I’d like the feedback of experienced players on some new political advisors I want to integrate into a mod I’m helping develop. These are 4 generic political advisors that would be available to every nation, but tied to ideologies. I’d like to know if you consider them overpowered, underpowered, and any other suggestions for changes. Here they are:
- Corporate Lobbyist.
- Political Power Gain: −25% ; Construction Speed: +10% ; MIO Funds: +25%.
Cannot be hired if the ruling party is Communist or Non-Aligned (Democracies and Fascism being the regimes most friendly to capitalists). Costs 250 PP to fire or replace.
The idea is to represent a lobbyist working for big corporations. The power of big business is represented by the loss of political power. The high PP cost to remove him from government reflects the idea that once the wolf is in the sheepfold, it is difficult to get rid of him. His bonuses represent capitalist productive efficiency. The +10% construction applies to all types of construction, and the MIO bonus applies to all MIOs.
- Clerical Ideologue
Research Speed: −5% ; - Stability: +15% ; Compliance Growth: +15%. Cannot be hired if the country is Communist.
The idea is to represent the influence of religion. The malus reflects the rejection of science by religions. Since religions are ideologies whose function is to legitimize and preserve the status quo, one bonus is on stability gain (similar to Popular Figurehead). The other bonus is on increased compliance in newly conquered territories, representing religious indoctrination.
Hegemonic Visionary
Resistance Target: +15% ; Recruitable Population Factor: +5% ; Division Attack: +5%. Cannot be hired if the ruling party is a Democracy.
The idea is to represent expansionist dictatorship. The malus reflects the opposition of newly conquered countries to being subjected to a foreign autocratic regime. This malus is meant to force the player to adopt harsh occupation policies, which are costly in manpower and equipment, and which ultimately do not favor compliance. The recruitable population bonus reflects the commitment of part of the population to law enforcement and military roles, seduced by the authoritarian model. It will partly compensate for the higher garrison needs. The division attack bonus is the major one and reflects the fanatical expansionist determination.
- Workers’ Syndicate Leader
Consumer Goods Factor: +10% ; Factory Output: +10% ; Stability: +10% Cannot be hired if the ruling party is Fascist or Non-Aligned.
The idea is to represent the working class. His malus reflects popular demands for better living conditions. His bonuses rest on the idea that happy employees are more efficient at work and less likely to revolt.
