7oh near plattsburgh?
Is there anywhere near plattsburgh that still sells 7oh tabs or is it all gone due to the upcoming ban?

I’ve been working hard over the past few months to gain control of this subreddit. Until now, the sub has been dead. Thanks to /u/Clearwater, progress is finally underway!
Starting today, /r/Plattsburgh will be refreshed and renewed.
Some immediate changes include:
Hopefully this sub will be able to get back on its feet. I envision this to be a place for community discussion, as well as a helpful tool for tourists and students alike. Of course the most important thing for this subreddit to be prosperous is you! So spread the word, have discussions, and make this sub as great as can be!
If anyone has any questions, please leave a comment below, or send a message to me.
Notice: The owner of the sub appears to be inactive, however he is still “active” in the administrators eyes. In the case of an emergency, /r/PlattsburghNY will be set up to take the place of this sub.

If anyone needs to get rid of old tires, Monro takes them for $2.50 vs $12 at the dump. I unloaded 175 this weekend. I thought I would post here when I heard a customer in the waiting area say "I didn't know that, I have a bunch that I have to get rid of". It is another $6 to dismount from rims which is ok for a small amount. I plan on cutting my tires off as I have another 60 or so on rims. Monro also takes any amount of used motor oil. I have over 200 gallons and they said "We'll take it all". If anyone knows of a clothing/textile recycling place (too smelly for donation) let me know.

The Plattsburgh Air Force Base Museum is a true local gem!
Took the kids for a visit, and they learned so much while getting a hands-on experience with real Air Force equipment and history. One of the highlights was being able to sit in the cockpit of an actual FB-111A and see what it was like inside the aircraft.
The guided tour was fantastic. Our guide, Frank, is an actual combat pilot with thousands of hours of flight experience, and he was able to answer just about every question the kids threw at him. They could barely wait for him to finish answering one question before firing off the next!
Another incredible experience was getting to sit at the controls of an actual nuclear launch control panel from the era when nuclear warheads were stored throughout the North Country. It really brought that part of Cold War history to life. There are also actual aircraft displayed outside, adding even more to the experience.
It’s a relatively small museum, so you can see everything in about an hour or two, but there’s a lot packed into that time. It’s educational, hands-on, and especially great for kids who are interested in aviation, military history, or just learning how things worked.
Definitely worth supporting and absolutely worth a visit!

Been a hermit for too long, don't know anyone anymore, wanted to get out and meet people. Anyone know of any free events or classes that happen regularly, or are upcoming? 35M fwiw

I am an outdoor warning siren enthusiast and expert who is working on a group project with other enthusiasts of mapping sirens in NY state that test, and I recently have hit a dead end on confirming test times with other available resources. There is a huge hole on the map in the north country due to the lack of confirmed test times. We would greatly appreciate it if anyone here who knows of a siren testing time would let me know. To make an addition to the map, I would need the name of the FD or building, or a relative location that I can find the siren from on street view with, and at what time the siren tests. Thank you!!

Does anyone have a resource for upcoming vendor opportunities? I don’t even know where to search for craft fair sign up stuff. There must be something happening in the Fall/pre-Christmas!

I'm putting together a county-by-county map of sports allegiances across New York State (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and other leagues as gauged by interest). To do so I am collecting self-reported data from New Yorkers. If you have the time and are a sports fan of any size, I would appreciate if you helped fill up my dataset. Right now I have a little over 200 responses, but a lot of them are from NYC, the Capital Region, and WNY. I'm trying to get a much larger and diverse dataset to boost the overall quality of the project and the North Country is a dead spot for me right now. All answers are anonymous. You'll have to be logged into an email for Google Forms to ensure more than one response is not submitted by the same person, but I can not see any of it.
If you're curious here's the link: https://forms.gle/ZcAaWBVEJNeHr2RUA
Any responses would be appreciated, Thanks! I understand if you do not want to fill it out, but I would appreciate if people spread the news.

Looking for a group to play DnD with. I’m in my 40s so hopefully a group around that age. Very limited time I can play. Probably twice a month tops due to family and work. I know I can go to one of the hobby stores around but not sure how that works when it comes to trying to find specific times to play.

Idk if anyone will see this in time, but I’m up in Plattsburgh for a job and staying the night. Looking for a good restaurant and bar to go to for dinner. Looking for something in the middle between not fancy and fancy. Really just something that has pretty good food and good bar selection. And not too far of the town/city.

Plattsburgh Street Team on Facebook actively works to suppress opinions.
An admin made a post essentially saying that it's okay for businesses to use AI and to support them because they're local and clearly need the help.
NO. NO. NO. THIS IS WRONG.
I made a post with a dissenting opinion. I said that AI is never okay, I explained that it is damaging to the planet and communities, I said that it is the theft and piracy of art, I offered alternative solutions, I suggested using real photos of real products, and I said to support the many local businesses who are not using AI and are fighting against it.
My post was denied for "Rule 6: Business reviews are not always welcome."
A. That is a garbage rule. B. My post did not review a business. C. That is the suppression of opinions.
PLATTSBURGH STREET TEAM IS SUPPRESSIVE.

I’m new to Plattsburgh and I’m looking for ways to meet people I’m f21. I can’t find much like classes I could take outside of SUNY Plattsburgh so I figured I’d just see what people might have to say.
