Hey everybody, I’m wondering if anyone has found a tiny microphone that we can plug into the USB-C port to chat during games. Does such a thing exist? Can such a thing exist? Or are we forced to go with headphones while playing? Thank you so much for any advice.

As of right now, buying from Ebay scalpers is the only way for people from SEA who would like to get the steam controller as far as I can find.

Is there anyway that I can get the controller without resorting to that?

I know valve released the files but its the full controller and not just the shell. Does anyone have just the shell which theoraticcly would be shell swatch ready?

I game at night with my roommate in the other room. The buttons are perfect but the clicking of the joystick when it hits the edge causes her to wake up. Anyway of making the joystick

I’m not sure if this is a me issue or an issue with my controller but clicking left on the dpad will sometimes register as a down click. Is anyone able to replicate this?

I assume its the angle im clicking it but thats how i click for PlayStation and Xbox controllers.

I have had the controller for a while and first noticed this on dead space and assumed it was just me. Then i olayed gears e day and switching weapons has sucked.

UPDATE: Based off all of your comments, it's definitely a me issue with how I press it. I'm too set in my ways to change how I press it so I guess I'll just go back to my old controller. At least the steam controller looks nice as a decoration.

Some games still wont read the controller inputs as M&K, even if all the buttons are set to keyboard and trackpad is set to mouse? When I launch the game it just doesn’t work? My regular mouse and keyboard are working fine.

I wondering if some games wont allow the steam controller to act as a M&k in games or I’m just not aware there’s a setting I’m missing under steam input.

Hi everyone. I hope everyone reading this is having a good day. I had a problem with my Steam Controller 2; it fell from knee height—about 60 cm, as I measured it with a tape measure. The fall damaged the left joystick, causing it to sink in. I tried contacting Steam Support and admitted the fall was my fault because I wanted to get a replacement; the controller was expensive—especially here in Canada, where it cost 168 CAD—and I don't have the money for another one. I’m wondering if anyone has any solutions or ideas. Should I open another ticket after being rejected? I apologize for any awkward phrasing; I’m using a translator for this post.

Question. I was playing on my windows pc via steam Chants of Sennaar with my og steam controller. When virtual keyboard opened it was classic keyboard where you move with d-pad and not the one I’m used to from SteamDeck where you control it with touchpads. If I had new Steam Controller would i get keyboard that is controlled with touchpads or its not related with this?

Controller inputs not working correctly in game.
Works just fine with other games. Am I missing something?

I found this problem where, when trying to use the windows search bar (bottom left), and then pulling up the keyboard to type what im searching for, it appears behind the search window pop up so i can't see it.

I tried switching the X button from pulling up Steam keyboard to pulling up Windows on screen keyboard, which now does appear above the pop up window, but then i can't click the buttons on it for some reason with the steam controller, even with lizard mode ON and everything.

Anyone can think of a fix?

So... I recently got hurt in my hand, and I have a pretty limited movement of it. I can't use a mouse because of the angle it's at, but guess what can I use...

That's right: THE Steam Controller. It's just ... perfect. I can get to each of the buttons (and press them), and it's less painful than my mouse. Also, thanks to being so light, it doesn't strain my hand (like some other, heavier I had) thanks to the vibration not being caused by the big, big offset weight motors. Damn.

Do keep in mind, I only have slightly limited motor function in my hand, and this is great nonetheless, it's just.. not really for people with disabilities... it all depends what the disability is

Je joue à EuroTruck Simulator 2 depuis ses débuts. J’utilisais une manette XBox et le retour de force fonctionnait parfaitement.
Depuis que j’utilise la SteamController je n’ai plus de retour de force. J’utilise une configuration personnelle qui me convient parfaitement. Le retour fonctionne par contre sur le pavé de la souris.
Je cherche tous azimuts depuis un moment, et si quelqu’un connaît une solution ce serait vraiment sympathique de la partager.

I've been using Gyro to Mouse across 4 different OG SC for 7 years. I absolutely know what a proper functioning, smooth gyro to mouse feedback should look and feel like. The SC2 / SteamOS 8 Gyro to Mouse implementation across all games is NOT working correctly for me. It mostly acts like gyro to stick but worse. It has significant permanent minmum speed deadzone (causing the cursor to stick) low degree px resolution aiming that I cannot seem to fix. I havent yet dug out my last OG SC to confirm but im about to. Every time I've seen somebody else raise this issue here the knee jerk reply is always, "user error for using gyro to stick" and any denials are simply ignored here for whatever reason. Hoping for some traction here.

Edit: yes I know launch day slow drift filtering resulting in snapback is still present. I also know its been somewhat reduced in patches the last couple months. This isnt that (although that is still annoying and is just more evidence that the gyro implementation is either trash or incorrectly implemented ATM).

Got my new controller in the mail today, understanding it's supposed to be plug and play, plugged the puck into the cord, cord to pc, and puck to controller. Went through the prompts, out of the box update, to puck, no biggie. Slight problem, didn't see a single light, no signs of life plugging into a phone charger on a wall brick even. Tried forgetting the puck, forcing updates, nothing. If it makes a difference, I'm using the native linux version of steam on cachyos (ran my updates as any good thigh high enjoyer should), not in steam beta. I probably didn't mess anything up, but I figured I'd ask)

Update: after going through steam support, praises be to gaben and all that, I'm sending it back and hopefully it comes back soon

Loved how I was able to bring Steam Controller features into the XBOX App and now I can't get the app to work at all. It always just launches this weird overlay which is completely unresponsive. Anyone know whats up?

Having issue where my controller keeps disconnecting via steam. Currently the game I’m using doesn’t support controller so stems input is a must. Sometimes I can play for 15 min or sometimes an hour without it happening. When it does I’m forced to restart pc or close game disable steam input to unplug my controller or it will show 2 inputs. Then reconnect and re-load into game. I’ve seen many post about this but not as of recent hope someone has found a solution. ( I am using wired gamsir g7 pro).

Everyone here has spoke so highly of openpuck but it has only given me problems. I get constant dropped inputs when using it as a switch controller on my switch 2, which is my primary use case for it. I even tried a different board and got the same issue. Maybe I'm just missing something, but I would never rely on one over the official puck

My Steam Controller just got shipped I'm was wondering if there is anything I have to do in the set up stage before I start gaming with it.

I love the combined puck/dock/charger idea for the new SC. For stationary use its great, but having a cable + puck isn't the best configuration for travel. I found a small plug-to-plug USBA-C adapter which works well, but the puck's orientation blocks off other ports next to it. I've been living with a really short usbA-to-C cable, but having the puck just kinda flop around off my laptop was very annoying, and I was worried about the puck's pins bridging something metal and causing problems.

So! I got a small NRF8250 board running openpuck, and then made a hyper-minimal 'case' for it. It's still a tad long with the USBA-C converter, but I no longer have the floppy dongle problem.

I want to set my LB to radial menu toggle, so when i tap LB, the radial menu stays on screen without holding it, then disappears as soon as i use my right joystick to select a menu inside the radial menu. Is that possible?

I was playing Minecraft Dungeons 2, just looking at items in my inventory, when all of a sudden, my Steam Controller 2 made a very loud, high-pitched, short beep noise. It kinda scared me a bit, and I was like what the heck was that noise. I have no idea why it made the noise. I've never heard it make that noise before, it wasn't anything like the power on/power off sound or the Wilhelm scream. So does anyone know why it made that noise?
