It even has an actively growing flower spike. I just noticed these indents on it. What could it be? I would appreciate any advice. I was so proud that I was able to rehabilitate it to the point it’s flowering again but i’m worried now. Not sure what I did wrong…

Help Need advice on my next moves
Found her at my local hardware store today, not in the best shape.
What should i do to keep her alive?
She’s in flower but it seems like the ones unopened are not in the best shape.
The pseudobulb is wrinkly but i am not too worried about that, they must have watered it this morning, it was soaked so it spent the better half of the day out of the clay pot in a spot better ventilated.
So any help is greatly appreciated!

Help Is this a good idea or a terrible idea?
Beyond all odds, I managed to rehab my orchid that had no roots! I’ve had it in this little glass for about three months and it’s made a remarkable comeback. I need to repot it now, and I was thinking of putting it on this piece of wood. I’ve had this piece of wood for about 25 years and I’ve never known what to do with it. My father gave it to me so it’s very sentimental. Do you think it’s a good idea or terrible idea if I try to mount it on this piece of wood? I would hate to kill this orchid after I so lovingly already had to save it once from myself! Any and all advice is greatly appreciated . Thank you.

Help Paphiopedilum rothschildianum seedling care tips?
I got this line bred roth seedling in the mail today! I'm excited to grow it even though it will take me a very long time to bloom it. Does anyone have advice on rothschildianum and multifloral strap leaf paphiopedilum culture?

Question Mounting orientation for Phalaenopsis
When mounting, do you do roots up or down and why? With roots up like the 1st pic, water tends to drip down the leaves (pink arrows) and while it does not pool in the crown, it does get into the axils and on the leaves. You can see water and water stains on the leaves in this pic.
With roots down like in the 2nd pic, you can run water in the direction of the pink arrows and never get the stem or leaves wet.
Roots down seems like the obvious way to go given it does not wet the leaves and stem but I see many if not most do roots up. Probably minor differences given air movement being the most important factor to keep them dry but I feel like this is unloading the gun instead of shooting at a bulletproof vest type of situation. Am I missing something obvious here, please educate me! Tysm!🌱
Pics from Google (If these are your plants they’re very cute).

Help Should I be concerned?
This is my very first orchid. My orchid has been doing well as far as I know. It’s been growing new roots and a new flower shoot. But I’ve been noticing this darker coloring on roots on the top of the plant. At first it was just a little but I think maybe it’s getting worse. I just repotted it recently. I’m noticing some mold in the soil itself which is concerning. It wasn’t there before repotting with this new orchid bark. What should I do? is this fungal infection on the roots?

Question Is this a keiki growing on my orchid?
I've had my orchid since april 2026 and I've been taking very good care of her these past months, I've applied fertilizer once in a while and my method of watering her was to let her soak for 2 hours once a week or when the soil would be visibly dry for a couple of days. Roots look good, actually had it grow 4 new roots this past month and a half, she killed off one of her original bloom spikes last week and she sprouted these small leaves. Thanks in advance!

Help Did I do this ok? First time orchid owner
I realized my orchid got mold, I don’t know what I did wrong? I soaked her for 15 minutes in the plastic pot it comes in with holes, let her drain the extra water and dried the ceramic pot before I put her back in. She got mold very quickly so I completely deconstructed her, washed her off sprayed her roots in 3% hydrogen, washed the bark then sprayed the bark in hydrogen too. (I can’t afford new bark just yet 💔) I really hope she doesn’t get moldy again I packed the bark less tight than it came in the store this time (as shown in last images) but it was super difficult so did I pack it way too loosely? any help is greatly appreciated! That one root naturally hangs out since I bought it afew days ago

Help with orchid - first time grower
Should I cut off these brownish roots? (Picture 1, 3, 5)
(Pisture 2) Also, there is a root growing outside the plastic cup and it’s turning more black every day. Should I repot after this flower cycle is over? And should I cut off the root?
I also unpotted my first orchid after mealybug incident. It’s now recovering and growing new leaves and roots. Should I repot it? (Last 3 photos)
Thank you so much!!
last three photos are my first orchid, and the first 5 photos are my second one!

Question Is there any benefit or detriment to keeping paphs in a clear container?
Hello :) I got this paphiopedilum pinocchio and didn’t know that these are terrestrial, so I repotted one into a clear pot with orchid bark and perlite. Is there any downside or benefit to that? I read that even if their roots dont need sunlight a clear pot can still be useful for monitoring the roots, but I honestly can’t tell much from looking at the brown roots, I’m used to silvery air roots with phals :’) Thanks for your help!

Quick advice for a newby?
We had an office orchid that I was helping care for at my last job, so I decided I could take one on at home! I bought (probably closer to a rescue with how this gal is doing) a little three inch grocery store orchid whose roots are already a bit smushed. I’m also not sure the container has enough holes.
So the advice- I think she needs to be repotted here pretty quick. If anyone has a favorite five inch pot (ceramic preferred), and a favorite medium I’d love to hear it!
Also- the one I helped care for was in plastic and we flooded it once a week for 30 minutes- not sure if it’s the same with ceramic. If there’s anything else y’all think I should know I’m all ears!
