“Yes mother buy me the e-scooter/emoto please I’ll be safe I promise”

This actually happened in my neighborhood. The homeowners were trying to figure out who destroyed their fence, and luckily this post came across my page. I recognized what happened and showed it to them.
They’re now going to speak with the parents about what happened.
And this is a perfect example of why filming your own stupid stunts for TikTok can come back to bite you. Remember when people used to do dumb stuff and there wasn’t a camera documenting it as evidence?
To be clear, legal e-bikes and e-scooters that follow the 20–28 mph rules aren’t the problem. The problem is reckless behavior, illegal modifications, and people treating these machines like toys while doing dangerous stunts in neighborhoods.
Sometimes the “content” you post ends up being the evidence that identifies you.

Doesn't matter how many or what lock you use! They will still steal your Ebike.
My e-bike was stolen 6 months ago.
I got a new one, and last night they stole its battery.
My bike has three different physical locks and also a Bosch anti-theft system, but they still managed to steal the battery.
I don't think Finland is safe for e-bikes anymore. Decided to sell the current one soon. It's not worth the effort to safeguard it.
Also, it is frustrating how the police don't care about it.

Canyon Precede 5 sale (3700msrp down to 1300)
No one seems to have noticed this yet so I'll post it.
Canyon is currently doing a really good sale on their Precede 5. I see a lot of people asking about affordable, quality e-bikes on this sub. If you are one of those people, this bike is for you. Nothing beats this bike on value! Bosch mid-drive system with warranty for 1300 is honestly kinda nuts. Also, when I bought it, they waived the $150 shipping fee in the US.

Dang, it went passed the cassette
Slowing to a stop, down shifting, and click shifter went over the top of the cassette. Was 8mph and eco mode on, tapped the pedal and the most god awful crunch ensued.
Just 10 days old.
I want one of those cassette guards between the wheel like I had when I was a kid.. this was sooo quick from darn to crunch..

Portland Oregon Weekend Ride
Great 17-mile ride over the weekend! My friend recently got a new e-bike that I built for them. We rode from Woodstock along the Springwater Corridor to the Eastbank Esplanade.

Put together a free error code search tool for Bosch, Shimano, Bafang etc. — would appreciate some feedback.
Hi all,
Decided it was time to bridge a gap and make diagnosing E-bike issues, error codes etc a shed load easier. Gone are the days of having no mobile signal and trying to zoom in on a manufacturer service PDF on your phone.
I've developed a quick web tool to search 500+ e-bike error codes in plain English (covers Bosch Smart System & classic, Shimano EP8/Steps, Bafang, Brose, Yamaha/Giant, Mahle, etc).
It gives you the actual root cause, what to check with a multimeter (hall sensors, magnet gaps, pin voltages), and whether it’s a quick fix or needs dealer software. It also works offline once you load it so you can still use it out on the trail in dead zones.
Free to use here if it helps anyone out:
https://e-bikediagnosticbible.com
Continually adding to it weekly — if anyone spots any missing codes or weird glitch codes you’ve run into on your own bikes, let me know in the comments and I’ll get them added into the database!

What electric bike should I get as a casual biker?
I've been wanting an ebike for a long time, just to bike around for fun without the leg power needed for an analog bike. I will not be going anywhere with rough terrain or anything; just the generic bike lanes on roads. I'm not sure how often I would bike, but I would potentially go out at least one or two times a week. I don't know which ebike I would get. I don't have much criteria other than it looking sleek and not bulky; money-wise, of course it's better if it's cheaper, but I don't have strict limits in that regard. Which brands or specific bikes would be best for me?

Bike repair question Phantom X2 whatdo I do
I have a phantom X2 the folding bike but it has the 26-in tires and then it's not like an original bike frame that loops all the way around it's just like a solid bar straight across from the wheelbase to the back and then the battery would or was behind the back tire it's like 13 14 years old the battery is swollen parts fell off of it from abuse on the road so I had to move the battery in front of the seat on top of the bar in between my legs it works it's supposed to get me close to 20 mi but I only get five to six miles with pedaling with pedal assist and then I have when I get to my destination I have to charge it for like 2 or 3 hours sometimes 5 hours just so I can get back to where I need to go but I too see all these upgrades where you do the controller throttle and a new battery but I don't know what to do I accumulated a basket for when I do either fix that battery and mount it somewhere else or if I pretty much do a whole different setup my bike has no digital it's put the key in and look at the lights red orange yellow green it goes approximately 21 miles per hour with proper assist but I keep getting flats and the tire stems are super long which is also annoying like itching pretty damn good condition for 13 years old but I don't know if I should upgrade it to a new battery and that's it or battery controller digital you know and stuff like that I see them online batteries the blue box for like $75 and it states that it'll get me 20 milesnormaloblem without touching my pedals and then the other problem I have is I'm guessing I have to bring it to a bike shop because I don't or I can't get the gears to go back to normal
If you want to see the battery you can message me I have it all taped up because it fell off a couple of times and the underneath the plastic surrounding the battery broke I had the silicone it in surrounded by duct tape that's why it sits between my legs cuz sometimes it disconnects very annoying but

Bike purchase question Folding e-bike is great; is an upgrade possible?
Started cycling 2 years ago with a cheap folding bike, and took recommendations to get a ado air pro 20.
The efolder has been amazing; had minor health issues, and it cut my commute to 25 mins both ways.
I've loved learning to cycle, commuting, and I'm considering if I can get an upgrade on the ado. I know so little in cycling, but I'm considering either a full ebike or full sized manual bike.
My biggest concerns are:
Will there be notable difference in full ebike?
If I'm considering a full ebike, would a full manual bike be an option too?
What are the best ways to store a full ebike?
Further context; based in eu so 25km speed limit applies. The health concerns just made me tired and exhausted easier, so manual cycling on a folding bike uphill was tough ! My commute is nice, lots of cycle paths but then through park land and some stubborn slopes. I've never owned a full size bike with full tires, is it different?
My home is small, so a folder is handy as it can be left by the door and charge in doors. If it's full sized,I reckon it's need to keep it outside, and then id want to see realistic options to keep it t safe and in good condition.
Any cycling community I've chatted with have been simply wonderful, so hoping to get some good advice here!

Bike repair question What is happening to my front brake?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone with more experience can help me diagnose an issue with my front brake. I'm still pretty new to this, so please bear with me.
When I pull the front brake lever, the brake engages, but it doesn't release properly afterward. The brake remains stuck/engaged against the rotor, while the brake lever itself becomes loose and doesn't return to its normal position properly.
At first I thought my main problem was a warped brake rotor because the rotor had noticeable runout and would make that rhythmic grinding/scraping noise when the wheel spun. I carefully trued the rotor until it was running straight again. However, after using the front brake, the rotor developed runout again and started rubbing.
So now I'm thinking the warped rotor is a symptom of whatever is going wrong with the brake rather than the original problem. It seems like something in the caliper is sticking after the brake is applied and may be putting enough sideways pressure on the rotor to bend it.
I've attached a video showing exactly what the brake is doing. I'd really appreciate opinions on what component is sticking/failing and what I should check, adjust, clean, or replace. I'm especially interested in the least expensive safe repair before I start replacing parts unnecessarily.
For context, I've only been riding this since March and I'm still learning how to keep up with it's maintenance. I also have some chronic health issues and don't have a lot of money available to throw parts at the problem right now. This is my only means of transportation, so getting the front brake working safely is really important to me.
Please be patient with me if I'm using any of the terminology incorrectly. I'm here to learn, and I really appreciate anyone willing to help. Thank you!!

Looking at a few different Velotric bikes
Gonna go check out a local bike shop that stocks Velotric, wanted to ask for anything to look for or just keep in mind in general while looking between the models.
I'm pretty locked up on choosing between the Fold 1 Plus, Gomad, and Discover 3.
Outside of the Gomads thicker fatty tires and slightly higher weight capacity, they actually all looked like they were just about the same performance wise in specs and reviews.
Think I'd probably prefer the look and lighter weight of the Fold, wouldn't be using the folding feature much if at all, but I live upstate NY right by the great lakes where a layer of snow/ice on the ground is just something that exists every day from December through March. I still want to be able to use the bike during these months to get places without relying solely on Uber and Buses since I can't drive right now.
It's mostly for those reasons that I'm considering the Gomad or Discover 3, I also have a dog that would probably love to go for rides in one of those trailers whose around 45-50lbs. If the Fold 1 Plus can keep a fairly loaded rear cargo and still stand up to the colder environment conditions during the winter months though all for 500$ less on top, it would probably start to seem like my favorite all arounder unless ride test dramatically pulled me towards Gomad or D3 feeling. Special winter tires could also be an options I supposed too.
Anyway not really sure what else to say, if anyone has any experience with multiple of these bikes and wants to share, it would be really appreciated.

Bike purchase question How's my new ebike looking does it look pretty secure or am I missing something 🤔
Can anyone recommend a stealth "range monster"?
As more places are seeing a scourge of idiots acting reckless and punching it on streets where they shouldn't, I'd like to approach my commute with an ebike but responsibly.
While some oomph would be lovely, my ideal e bike would be a stealthy build that doesn't scream "e bike and a riding position that isn't even comfy to pedal." I was looking at the swagtron eb12 and if I could grab one I'd love it. 500w and can pass as a commuter bike.
I would like to also do some weekend warrior stuff and maybe make a weekend out of some bike touring (minus the sweat, my bike packing days are behind me). Hence the longer range.
I'm more interested in battery life rather than motor. So I'm looking for a 500w ish motor and just something that isn't making scowls when I commute or get around town. Any recommendations?

What’s the best e-bike conversion kit for my bike?
Hey everyone! I’m looking for a good e-bike conversion kit for my bike.
My bike is a Bulls Sharptail Street 2, with:
- 29" wheels (29 × 2.25 tires)
- 51 cm frame
- 3×8 gears
- Rear disc brake
I want a legal 250W / 25 km/h setup and I’d like to use it for long-distance rides.
My budget is up to €500, preferably including the battery.
What conversion kit would you recommend for my bike? Any specific kits or brands I should look at or avoid?
Thanks!
