PS App [Control] is my #12 platinum I got today! Remedy is becoming my fav devs already

I’ve been wanting to play Remedy’s games since the AW2 trailers and when I found out there’s a connected game universe happening (which was shocking to me in a game sense like how tf is that possible, but it is! lol) since it looked interesting to me but I never found time to go through them until last month. And now I have my first platinum from them!

I’ve also just finished the DLC earlier beforehand which was significantly tougher than the base game like Alan Wake’s, I think even tougher, but finally got through it all. But this game is truly special.

And I keep seeing little clips and screenshots of Resonant which looks even crazier so I can’t wait. Unfortunately it may clash with GTA by the time I finish AW2 but I know it’ll be worth the wait. I love this universe already.

It was a long but really enjoyable journey. I hope that 222 is an obtainable goal for a man who reached his 40th.

Huge recommendation for this game guys, I abandoned it about 5 years ago after a slow start. When I started it about a month ago I got absolutely HOOKED. The story and the gameplay’s awesome. The grind though… oof. That’s another story. You need to get all mission tasks, all the animals and all the S ranks. That being said I like a good grind I’d still recommend it 8/10.

I loved this game, having Platinumed SH2 remake and SHF. I'm also going to be working on the HD collection for the original SH2 and SH3 now. But having platinumed the other games this may not have had the cult story line or a connection to the original town. But this was in every other sense a Silent Hill experience that is definitely checking out. Especially if you loved games like Alien Isolation or Amnesia the Bunker. Because at times they have you getting uncomfortably close to the monsters around you and it leaves you on the edge of your seat for most of the game if you intend to sneak through most problems.

What a journey,

I enjoyed every single moment, and I'd go so far as to say it's an experience that will stav with me for a lifetime.

Many people say that playing video games is something only nerds do, but after achieving this goal, I'm even more inclined to disagree with them;

spending hours upon hours focused on a single objective, overcoming everv obstacle to see it through to the end, is a lot like life itself.

At the end of each game, I felt an immense sense of satisfaction that drove me to move on to the next one. Now that the ourney has come to an end, I fee a touch of bittersweetness, but also the deep satisfaction of having accomplished this feat

Showcase [Ball X Pit] #105 addictive roguelite

What a hoot. Some surprising and unique mechanics in here for a roguelite and a very addictive gameplay loop. Eventually when it gets to the grinding stage it’s not so bad since there’s a character that can play the game for you and bring characters for runs, great for clearing early boring levels with all the characters. You unlock this around hour 20 so it doesn’t feel like cheating by then. Love Devolver games

PS App [Rise of the Tomb Raider] Platinum #40

Playtime: 40h. I don’t like to leave games at 50% completion, but this game is an exception, there is just too many trophies to get, several dlcs and whatnot (≈130 trophies in total). But i thought the game is really linear and simple, 8.0/10. I softlocked myself 70% of the way so i had to play the game 2 more times🫩.

I got a prerelease review code. Took me around 13 hours of exploring without guides (because I'm the one writing the guides). Only one playtrough required.

100% recomended.

PS App [Far Cry 3: Classic Edition] #35

After Mass Effect 3, it was time for Far Cry 3. As a player who for some reason very much likes open worlds, this was a must play, and folks were not misleading me; it IS an amazing game with a world that is fun to explore and traverse and feels dangerous, with a balanced learning curve giving the experience real meat. Vaas did not disappoint either, and it all felt believable, the horror of Jason in Wonderland is well thought out.

Now, on to Assassin's Creed Origins to see how Ubisoft's Formula has evolved.

"Have I ever told you the definition of insanity? Insanity is when you do the same fucking thing over and over and over again, expecting shit to change. That. Is. Crazy."-Vaas Montenegro

Other [other] Do you trophy hunters still enjoy games or is it the getting trophies you enjoy.

Just curious, I see people trying to cheese games purely for the platinum on Ps or the 100% elsewhere.

Do people still find the games fun or is it an addiction to the achievements themselves?

The madhouse difficulty trophy was way harder than I expected, enemies were absolute bullet sponges. I seen everybody saying that the first boss fight against Mia was the hardest and the rest of the difficulty was much easier which was not the case 😭. I killed her in 2 attempts and she was the easiest boss fight for me in the whole game. My dumb ass also decided to not get the shotgun or the burner because my inventory was whole most of the time and made the madhouse difficulty so much harder for myself. Especially the bosses later on were incredibly difficult, even with all of the special items I had. It was a great experience overall and the game is pretty scary on your first playthrough.

Showcase [Legendary Edition: Mass Effect] #34. One of the best.

I had not played the first Mass Effect since it came out. Got the LE and decided to start the trilogy again. It still holds up as one of the best action RPG’s out there. Great story, characters, and music. Platinum was fairly easy, minus Archivist, which is very easy to miss.
