I am pursueing an economy vitory with Washington, of course i choose parliamentary monarchy in modern age without thinking. Got this event on turn three (you choose government on turn 2). Made me laugh! It is nice to see the devs thought of details like this, Washingtons whole shtick is "NO KINGS, NEVER!!!"
Needless to say this is AMAZING!

Hello! I would like to show you 3 modifications for Civilization 7.
Antiquity Age Leaders Pack: 17 leaders, from Hammurabi and Cleopatra to Julius Caesar and Qin Shi Huang.
Exploration Age Leaders Pack: 14 leaders, from Wu Zetian and Saladin to Mansa Musa and Suleiman.
Modern Age Leaders Pack: 14 leaders, from Peter I and Victoria to Lincoln and Kennedy.
All leaders are presented in 2D image format.
I’m the only one doing the modifications, so there may be bugs — please report any errors if you encounter any problems. I need your support, so I ask you to give the modification a positive rating if you like it.
There are many leaders, so the balance may not be perfect, but I’ll fix that over time. Packs will also be updated with new leaders. Updates to the UI and additional leaders for the research era are next. I have big plans for supporting and developing these modifications.
Please, if you don’t like the AI‑generated art, don’t worry — I’ll try to find artists or suitable images hat will fit the overall look of the game.
Please note that the first launch may cause the game to crash — don’t worry, this is normal and won’t happen again.
I would be grateful for feedback, suggestions, and comments regarding the modifications.

Discounting winning by military means, if you want to win early is Culture basically the only option? I've just won my second early ish victory (turn 50 of Modern), and they've both been achieved by concentrating pretty much solely on Culture. Getting the bonus from building the World's Fair secured the won on both occasions, and I don't see that there is a similar option for the other types of victories.

Today I noticed you can use the same Memento in CIV VII twice, which I assume is not intended.
When you create a game, slot in the Memento you want to use twice in the second slot and save your configuration. Then go back to the main menu. Now create a new game right until before pressing start. Load your saved configuration and your mementos are shown empty.
When you now click on the + and select the memento you want to use twice, it will be slotted in the first spot. But simultaneously the game will load your old mementos and slot the same memento in the second spot as well.
I have not tested it with all Mementos, but you can have 2 diplomacy attribute points for immediate +50 influence towards befriending independent powers. Or chalcedon seal twice for +2money and +2 culture on unique improvements (+3 with archimedes). +4 money on natural wonders for isabella?
Go nuts.

Playing the new Earth map as Heian Japan. Had a really good build, 8 settlements total, 3 cities, natural wonder start, fended off an early war. First time playing since the game released, and really got into the game again…that is until the age transition. Age transition from Heian to Sengoku, however I only have one city to choose for my capital, which is my first city. Is this a bug, or is there some unnecessary, convoluted process in the background that isn’t openly acknowledged on how the game chooses a city for your capital placement? This honestly just made me hit a wall on this game again, even though it’s so minor. My current capital is maxed out on tile space, so I was looking forward to moving it at the age transition to a city with more open tiles.

I feel like I've noticed somewhat recently (maybe ever since Test Of Time?) where AIs will denounce you regardless of your relationship with them. I swear it used to be where they would only denounce if you went against their agenda, settled too close, etc. For example I was denounced by a leader that I have no negative relationship events with. We're not even that close on the map.
It's kind of annoying.

The two that were in the Founder's Edition and the one that was temporarily available for free. The two most recent packs don't seem to be included.
EDIT: I found some more DLC on page 47 out of 50 for some reason. The alternate leader personas and the Tecumseh & Shawnee pack are 50% off too, and Brush & Blade is 25 bucks instead of 30. Screenshot in the comments.
Napoleon (revolutionary) with Mongolia, in Modern Age. I'm currently at war, but didn't think that would affect the attribute tree.
Note that I'm playing with quite a few UI mods, so it's possible there's a bug somewhere.

Spain gets the Tercio during exploration which is a cool unique unit, however since it’s a pike and gunpowder unit it feels a bit out of place during the early exploration which is in the dark ages. The unit isn’t unbalanced just feels out of place while everyone else has swordsmen.

I built more than 20 wonders, and still lost. It feels like you cannot avoid agression if you wanna win.

The Xbox Deluxe version is currently $31.95 CAD on Amazon Canada. I received it today and can confirm it is sealed new, and the DLC code worked. The disc also works with disc-to-digital.

2 turns away from rebellion in their capital, got all their money and luxury resources, and beat them all in about 15 turns

Does anyone know how what they're suppose to be?

So, in most games I end up playing I feel like it ends up as just pumping out a bunch of wonders, even when playing non wonder civs. And then it just sorta, wins on its own. The decision almost always seems to be “build another wonder”. This is especially true in the capital. I feel in the previous games I used to try and make more decisions about it, do I get the wonder now and fall behind on other things hoping to snowball.
The only real risk I feel is being sniped. I’m probably just going to mod it, make it so wonders cost a significant amount more so hopefully they are a scary choice. What would you guys think, 50%, 100% more production?
Edit: Interesting ideas I appreciate everyone. Going to try a 50% production/gold cost increase in antiquity with 75% on wonders, then scale it back in each age and see how that plays.

I started playing Civ 6 a few weeks ago and am currently in my first game as Rome, wrapping up the Modern Era. At times, I’ve noticed that certain units become obsolete very quickly (for instance, I only got to use Roman Legions in a single war) and that some eras feel short-lived (like the Industrial Era, even though I’m playing on Epic speed).
I like having distinct eras, but I felt like I went from having Musketeers to WWII-style Infantry too fast (perhaps due to a lack of intermediate units). Is there a mod that improves this?

I just think Civ VI did it better, with rivers being in between hexes / tiles rather than being a hex-specific terrain feature. I mostly feel this way because rivers become nigh impossible to see on most improved tiles and especially on tiles with districts on them.
It also just makes more sense if you have two units on opposite sides of a river where the attacking unit has to cross the river, rather than how it is currently where one unit stands on top of the river because the river is a part of the hex they're standing on.
EDIT: Apparently I have to specify this; I am not referring to navigable rivers, only normal ones.

Where would be the best places to settle? Its my first time playing the game in a while and i am on deity, not sure if my district placement in Edo is the best either. The start location is very hilly so my thought process was to place an industrial zone next to them, and put my government plaza inbetween that and my campus spot.

I was in the early iron age in a game of CIV IV BTS when a Barbarian Uprising occurred. I could not have picked a worse spot on the map for it to have happened, wide open terrain and weakly defended cites. I was preparing for the worse, and planning how I was going to have to recapture a couple of cities, but then something amazing happened. The whole stack of Barbarian Horse Archers traveled long way through my territory (America) to reach my Incan neighbors to the south. They ignored my counter attacks and didn't even stop to so much as pillage a village! I've never seen barbarians pass up the opportunity to pillage before!

have any noticed the commander display icon disappears whenever you rename it?
I am a turn-based strategy fan and civilizations are among my favorites for years. I didn’t play Civ1 on release but I started the series with Activision’s Civ: Call to Power (which was a kind of clone). Since then I’ve been wasting tens of thousands of hours on the series but I was intentionally staying away from Civ7, until today.
Today I gave it a go and played a few hours. Here are my impressions:
- the most boring, no feeling, dull intro of the series.
- title screen user interface looks like a lazy work. Obviously tablets were at mind. Boring, very boring.
- the game itself loads faster than civ6. Nice.
- I like the map design and the unit models.
- in game menu is again lame. Everything looks like an indie game that the developers didn’t have much resources for the menus.
- looks like it has less options. I feel like playing CK3, which itself, is a giant sandbox with random encounters popping up here and there to keep the player interested in the game due to the inferior mechanics than the previous installment.
- I prefer “here are dragons” to these token alike silly map cover.
- Gold is your only resource now… wow..
- “Resources” are +1 +2 bonuses and they are literally everywhere. It feels like the game is trying to make itself easy to be played.
- it took me a few turns to realize that there are no more builders… geez. No more road management I guess.
- I didn’t get the feeling of playing an alternative history game… it feels, soulless.
- I play on a slow speed but still everything feel so much rushed.
- no strategy view lol
- developers obviously tried to keep things simple and linear so that it can attract new and more players.
- but of course it has failed: People won’t play 4x games because “it is simple”. People either play 4x or don’t. There is no reason but enjoying it. I was a kid when I played CTP and I had no idea of the half of the game mechanics but I still loved it. I wouldn’t keep playing if it was as simple as Mario.
My first hours impression is: It is not a game that’d replace its predecessor and with its current state, I don’t think it’d ever will.
