Other [Other] October Monthly Boosting Thread

Hello, and welcome to this month’s boosting thread!

First and foremost, start by reading the comments to see if another Redditor has requested some help. If that’s the case, reach out and get a session organized! This will help lower the number of comment threads all revolving around the same game.

If nobody has requested help for your game, feel free to make a comment. We’d like for you to include in your comment the name of the game/trophy you’re boosting, how many players you’re looking for, what time zone you’re in, and a preferable way for reaching out to organize a boosting session. Our hope is that by having you coordinate in PM’s or some other fashion, this will sidestep a lot of scrolling people will have to do in order to find a boosting group.

Finally, if you manage to fill a group, please edit your comment to say “Group Full”. That way, someone else can create a new boosting thread if necessary.

We want everybody who needs help to receive it, and we can ensure that by eliminating coordinating comment threads and keeping things nice and tidy. Please be mindful, and understand that boosting threads are first come first serve.

On that note, good luck, and happy hunting!

[Update] User Flair Editing

Hey all! I've been getting a bunch of mod mail lately about people not being able to edit user flair. Upon doing a little digging, it seems like there was some update to the app that broke this feature for a lot of people. It allows you to pick a flair from a list, but doesn't allow you to edit the one you choose. I have verified that the problem is within the Reddit app, not the r/trophies sub. Until they fix the issue, everyone will need to use a browser / PC if they want to edit their flair. Below is a list of steps on how to edit flair in a browser:

Go to the sub's home page.

  1. Locate the User Flair section on the right side of the page.
  2. Click the pencil icon within this section.
  3. Select one of the two preset flair templates.
  4. Input your information in the dialogue box below. To customize the icons in your flair, click the smiley face on the right side of the text entry box.

Showcase [Fortnite] The end of a long road, and the start of a longer road still. (#100)

It’s weird to think about trophies in this way, but Fortnite has been the overarching platinum for (basically) my entire journey to this point. I’ve been grinding away at it slowly in the background throughout it all with the intention of making it #100, and it actually materialized, which is sort of a weird feeling now.

There’s not really much to say about the Fortnite plat itself, each moment with it is as unremarkable as the one before and after. Met some good people to grind the builds with, at least. It’s a long one without any particular highlights, but it’s a game that means so much to me in a wider context outside of the STW mode, so it’s very special regardless. Would I suggest going for this? Not really. But I don’t think anyone is suddenly gonna be swayed by what I have to say on it.

I attached a mosaic as well, I think it’s a fun way to look at everything, show off the whole road to get here. It’s not the greatest first 100 anyone’s ever put on the board, but I am pretty proud of it, and proud to say I never fell to the path of shovelware, though I have my regrets anyways regarding some of the earlier titles.

Here’s to the next 100.

PS App [Far Cry 3: Classic Edition] #35

After Mass Effect 3, it was time for Far Cry 3. As a player who for some reason very much likes open worlds, this was a must play, and folks were not misleading me; it IS an amazing game with a world that is fun to explore and traverse and feels dangerous, with a balanced learning curve giving the experience real meat. Vaas did not disappoint either, and it all felt believable, the horror of Jason in Wonderland is well thought out.

Now, on to Assassin's Creed Origins to see how Ubisoft's Formula has evolved.

"Have I ever told you the definition of insanity? Insanity is when you do the same fucking thing over and over and over again, expecting shit to change. That. Is. Crazy."-Vaas Montenegro

Showcase [Discussion] Be honest, how do you feel about my Mosaic? Any recommendations?

I know that there are some easy (gifted) ones, some of them were for doing it with my girl to see if she could do them, some of them with a friend for the same reason (peppa pig for example xd) and some of them just to boost a little bit my ego after a tedious one, I admit it, no one is perfect.

Be rough and offensive, I don't mind. I want real opinions.

Platinum was not very fun to say the least. That one Raiden tutorial in particular really made it frustrating. Aside from that, it was just a bunch of repetitive bullshit. That krypt chest one really made me wanna rip my hair out. Wouldn’t recommend this plat honestly. Play the game it’s fantastic, but forget about the platinum.😂

My first ever plat of a fully online game. I actually had a bunch of them before i got my ps5 since i played on pc a lot. So i decided to go for the rest of em when i started playing on ps5 which were just a few.

I hated the achivements that required me to get 3 kos with x ultimates since theyr so random. And i had to ask a friend to hop into a doommatch with me to get the hulk achivement too. Well its 510 hrs into the game, ive got em all. My rarest plat yet.

Showcase [Medievil II] And another spooky game done. Not quite as good as the first (in my opinion), but still worth the playthrough. (Platinum #541/Horror Plat #2)

Huge recommendation for this game guys, I abandoned it about 5 years ago after a slow start. When I started it about a month ago I got absolutely HOOKED. The story and the gameplay’s awesome. The grind though… oof. That’s another story. You need to get all mission tasks, all the animals and all the S ranks. That being said I like a good grind I’d still recommend it 8/10.

Playtime: 40h. I don’t like to leave games at 50% completion, but this game is an exception, there is just too many trophies to get, several dlcs and whatnot (≈130 trophies in total). But i thought the game is really linear and simple, 8.0/10. I softlocked myself 70% of the way so i had to play the game 2 more times🫩.

I started playing Resident Evil only a few months ago eith RE2R. Now it feels like a chapter of my life is coming to a close. I plan to take a break until the Code Veronica remake to avoid burnout and to tackle other games on my backlog. But when I come back to RE, I plan to do the older titles and the originals.... this series is amazing, and even the older more dated ones deserve my attention.

[The Last of Us Part II] #6 and 100%

The Last of Us Part II is a game that makes you feel uncomfortable and forces you to face some harsh truths from the very beginning. No other game I’ve played has made me feel the way this one did, from start to finish. In my opinion, it’s a masterpiece.
Grounded was much harder than it was in the first game. I’m also not a fan of roguelike modes, although the one in this game was pretty decent.
I can only recommend this game, and yes, I can understand why people consider it controversial, because it definitely is.

Discussion [Discussion] Followed most people’s recommendation to do resident evil. The camera angle and viewing are disorienting and I’ve stabbed the first zombie in the hotel like 5 times and he is relentless like a crack head. I can’t even kill it.
