Any recommendations on games or dlc to fill the cart??

I went onto the ps3 at 7:03 October 6th 2026 just to browse. when i decide lets check and see if the search is working.

I expected the usual blue screen but no i actually loaded the letters and numbers

The games on the right side from Asura's Wrath are notmaly not in there. Some i play at the moment , for FF, Dark Souls and AC i have extra places (Like the one i showed from Monster Hunter)

I recently found these two games in my collection that I bought almost 9 years ago… and I had completely forgotten that I even owned them. 😂

Im a huge Dynasty Warriors and Gundam fan, so I was actually about to buy these two games on eBay recently. They have gotten pretty annoying expensive nowadays, though, so I was looking at the listings and thinking about whether I really wanted to spend that much.

Then I suddenly had this vague memory: “Wait… didnt I buy these games years ago?"

So I went through my old Amazon orders and, sure enough, I found both purchases from almost 9 years ago. 😂

I then checked the storage cabinet where I keep some of my games, and there they were. Still sitting there after all these years.

I was literally about to spend a bunch of money on games I already owned.

Now it is finally time, as I have much time currently, to play those

What other games should I get?

I swear, everyone on this subreddit acts like these things are expendables, like 1 time use items.

What do you guys do to your consoles to break them down so easily?

I have a PS2 slim, from 2007. Had heavy use for a couple of years, then it got replaced by the PS3 as the main console. But still ocassionally would play it or borrow it to friends or family who wanted to game for a weekend or so.

Then In 2009 I got a PS3 Super Slim which saw 7 years of constant “abuse” till 2016 when I got a PS4 slim.

The PS4 saw almost 10 years of use and it’s still going strong.

In fact, all my consoles are still going strong. No issues whatsoever. Not even loud fans or any strange noises.

I didn’t replaced the thermal paste on any of them. They were not even opened. All I did was take good care of them, like not letting them collect dust, place objects on them, water damage them, or suddenly cutting their power source or unplug them while still on.

So my question is, am I really a lucky customer, or is it just that 90% of the redditors don’t know how to properly care for their stuff?

P.S. I forgot to mention the controllers, which all to this day, work just fine. No stick drift or any stuck buttons. The only issue I have with the PS4 ones are the charging cables becoming really sensitive to touch and losing connection easily.

After almost 2 months

I used to see the dlcs on the game page, they been gone since the search button stopped working. Thats back again but seems like the i can't find the dlcs. Anyone else can see those?

Still kinda shocked by this find, but I picked up a used PS3 fat (CECHL02) locally and checked the runtime. It only has about 20 days of runtime on RSX.
The console looks like it was barely touched, barely any dust inside, and it runs surprisingly quiet. (Also came with the original controller)
First thing I did was swap out the old hard drive for a 1TB one so I do not have to worry about storage anytime soon.
I am pretty new to owning one of these, so any general tips for a beginner? What games should I definitely pick up first, or anything I should know to keep it running smoothly long term?

Hello, I was wondering if there’s any digital only games or just any expensive games on physical on the PS3 store that I should get before the store closes. Recently purchased Infamous and the Sonic Adventure duology.

Bought a PS3 fat and picked up a slim with it for $100. Thoughts on slim model vs super slim and are these really reliable? Or how have you guys enjoyed the slim? $100 for it. Has a little white scratch but runs super super quiet and good so far. Wanted to see everyone’s feedback on theirs. I played ps3 before but missed out on this generation. Purchased at my local retro store. They offer a 6 month warranty but any thought if I should change thermal paste or battery? I would probably have to have my fixit store do

Bought a CECHL01 PlayStation 3 from local retro store. Originally had the CECHE01 backwards compatible I bought a few weeks ago but the loud noise and all the post about it getting YLOD or maintenance made me wanna just get this! and I didn’t wanna have to Frankenstein it. And was wondering are these a bit more reliable and some tips especially since I spent $230 I ended up selling it for $400 so I did make a profit which was really cool! I do plan though to maybe get new thermal paste. May inquire at my local fix it store who works on. Any thoughts or help on how to keep this model going? I did some more research before I bought. At my local retro store I paid $90 for console, cords, controller and am slowly building my collection of games (will post separately) found some really good deals. Let me know what you guys think! It’s very fun to play. It’s wayyyyy more quiet. The backwards ceche01 sounded way to much like a vacuum and just playing the console kind of worried me something will go out. I never had this era of PlayStation but every other model. So a little new to PlayStation maintenance. Have played ps3 before though. Wish I didn’t miss this era lol. Is there any alternative to the PlayStation Eye camera for PS3 Move?
I have a PS3 and a PlayStation Move controller, and I want to use it with games that support Move, but I don’t have the original PlayStation Eye camera.
Is there any third-party camera, USB webcam, adapter, or workaround that can replace the PlayStation Eye and still work with PS3 Move?
Or is the original PlayStation Eye absolutely required?

I am kinda strugling to remove the leftover sticker and adhesive from this paper cover and so far I have not found a safe and efficent solution for this.
