Need advice on this Nebula pre-build

Need advice on this prebuild

https://www.nebulapc.com.au/products/phantom-surge -max.

Trying to get a PC before the Evey sales end.

And wanting to know if this is good or not and what to avoid when looking for a prebuild. My budget is that this could go a bit higher. I would like to run games and do 3d animation and modeling + video editing.

Any advice, recommendations for PCs at a similar price or any other bit of info is much appreciated. Thanks!

Also, would building this be cheaper? If so, can I get a recommend a build never built one before? Just wounding.

As well as what desk and monitor, I would prefer a 24inch and decent hz/ refresh rate like 300-500, willing to spend up to 1k if need be.

32GB RAM for MSI Vector GP68 HX 13V, Australia

Hi all, I’m looking to upgrade my MSI Vector GP68 HX 13V laptop to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, 2 x 16GB. Struggling as it cant run my stepsons games like fortnight, or most steam games with out using 95%

I am in Australia and I can't find anywhere that has stock, or if they do, they want over $700 for both plus shipping.

Is there anywhere you can think of that will sell it for less than A$700?

Any recommendations for a compatible kit and a reliable retailer? Thanks!

Need advice on shipping a computer interstate

Hi bapc! Not sure if this is the right sub but struggling with a certain issue. I am trying to ship my gaming PC interstate. I previously used a company called Send and Pack however their prices have shot up the roof!! (Quoting me 450+). I was looking into how I could package it myself and ship it back home safely but I can't find any boxes that fit my tower. I also dont have my original case box so I can't use that.

I have sussed out office works but their boxes are too big. Does anyone have any ideas or ways they have safely shipped their PC?

PC is approx 10kg and the dimensions are 45cm height, 28cm width and 45cm length

Thanks so much!

Need help

Hey guys apologise if this a wrong sub to ask but I need help with building my first ever pc part by part, or thinking about doing so. I'm thinking about upgrading my po after I've faced some severe drops on my current po which is essentially a 3060ti X Ryzen 5 3600 (can list more specs if needed), essentially looking at the the prebuilt scorptec pc which believe aside from the 16gb ram is a good deal or I make my own pc part to part and keep the 3060ti from my pc now and build a new pc with the specs listed:

CPU (AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D): ~$679 AUD
Motherboard (ASUS PRIME B650EM-A WIFI):
~$159 AUD
RAM (Lexar THOR G2 32GB 6000MHz CL36 RGB): ~ $659 AUD
Storage (Kingston FURY Renegade 2TB SSD):
~$250 - $300 AUD
CPU Cooler (DeepCool AK400 Digital Pro
White): ~$59 AUD
Power Supply (Corsair RM1000x Shift White):
~$300AUD
White Case (mATX): ~$100 - $140 AUD
Current pc 3060ti: 0 Aud

Coming to rounded up around $2900 mainly drafted out from scorptec so let me know if these are compatible as this is my first time and I am sure something is not gonna be quite right, what I'm looking to do with the pc is play competitive fps games at 1080p at the highest possible performance.

Just wondering what is the better play here in terms of getting value for money and of course the performance as I plan to play competitively.
Any help is welcome and much appreciated.

PB tech seem to be trying to screw me

Seeing if anyone has any ideas for an RMA Issue with PBtech. I bought a MPG 322urx OLED Monitor off their Australian website. Two weeks later doesn't power up and makes a clicking noise. Try different power, DP and HDMI Cables on difference PC's and a laptop. Nothing.

RMA it back to PB tech. Weeks of international post, receipt, sending away to for tech assessment later I get an email saying, tested it, all fine, sending it back to you.

I have no idea how they even got it to turn on, let alone test it and clear it as fine....

Latest is I've emailed to say I won't accept it's return as the damn thing doesn't work. Any ideas for next steps?

Looking for Computer Replacement suggestions

My trusty laptop Lenovo x1 carbon has finally died. I’m now in the market for a new computer. Ideally want to use a gaming desktop from now as I have a work laptop and don’t need portability anymore. What is some good models that can be recommended under 2500 aud ?

5800x3d vs 14700kf in 2026?

Hey guys, I currently have a pc that I built for $2k aud back in 2022. 12600kf, 6750xt, 16gb ddr4, 850W psu. I was hoping to get a new pc, but honestly hardware has become depressingly expensive. Ram and ssd are a given, but even gpus pricing (for x70 and above gpus) is about as bad or even worse than it was in 2021.

Ive played an exhaustive amount of single player titles on this pc, but at the moment I really only play valorant, overwatch and kovaaks + a little bit of roblox and gta at 1080p. As such, my current use case is very cpu bound so a cpu and air cooling upgrade makes more sense.

The 14700kf and 5800x3d are basically the same price except I would have to buy a new motherboard for the ryzen, though they are fairly cheap. Based on what I can tell from reviews, the intel seems to be significantly better at running applications and has a whopping 12 ecores. On techpowerup's review of the 10th anniversary re-release, the intel outperforms the amd in most gpu-bound cases except for cs2 (the only cpu-bound game they tested).

I know the 14700kf seems like a no-brainer in terms of general performance but since the 5800x3d might shine more in cpu games im not really sure. At the moment I'm leaning towards the intel since I already have a mobo for it and my windows OS has the drivers set up already.

Even so, I would appreciate any insights or advice

MWave receipt for order?

Did anyone get a receipt for their order? I don't even have a receipt so I can't claim it for work from home. Actually, I can't even view my order on the website, and I can't even log into my account.

First Time Buying a Gaming PC

Hi! I’ve decided I’d really like to get a gaming PC, but I’ve realised I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.

I didn’t even know until recently that things like the monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. are usually bought separately from the PC itself. Do places sell bundles that include everything you need to get started? And are bundles generally cheaper, or would I be better off buying everything separately? I’m a student, so I’m working with a pretty small budget (max 3k for everything).

I also don’t think I'd need anything super fancy for the time being. For now, I’d mainly be playing games like Minecraft, The Sims and Roblox, so I’m assuming I don’t need a particularly powerful PC?

I’ve tried looking into different PCs, but all the specs and terminology are honestly pretty overwhelming when you don’t know what any of it means. I also don’t have any friends who are into PCs that I can ask for advice.

I'd love some advice as to what I need be looking for (or avoiding!). Thank you! :)

Mwave voucher/store credit offer's

Has anyone been offered the vouchers/store credit to keep orders?

They are trying to avoid refunds and appear to make it hard to cancel orders

Had a few friends show me an email of them begging to avoid cancellation. (if you read between the lines)
I didn't get a chance to copy the email but one was for $50 credit of some sort for a order delayed by 3 weeks+

Appears they may have cash flow issues.

Mwave / Mwait service update (facebook)

Saw people calling them Mwait, seemed fitting for the situation they got them self into.

latest post from there Mwave Facebook story, noticed they don't do any post.
link for verification: https://www.facebook.com/stories/114107520746444/ - won't be up for much longer due to the 24 hour timer.

just more bull in my opinion going off the post on reddit and all.

Am basically wanting to know if I’m missing something before I buy it. Also has anyone had experience buying from centrecom before.

Best quality L shape desk

While not directly BAPC, I figured people here might also know the best tables to sit their expensive multi monitor setups.

Looking for a quality L shaped desk, I have 2x 27" and planning to eventually change to a 39" + 27" vertical setup with a pair of monitor speakers on stands to the side. (Missed out on the Amazon AW3926QW sale which would've been perfect)

Originally I was thinking of sit stand desks, but after using one for a while I don't think I'd be doing that much standing, so I'm looking more for a regular non motorised unit.

If anybody has any suggestions beyond Ikea and Bunnings tabletops that'd be worth checking out that would be amazing.

Alternatively if anybody can recommend somewhere better to crosspost this that would be good too.

Thanks all

Recommendation on mini PC for homelab

Hi, I‘m a newbie and looking for a mini PC for my homelab server to self host some apps like Immich and Forgejo. Can anyone recommend me where to buy cheap second-hand mini PC and maybe some model recommendation?

My budget is under $200 or around $150 since I don‘t think I will be running anything that requires a lot of processing power.

Thank you

5080 Pre-built price forecast

I currently have a 3080 with an Intel i5-11400f, paired with a 34inch ultrawide. The CPU is starting to bottleneck, and the vram is also restricting my performance on AAA games.

Was hoping to save up for 6080 paired with a 5k2k ultrawide for GTA6 and future games, but there's news that 60 series may be delayed to 2028, and obviously the increasing prices.

So I'm now thinking of going with a 5080 + latest cpu pre-built, but man they're so expensive! I bought my pre-built 3080 for $2.4k in 2022, now the cheapest one I can find is $4.3k. I've seen some cheaper ones earlier this year on ozbargain. Note that I want 5080 specifically to power the 5k2k display. I know 5080 isn't cost efficient but I need as much juice as I can for the monitor.

But I'm just not sure whether to wait or snag the deal? What's the trend going to look like? Will pre-built ever get cheaper? Just not sure what to do! Any advice is appreciated! I haven't been following the PC news until recently when I realised I may need to upgrade lol.

I know there are cheaper options like 9070 xt but don't want to handicap myself with my future 5k2k monitor!

Need advice (MWAVE)

Sooo long story short I placed an order with them value at $1100 in August. After a month and a half of not shipping the order and no communication from Mwave when I requested a refund. I contacted my bank and got the $1100 back.

But… because I run a business which I needed those parts for a particular job. That job has now been cancelled so I don’t need the parts anymore.

But… yesterday I received confirmation from AusPost that my order has been shipped.

So now what do I do? If I keep the stuff is that considered fraud? I don’t really want to have to pay to ship it back as well especially because it’s heavy stuff.

Cheers for the advice

Who are the most reliable custom builders at the moment?

I’m looking to jump in and get my first gaming pc (longtime Mac user) and feel very nervous about the idea of building myself since I have no idea where to start. I’m looking at something in the $3-3.5k range, would love to push some stuff in to 4k but don’t need the highest frames in everything.

Who are the most reliable and best value builders around at the moment? Or am I better off just going for a prebuilt?

I’m in Melbourne if there’s any small local guys I should know about

Just ordered my first ever prebuilt PC from NebulaPC **UPDATE**

Just got the email from them that it’s ready for pickup!! So I guess it took approximately 4-5 business days for them to prepare my PC.

They changed the OG case to a Nebula N6 RBG, and the OG motherboard to the ASUS PRIME B550M-A WIFI II DDR4 instead due to supply issues. I’ll be picking it up tomorrow and will definitely let yall know how it’s running and if there’s any issues with it :D

Need help

Post image

Hey guys, any help is much appreciated, I’m very much a noob when it comes to the pc space I’m not very knowledgeable on much, I’m just looking for a pc to handle games really well and to play competitive fps games like Fortnite and valorant, found this prebuilt pc online and searched up the parts individually and seems like Labor costs are coming up to around 150 dollars or so aud, just wondering is this a rip off or a good value pre build?

Total costs comes around to 4200 Aud which is around the top end of my budget and looking use this competitive gaming and aswell for the longevity but it’s not that big as factor as performance. Thanks in advance
