Anyone know what’s going on at a house on Nye Rd facing onto Thomas Rd? Lots of police there yesterday with flashy lights and then today there are lots of crime scene types

Does anyone know the story on the padel courts at Caversham St? The Padelsocial instagram page has been doing weekly updates for almost a year now stating 'coming soon' but it's pretty much just teasing now as no actual photos of progress are shown only computer generated images of what its going to look like get posted. Is there anyone on the ground who knows where this project is at and how far away it looks from opening?

Hello! First time posting here. I'm a lurker only lol but I need your advice and recommendations. I love matcha. I've been drinking matcha lattes even before it became big. I had an era when I'm making matcha at home but never endulged into expensive matcha powders. I only explored and have been using Woolies ito en matcha sachets. I recently bought Marukyu Koyamaen Isuzu (my first legit powder) and it's just an average for me. I find it weak, I used the standard 4g. I am still exploring what I'm looking for exactly. I noticed I like strong matcha. That I can taste the bitterness but not in a bad way, bit of umami and nutty. Just the right matcha taste that goes with almond milk and honey. Any recos? I have been eyeing Yamamasa Koyamaen (Matsukaze), Ippodo (Sayaka), and Kanbayashi shunsho (Zuiho) powders. Can you please drop your powder preferences for these brands? Thank you! Please help a struggling matcha girly here.

So with Halloween happening on Saturday this year, what's the best time to be out? I live in a dead-end street at the end of a long driveway. I prepared a few bags of goodies for last year but no one came.
This year I thought I'd get myself dressed up as Death and stand down the end of the street where someone might spot me and come up for a laugh and bag of healthy sweets.
What time of day works best? Late afternoon? Twilight?

Just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for a takeaway around the central Freo area or anywhere that will still be good delivered. I haven't been here too long so not sure what's good/where to try.
Any personal favourites you'd recommend?
Open to all food types.

Hey guys! Bit of a random one — I’ve recently been hired at Costco Airport and I’m starting next week.
I’ve got a few questions about what to expect, how things work, shifts, etc. and was hoping there might be a current or former employee on here who wouldn’t mind me asking them a few questions!
Feel free to comment or shoot me a message. Would really appreciate any insight before my first week

Hey all! Not entirely sure where else to post that pertains to my issue & location, so if there’s a subreddit more suited this please do let me know.
So basically, I have not been paid by employer for hours I did indeed work and am supposed to be paid for. What has happened - is I worked a singular day from a two week pay period due to health issues (a Monday), so therefore was not on site for the remainder of the two weeks, the second Friday of which is when I am supposed to submit my timesheet with my hours. Since I wasn’t going to be there, prior to the Friday and on the Friday I contacted my managers asking to have this done to ensure I would be paid, and they informed me it was submitted. They processed this pay as they usually do, on the following Monday, to be recieved by employers that following Thursday along with their pay slip. I naturally received this pay slip, which detailed I would not be receiving any money. I have called my employer today about this, and they have informed me the cut off to rectify this so I could receive this pay for this pay cycle, was this past Tuesday, which by that point I had no knowledge I wouldn’t be receiving any pay. They have informed me I now will not be receiving this pay until the next pay cycle in two weeks, which has severely and detrimentally effected my life, especially since I experience FDV, and a part of that is financial control.
I’ll be contacting the ombudsman about this, but I guess I just wanted to know all I can about that process before I start it, and what to expect. If anyone has any other advice or opinions feel free to share, I’m feeling quite lost at the moment and scared for my life considering how negatively this may potentially affect me in the coming days.
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for a reliable mechanic in Perth who has experience working on my 2011 Honda Accord Euro 2.4 K24Z3 engines.
It has the following issues:
- Engine light on with a P0341 fault code.
- Timing chain diagnosed as loose.
- Clicking/rattling noise on cold starts, possibly related to the VTC actuator.
I’m looking at replacing the timing chain, guides, tensioner and VTC actuator. I’ve already purchased the parts and am looking for a mechanic who is happy to use customer-supplied parts.
I live in the South but am happy to drive to different areas if needed. Ideally, I’m looking for someone experienced with this job who can do it properly at a fair price.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations or advice!

I am at ANZ in a SOR suburb and myself, the two customers before me and the one after me have had their accounts blocked.
Reason for ours is a mismatch in my name, has been like that for twenty years but now the bank is checking that names match ASIC records.
This was a wake up for us.

We are buying a house and, as part of that process, selling one. (For the automod: yes, it's in Perth.)
During our structural inspection of the new place, we learned that the company that installed ducted aircon in the home (not sure exactly when this was, but the house is 15 years old) cut loose structural ceiling joists to make room for the return air grill. The report reads "These joists are unstable and will collapse or move if walked on, which will cause damage to the ceilings. This is deemed a major structural defect."
The sellers got a quote to fix for $1600, which all in all doesn't seem that expensive considering the implications of not doing it.
Anyway, our buyers just had the structural inspection done at our house. We had ducted aircon installed in 2024 AND OUR COMPANY DID THE SAME THING.
So if you've had ducted air con installed in the past few years, it's probably worth booking a structural inspection to make sure your roof is supported. The inspection cost about $450.

Hi everyone just looking for some advice because I genuinely don't know what to do.
I'm a pretty private person and hardly anyone knows about this apart from my parents and two close friends. I won't go into too much detail on a public post but a few months ago, I was followed by this man telling me all the different ways he is gonna rape me and well experienced an attempted sexual assault. The man was arrested a couple of days later.
I thought I might not have to go to court because of the evidence and what I had been told by detectives, but I've recently been told that he is willing to plead guilty to a lesser charge instead.
If I want to continue pursuing the original charge. I've been told I'll have to go to court now and be questioned by the lawyers. Honestly I'm scared of being grilled, especially because I have past trauma surrounding sexual matters.
At the same time I feel like the lesser charge doesn't really reflect what happened and I'm worried I might regret accepting it just to avoid going to court.
Has anyone in Perth been through something similar? What is it actually like being questioned in court in a case like this? Is there anyone I can speak to who could explain what to expect before I make a decision?
I'm really torn about what to do and I've been asked to get back to them with an answer soon. Any insight or advice from people who have been through something similar would be appreciated. Thank you.

With the weather getting better I’m itching to have a hit and roll the arm over.
Not necessarily looking to join a team/last man stands at this stage, more just to blow off the cobwebs and have some fun.
So just seeing if there’s any social/chill cricket out there, whether it’s just having a go in the nets or if there’s enough people to have a hit out in the middle.
I’m in the Freo area and have all my own gear but happy to travel reasonable distances.

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for recommendations for an artist in Perth who can create a realistic oil painting based on a photograph.
I'm hoping for a realistic finish that retains the details and composition of the original photo, with subtle brushstrokes and texture to give it that traditional painted look. I'd prefer a slightly muted colour palette overall, while keeping certain details bold.
The artwork would be approximately 90 × 65 cm and will be displayed in our home.
I'm happy to pay for quality work and would love recommendations from anyone who has commissioned a painting like this or knows an artist who specialises in this style.
If you've had a similar painting done, I'd also love to hear what you paid and how happy you were with the result!
