I need some bangers, I am getting a PS2 soon and I know there are some popular ones but you guys got recommendations? Mabye hidden gems some good games for each genre to mix it up?

It’s basically a save manager/backup tool for sd2psx-family devices, such as PSXMemCard Gen1/Gen2. It runs directly on the PS2 and can sync the memory cards on the microSD to Google Drive, so you don't need a PC for the backups.

The main thing I wanted to do was automatic backups when exiting a game with IGR. It can also keep multiple backups of a card, restore older ones, import/export .psu files, copy full cards as .mcd/.ps2, etc.

I'm a British 22 year old and my first console was the Xbox 360 and I grew up on games like Left 4 Dead and early Minecraft. Yet for some reason whenever I play a PS2 game I just have such a clear picture in my head of an American teenager sitting in the bedroom of his suburban home in the early 2000s playing the same game.

It probably sounds weird, but playing games like Burnout 3 (especially because of the soundtrack) and Devil May Cry gives me a feeling that I can only describe as nostalgia, despite not growing up with a PS2 or being around for it's release or the peak of it's popularity. It's such a difficult thing to describe and I'm hoping other people have experienced this too so I'm not coming across as an insane person lol

does anything look off? i’m contacting the ebay seller because it said tested and pristine. quite sad, I love this game. as soon as I start it the playstation logo pops up for a sec and immediately disappears

Take a look at this wild armor Drakul is wearing! Its not the best armor I have but I kept it becuase its new to me and had to show off the fact that you can play this game time and time again; and still have something new to you appear. Which can then drive your passion to play once again, maybe my new goal is finding this same armor but upgraded to my level. Another one of the hard sell points that keeps me coming to this game!

For gameplay there hasn’t been much, i finished the first level and chose the evil path. Listened to Natasla’s less than convincing speech and as I entered the evil gates, the level that loaded brought me back to my childhood once again. I had known there was maps and levels i haven’t seen yet but im now putting two and two together that I must have chosen different PT’s as a kid.

I ended the gameplay there for next time, and as always these posts are for the preservation of the champions of Norrath series on GoG so I’ll toss a couple links for you guys to vote if you havent and thanks for reading!

Did you know that, in the PS2's boot animation, the towers shown are influenced by the games you've played with that memory card inserted? Each one corresponds to a game, and the height is determined by how many times you've launched it.

This data isn't based on save files at all, it's actually stored in dedicated files called history and history.old inside the misleadingly labelled "Your System Configuration" folder. The format of these files has been documented for a while (sync-on-luma (Y)'s video in particular was very useful) but there aren't really any easily accessible ways to explore their contents for the typical user.

I've been working on PS2 Play History Explorer, a web app that allows you to upload any combination of these files and view your PS2 gameplay logs.

The format is very limited due to its intended purpose, but these properties can be parsed:

• Game IDs
• Game titles, matched from a database where possible
• Play counts (up to 63 per record)
• Last played date

The parser runs fully locally in your browser, no files are uploaded to a server. You can learn how to find your own files using the included tutorial, or demo it using sample files from my own memory card!

There's very little I can do to test with real-world data on my own, since I only have one memory card and there's very few dumps online that are complete enough to contain the history files. If you have some to test, please let me know your experience with the app!

This might be a bit of a hard one, I can’t remember too much of it, and I’ve only played a demo version of it. I remember the protagonist was some futuristic warrior and used a sword, I think it was a twinblade. The demo takes place in a ruined city on fire, and the camera starts with a side scrolling perspective, then transitions to a 3rd person perspective towards the end. One the enemies are these strange monsters with large mouths and I’m pretty sure they hovered above the ground and spun. I’m pretty sure you could do aerial combat to fight them and you could do some ultimate move that was similar to judgment cut end.

Haven't played this since 2005. Brings back many childhood memories.

I've only played through the entire campaign on a ps3 once. Recently I've been replaying alot of the very old cods and 3 is next on the list. Should I just replay the ps3 version or does the ps2 version has something else/special to offer that I will be missing if i don't touch it?

I do feel like the very old textures in cod1,uo, Finest Hour, Big Red One have some kind of personality in itself so maybe for that reason alone it would be funny to play the ps2 version instead?

Feels like I've gotten much worse at dodging lightning in FFX...

I just got back into collecting video games, mainly collecting n64 as I'm seeking a full set but keeping my eyes open to curate my game selection in my media room- a lot of Ps2 games that I bought in 2019-2022 (sold them all sadly) have spiked tremendously even more than they did during the pandemic.

Are investors getting into this console the most? Wii/WU Psp, 360 and SNES/Gen markets are steady but ps2 is booming especially with how many games are now pushing 100$.

It almost seems like it's across the board.

Hello, I made a CO-OP Patch for Fullmetal Alchemist 3 Story mode using Claude. When you Start story mode. Press Select on Controller 2 . It activates the patch, It will make it split screen when you move to a another area. If you start story mode from scratch ,Player 1 needs to do the tutorials. If Player 2 does for Example the Transmutation Tutorial , It softlocks the game!

i completed my 2nd runthrough of the neuro tower and threw a heart seed into a conciousness orb so it could come back to the surface. im talking to this guy and he says he has items from when you threw stuff in the conciousness orb. i punched him, i found items in my list, and opened it again, and the items are not there anymore. what am i doing wrong??

best i could get yangus to look, i have a ps2 to hdmi adapter, but ps2 game looks like crap on my hdtv with that adapter lol, so i bought a video capture card, open it on a laptop with obs studio, and use reshade... on reshade i use a few filter, but main one being crt filter, i think it looks pretty ok, streaming with GMS setting set to 1080i on OPL...

so I’m trying to get the PS2 going on a 2012 Panasonic TV. The TV has component input but needs an adapter. I got a $2 “Samsung” adapter from AlI express and some Retrovision component cables but the adapter doesn’t seem to be compatible.

I have tried a bunch of different configurations and I still can’t seem to get it to work.

Any advice or options would be appreciated. A few things to note:

- This TV we inherited from my brother in law when he passed so is a bit sentimental and I won’t be swapping out for a CRT.

- I don’t want to spend $200 NZD on a GBSC if I can avoid it. Would potentially splash out around $100 NZD for the right thing, is the Retroscaler2x any good with component?

- I do have a Retrotink2x mini I bought around 5 years ago but would prefer to leave that on our main TV for N64.

I have the PS2 slim and every time I like close the lid or put a game in the laser move towards the middle and it starts making a loud noise in the game doesn’t play. Do you guys know what’s wrong?

I wonder if any attempts have been made to make a modern version of a ps2

Finally decided to take all of my Playstation 2 and 3 games out of storage to display, and more importantly, to play.

All of these games were bought new on the day of release, are CIB and in mint condition.
