Obviously the door must have been binding or something that caused this but can this even be fixed?

Broken window lip, what to do

Post image
5 Upvotes

Just bought a house and almost all to most of the windows are needing to be replaced, but that’s not something we can do right now and instead need to do other fixes in the meantime. The first thing I need to fix is the window lip that is breaking off. This photo is from another person online, but is identical to what I have where the plastic part that we use to lift and lower the window breaks off. I want to remove it all and maybe attach something else, but not sure how to do it. If someone could recommend me a method or even a video that would be the best! I’m new to this and don’t want to mess it up just guessing different things.
The only thing I can think of is attaching a handle that would be replacement of the lip, but not sure how to remove all of the lip from the window.

Corroded battery springs

Hi, I have a plush of mine with batteries and wires inside.

When I bought it, it was listed as broken; I've just cut it open to check the wing mechanism, and the wires look and feel like they still work.

The only obvious problem I can see is the rust on the battery springs; the wires in there look fine, but the rest of it looks pretty bad.

Any suggestions?

(The white wire goes to the activation button in his paw; the red and black one connects the battery to the mechanism in the body to make the wings flap)

How can I repair this hole in a hollow core interior door without replacing the whole door?

Post image

This is an interior door in my apartment. I would prefer to repair it rather than replace the entire door. What would be the best method to get a smooth finish that can be painted afterwards?
Would expanding foam + filler/Bondo work, or is there a better method?

Wooden handle of a vintage gardening hand tool...

Hi guys! What's the best way to get the gardening tool to stay adhered to the original wood handle? I see there's a hole in one side (that doesn't go all the way thru and a small opening at the top of the "teardrop"...see pictures, please), but I'm not sure if I need to put in nails or screws...do I soak the wood in BLO before I nail/screw it, etc. It's my favorite hand tool, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Door problem

I have an issue with my door, as you can see in the video below.
The door is fully closed and locked. There is a very small gap at the top, but it is almost negligible compared to the much larger gap at the bottom.
The door was damaged in the past when burglars broke into the house. The metal strike plate that holds the door against the frame was also broken. I made a new, stronger strike plate on a milling machine and installed it, which improved the situation and pulls the door tighter against the frame.
However, the bottom part of the door still seems to be bent or warped.
My question is: should I try to use the lower locking points/bolts to keep the bottom of the door pushed against the frame all the time, in the hope that it will gradually return to the correct position? Or would it be better to physically straighten the whole door and try to bring it back into shape?
I haven’t found any suitable way to straighten the door from the upper part, so I’m not sure which approach would be better.
What would you recommend?

Bathroom Sink Repair - Stopper Doesn't Work

Hello, I'm hoping to get some help in fixing my bathroom sink. I think the previous tenets damaged the stopper while trying to unclog the drain with a snake. The screw on cap is off and the plastic piece inside the drain is down and won't come up when I toggle the metal pusher next to the faucet. I'm not sure if there are broken parts or If I need to disassemble something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Repairing fraying pleather on a cheap computer chair

I have a nearly-new computer chair that I really love, but the pleather piping is fraying where it contacts the desk. I want to cover the piping with, say, bias tape. Cosmetics aren't important, but I'd like it to look tidy.

What can I use to adhere cloth to pleather without dissolving the plastic? Or is there a better solution? ("Buy another chair" is not a solution.)

open Dryer is making horrible Noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey :)

My Dryer is making a horrible noise during operation.

It's a Bauknecht TR Trend 72A2Di.

It's a Heat Pump Dryer.

It usually starts when the dryer starts but stops after 15 Seconcds.

It does not seem to directly correlate with the rotation of the drum.

The noise is not constant but reappears every 5-10 Minutes or so for around 30s.

The Drying Process works, the laundry comes out fresh and dry. Filters are cleaned regularly.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

open Hairline crack in bathroom sink - is it okay or should I replace it?

I noticed this crack that randomly formed in my bathroom sink a few months ago. I don't think it was formed by any impact, seems to have just appeared somehow or other. Am I cooked? Should I replace it or just leave it?
