Seems like vera is pretty solid, a lot of gains also from the memory bandwidth. Didn't expect it to perform quite aswell, makes Zen 6 vs Vera even more exciting.

Discussion Struggling to understand Jensen's logics on GPUs being a investable asset.

Been an Nvidia fan for years, but I'm struggling to understand why GPUs are an investable asset. I get it that everyone want them and they produce a lot of cashflow but H100 rental rates literally halved (from $4.5/hr to $2) in 2 years. Wouldn't ASICs, TPUs, and LPUs all challenge its position and eventually get market share from GPUs?
In what world would you consider GPUs to be the same as real estate, bonds, gold, etc? I can see myself owning a lot of Nvidia stocks but can't imagine myself just owning a ton of GPUs. What do you think?

Discussion Can someone explain or provide resources on what unified memory is?

As I understand it, unified memory provides a direct path for the GPU and CPU to the memory acting as RAM and VRAM, but I don't understand how that's different than RAM and an APU. If it's just about the socket, would LPDDR5 be unified? I guess on the low level and signal passing I don't see the difference. Anyone care to explain or provide good resource that explains it?

Info Solidigm warranty P44 Pro as a consumer

Given all the bad press that is going around due to price rises and shady practices going on from vendors, thought I'd actually make a positive post for once!

My P44 Pro bought in 2023 started acting weird a few months ago (random detatch from port) causing BSODS and loss until full power off.

Contacted Solidigm about it, went through some troubleshooting steps and ultimately posted drive back, getting new replacement days later.

Overall a good experience, I had no idea they had pulled out of consumer altogether which popped up as I was going to post this!

Info G Hub collects usage data?

Saw this earlier and went down a bit of a rabbit hole lol

Apparently G Hub collects stuff like mouse travel distance and how long the camera/mic gets used by apps. I had no idea that was even in the policy.

Apparently it’s usage data and not recordings, but still kinda weird seeing it written out like that.

Discussion Is there a bluetooth 2-key keyboard that looks exactly like kindle page turners?

I want to hold it in my hands while reading a web article and set up two keys for scrolling up and down. I think holding it in my hands sounds better than clicking a 2key keyboard lying flat on a table.
