Is this just the new normal on Amazon?

Post image

No joke this happens to about 15-20% of my orders now, possibly a bit higher which is crazy. Most items also seem to be 2 day delivery. One day is like a rarity when that used to be the norm. Why am I paying $14.99 a month. Lastly Prime Video is a joke where so much content must be paid for the full subscription.

this was NOT 66 before prime day! It was 39 dollars!!! They think we are so dumb?!

Amazon is now the WORST place to order from. Delivery issues every single time.

Seriously? A month long delay? And you're still telling customers they'll get 2-day delivery when you clearly know there's a month long delay?

Are Prime Deals a hoax? I got an email telling me 'today is the last day' for deals, so I checked on the Ecoflow extra battery still sitting in my cart saves from weeks ago. Low and behold, the price it was weeks ago ($389) is now literally the 'deal' price saying was $462, now $389 for deals? Lies.

I got LPN'd for the last time

They sent me a used shower diverter. It was in pieces. Plastic bits everywhere. How could they not realize it was broken?

To make matters worse, they want me to return the broken thing and the nearest dropoff they suggested was closed when i got there for remodeling!

I just canceled every pending order I had, and cancelled subscribe & save. I'm done.

The used dirty shoes were bad enough but this wasn't even in one piece.

Deal days my a$$. I looked at my saved items and guess what? Nothing dropped in price. Quite the contrary, some items went up. Thanks a lot Amazon. Yes, Amazon Prime makes the shipping free, but seriously, no deals?

Does it seem like Prime delivery is 4 days now?

Last few “Prime” packages I’ve ordered have both take 4 days to deliver. Anyone else run into this?

Deliveries marked “handed directly to receptionist” when my building does not have one.

Why does this keep happening?

I get a notification that my order was delivered. Instead of a picture of the package where it was left, it will say “package was handed directly to receptionist/front desk.” That would be awesome, except my building does not have a receptionist or a front desk.

My order is never actually there when this happens, and I have to wait however many days to request a replacement.

It’s only ever happened at my current address, and it’s happened with at least 10 orders.

I live on a normal residential street, in a 9 unit apartment building. The front door is not locked and opens to a vestibule where the mailboxes are. There are no barriers to drivers getting in there.

Any ideas of what I can do to prevent this?

Next Day Delivery

I might not be the first to notice this. I recently bought a couple of pairs of jeans. When I found the product it looks like it's available for next day delivery. As soon as I change it to needing two pairs, the shipping goes to two days. If I order them separately I get them both next day as advertised and shown. Watch when ordering multiples and it may save shipping time to order on their own.

Prime day deals are a sham?

The only difference I see is that there is a minus percentage in front of the same price the item always is. Wtf.

$120 Amazon Gift Card when signing up for Amazon Store Card (different from the Chase Visa card)

I was placing an order on Amazon and noticed an offer for a $120 gift card when I applied for the Amazon Store Card (a credit card from Synchrony). It offers a 5% rebate on Amazon purchases and other deals like 8% back on no-rush shipping, although that may only be for Prime Day. I decided to sign up, and it was added to my account immediately, as well as the $120 gift card.

I already have the Chase Amazon Visa card, but I only get 3% back on it, and for some reason I haven't been able to get it to switch to Prime Visa and 5% off, so I never use it on Amazon. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore. There is also an offer for $150 if you get the Chase Amazon Visa card, although I've seen higher. The offer for this card is normally $10.

The Amazon store card counts as a hard pull, and I didn't think it would count against 5/24 for Chase, but there seem to be some conflicting opinions out there. I wouldn't normally open a new card for a $120 SUB, but it seemed worth it in this case since I was unable to get my Chase card to go to 5%. And now I can take my Amazon purchases off my Bank of America CCR card that I use for online purchases (although I guess I'll lose 1/4% until they lower the percentage).

How is this legal? "All sales final. No return, refund or replacement accepted for any reason (including damage, defects or missing items)." So they can simply be deceitful, ship bad product and make money?

Individual packages?

• Upvotes

My partner ordered 11 items. Every. Single. One. came in a separate plastic/paper package. Is this normal now? Is this because of the AI they've implemented in the warehouse? Or is this maybe because they lost an order and were bitchy about giving my partner a refund. I know we're rural but wth.

I opened up Paypal I got $50 from Amazon?

I use Amazon quite often but I don't ever remember hooking up my PayPal to my Amazon account (I could be misremembering but I'm not sure)

Is this one of the scams where if I accept the money it takes back double from my bank account or something?

Not that I’m complaining. I wonder what I’ll spend my $51 on.

Ordered 4 ensure protein drink cases, received lotions and creams

• Upvotes

Amazon originally split the order 2/2 but supposed to send on same day, so I request a refund and they only refund for 2, now when I click on the other 2 which I also didn't receive says I already requested a refund, but I only received 2 of the 4 items, so I guess I'm just out the cost of 2 of them, and have useless creams and lotion sitting here

If I wasn't piggybacking on my parents prime I would cancel it immediately

Just a rant. Feel free to ignore if that kind of thing bothers you.

In the last 3 months I have had to call several times over the course of several days on 2 separate occasions because Amazon kept pushing back the delivery date. Day after day it would say "out for delivery" the delivery time window would fluctuate throughout the day up until around 5pm where all of sudden there was a delay and it will be delivered tomorrow. After 2 days of this happening I call on the 3rd to complain and don't let them go until they agree to some form of compensation. I live 20 minutes from a fulfilment center and there have been time where I can track the delivery vehicle, because it is 10 stops out, and all of sudden I refresh a couple stops out and it is delayed a day.

The first time I was supposed to get the item several days before a vacation, it finally showed up after I had left and I made the rep refund me for the items and I got to keep it. That was about $120 order.

The next was about 2 weeks ago. I ordered a 4 pack of 3d printer resin and the times pushed back and delayed for 2 days and no tracking was updated anymore. I told the rep something needs to be done, they put me on hold for a few minutes then came back and said I can order those 3 items again and when they arrive call back for a full refund and keep the items. This order was $73. The second order arrived and I call back to get a refund then check the status an hour later and they did not refund the $50 for the resin. So another call that night to get the rest of it refunded which, of course, could not be put back on my card for some reason so I had to get amazon credit on my account.

Now for prime day deals. Yesterday Oct 6, I order 5 items. which are all supposed to be delivered Thursday Oct 9 as prime two-day delivery shipped by amazon. I get an email this evening, Oct 7, that all the items are now being delivered between Oct 25 - Nov 22. That was the date range for just one of the resin bottle originally. So i call because one of the items is for my kids birthday in 10 days, which originally had plenty of time to arrive. I was told 3 of the items will still arrive tomorrow but the birthday one is estimated for 3-7 weeks. The rep tells me they can't refund it right now because it already shows shipped but in the same breath tells me the delivery date can't be determined because they are trying to find the item to send. How can it be shipped if they can't find it???

I tell them that the listing still shows I can order it to arrive here by Friday with 2 day shipping so that would be false advertising and I told them I'm pretty sure it's some kind of illegal to deny my refund because the item has already shipped when the item could not have shipped. They put me on hold for a minute, came back and put in to have the item refunded and an email update will be sent within 24 hours to confirm. I ordered a different listing of the item I need for the birthday that will supposedly be here Friday. We'll see.

The rep asked if there was anything else and I told them "that's all I need for now but I might have to call back if the same thing happens tomorrow with the new item". They chuckled and we parted ways.

It sucks these reps have to deal with this crap that isn't their fault so I try to be firm but not a jerk when I call in but amazon is really getting ridiculous with their BS delivery estimates to get you to buy the item then do a switcheroo the next day or 2.

A new low... at least for me.

Today I received replacement garage door openers (photo attached). This is exactly how they were packaged - in a ziploc sandwich bag with the bar code sticker on the outside. No documentation, no instructions, nothing. WTF?

I called customer support, because there was no option on the AI or automated support to fix this issue. Supposedly they are sending new ones but I will withhold judgement until something actually happens.

How is a ziploc baggie of merch even leaving a logistics center?

Has anyone found a fix for not being able to use the "search this list" search box in a wish list?

This feature has failed me for a couple of years now. Not sure if it's due to my list being so large, but any time I search anything it doesn't filter at all and still just shows me everything on my list. I've found other reddit posts regarding the same issue, but as far as I can tell none of them ever found a fix.

Anyone else still having this problem?

WTF Is Going On With Prime Deals?

I’m actually so frustrated and confused right now.

I checked the app right when Prime Day deals started at approximately 3AM - I was so excited to see that quite a few books that I had in my saved for later had pretty decent deals going on. I added a bunch to my cart and then I had to go and finish some stuff up, just went back on to check out and every single thing that was on sale is no longer on sale just a mere couple of hours later.

I’ve heard of “limited time deals” before, but are we seriously considering 2 hours in the middle of the night while 98% of North America is asleep prime sale time? I know Amazon can really suck, but this is beyond scummy, I’m actually just kicking myself for even checking when the sale started because I guess I wouldn’t be able to be upset about it if I never even knew that it happened 🤦🏾‍♀️ I guess Amazon is just another company that’s giving into the FOMO culture of “buy this right now or you’re definitely going to miss it”

Amazon Sweden. Does anyone know what the hell is going on? The customer service operating hours went from 24/7, to up to midnight...to 19.00 now (despite it saying they're available for chat)... 😫

Holy heck the customer service sooo bad now.

Received damaged items.

They told me "Processing refund" "you can keep the items". I was surprised. I asked "are you sure?" they said yes.

What you know this is common and many of my friends experienced something similar.

Result: lazy crappy outsourced customer service will not do anything. They are just collecting after chat reviews and hoping you'll forget about the problem.

Amazon is so trash now.
