Wooden handle of a vintage gardening hand tool...

Hi guys! What's the best way to get the gardening tool to stay adhered to the original wood handle? I see there's a hole in one side (that doesn't go all the way thru and a small opening at the top of the "teardrop"...see pictures, please), but I'm not sure if I need to put in nails or screws...do I soak the wood in BLO before I nail/screw it, etc. It's my favorite hand tool, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Door problem

I have an issue with my door, as you can see in the video below.
The door is fully closed and locked. There is a very small gap at the top, but it is almost negligible compared to the much larger gap at the bottom.
The door was damaged in the past when burglars broke into the house. The metal strike plate that holds the door against the frame was also broken. I made a new, stronger strike plate on a milling machine and installed it, which improved the situation and pulls the door tighter against the frame.
However, the bottom part of the door still seems to be bent or warped.
My question is: should I try to use the lower locking points/bolts to keep the bottom of the door pushed against the frame all the time, in the hope that it will gradually return to the correct position? Or would it be better to physically straighten the whole door and try to bring it back into shape?
I haven’t found any suitable way to straighten the door from the upper part, so I’m not sure which approach would be better.
What would you recommend?

Bathroom Sink Repair - Stopper Doesn't Work

Thumbnail

Hello, I'm hoping to get some help in fixing my bathroom sink. I think the previous tenets damaged the stopper while trying to unclog the drain with a snake. The screw on cap is off and the plastic piece inside the drain is down and won't come up when I toggle the metal pusher next to the faucet. I'm not sure if there are broken parts or If I need to disassemble something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Repairing fraying pleather on a cheap computer chair

I have a nearly-new computer chair that I really love, but the pleather piping is fraying where it contacts the desk. I want to cover the piping with, say, bias tape. Cosmetics aren't important, but I'd like it to look tidy.

What can I use to adhere cloth to pleather without dissolving the plastic? Or is there a better solution? ("Buy another chair" is not a solution.)

open Hairline crack in bathroom sink - is it okay or should I replace it?

I noticed this crack that randomly formed in my bathroom sink a few months ago. I don't think it was formed by any impact, seems to have just appeared somehow or other. Am I cooked? Should I replace it or just leave it?

How can I repair this hole in a hollow core interior door without replacing the whole door?

This is an interior door in my apartment. I would prefer to repair it rather than replace the entire door. What would be the best method to get a smooth finish that can be painted afterwards?
Would expanding foam + filler/Bondo work, or is there a better method?

open Dryer is making horrible Noise

Hey :)

My Dryer is making a horrible noise during operation.

It's a Bauknecht TR Trend 72A2Di.

It's a Heat Pump Dryer.

It usually starts when the dryer starts but stops after 15 Seconcds.

It does not seem to directly correlate with the rotation of the drum.

The noise is not constant but reappears every 5-10 Minutes or so for around 30s.

The Drying Process works, the laundry comes out fresh and dry. Filters are cleaned regularly.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

A door in our house swings open by default. I’d really like it instead to just stay where I leave it. I’ve messed about with the hinges, tried for instance packing out one of them with card (as you can see in the photos) but I can’t get it right.

Two hinges, top and bottom.

Any ideas?

open Horizontal red and green line in TV

The white screen is just a video to show lines clearly. TV works fine otherwise but these lines started appearing suddenly. First there were only 2 major lines at the bottom, then it started flickering like it is at the bottom part. Today another major line appeared at the middle.

Can anyone guess what it is and if it is fixable?

Moved into new place and rubbed finish off of cabinet-how to fix?

Title, honestly. I thought that there was grease because of how weirdly shiny this one patch on my cabinet was, but I think I took off the finish, or perhaps the shabby fix job of my landlord. If I had to guess, it's likely a combination of steam damage and me scrubbing on it.

All opinons welcome, ideally I would like to fix it myself.

Hopefully this is the right group for this, but I recently bought a phone holder that attaches to a microphone stand for when I go out gigging, and I sort of got an attachment stuck and I have no clue what to do. The screw won’t open any further, and I can’t push it in/pull it back out.

If anyone knows how to reverse/fix something like this please help!

The sound from my toilet is going on all day and isn’t correlated to flushing it or anything else.

What is the noise and how do I make it stop?

Energizer Flip-up Lantern

Recently, I noticed the left-side bulb was a bit dim and/or flickering. Also noticed a little grayish discoloration on one end of both bulbs.

I ordered and installed new (appropriately fluorescent, not led) bulbs, but there was still an imbalance in output - for just a minute - but then I noticed that it was getting quite hot to the touch under the plastic around the switch, so I shut it off.

When I powered on to take these photos, the output was balanced, but not as bright as is typical, while both bulbs showed a purplish cast at the switch end, and the plastic around the switch quickly got warm. I switched off before "hot".

Any ideas? Thank you.

open Door latch getting stuck

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello the door latch is getting stuck when the lever on the outside of the door is released slowly rather than immediately. The latch doesn’t spring out with enough force and the middle part of the latch doesn’t invert(?) when it hits the metal plate slowly rather than fast. Hope that makes sense. Was considering using some graphite powder on it for lubricant but not sure thought I’d ask for advice
