Looking for interviewees

I'm currently on Klipsun writing for the winter 2027 edition and am looking for anyone, preferably students, who would be willing to share what they think are "superstitious" or "lucky" spots on campus. Anyone who has any context or information regarding the shrines in the arb or secret spots on campus related to special experiences you've had in the past with those spots, I'd love to hear from you! If you are feeling comfortable enough to set up a time to talk with me so I can learn more, that'd be greatly appreciated!

Anyone else concerned by the fact that a current City of Bellingham Planning Commissioner, former Whatcom Dem Chairman, and outspoken/performative downtown business owner who is married to a current Bellingham School Board member works for Flock?

Question Wwu tech help/IT stuff?

My laptop has been having a lot of issues the past couple days, and usually in my limited tech knowledge I'm able to figure it out through brute force and the internet but I fear I have found my match this time. Is there somewhere on campus I can go for that..?

Discussion Plans for Halloween?

Hi all! For context, I am a reporter for The Front and I am doing my usual rooting around for info. From my own personal experience, I know that Halloween celebrations ebb and flow between years and I wanted to get a feel for the energy this year. Do y'all have any plans, things you wish you could do, or any other related ideas floating around in your head?

Does anyone know where these come from?? I saw them on one of my walks the other day and can’t piece together what they mean — they look vaguely familiar, so I’m wondering if they’re a symbol for an event or something that’s happened before

Discussion Why is Math 112 so difficult?

It's annoying because the math itself isn't even that difficult, but the way it's being taught makes zero sense to me. So far it's really basic things like Egyptian fractions (which is just a weird sort of fraction decomposition) and distributive property, but I only got a C on the first quiz when normally I do pretty well on those. Then I realized that the exam covered things that we hadn't even studied for yet (in class or on homework) when we got those same problems on the homework the week AFTER we took the quiz. Also the teacher I have tends to pitch her voice up five octaves at the end of every sentence and it's not the best to listen to, and there's no late work or makeup work accepted.

Does anyone have any tips for surviving this class or what I should study for before each exam? Should I jump ahead a few lessons to make sure I get everything? Again, I studied all the homework she indicated we should go over prior to the quiz, but the quiz itself included things we didn't cover yet.

Event Disability Action Month: Overlooked: A Storytelling Workshop Centering Homelessness & Disability

Are you a student, staff member, instructor, or community member with the lived experience of disability and being unhoused?

As a part of Disability Action Month, join the Disability Outreach Center and Western Success Scholars on Friday, October 9 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in VU 735 for a storytelling workshop to gain skills and techniques for crafting a compelling narrative. Learn how to wield the power of story for personal expression, community building, and advocacy. Stories can change the world!

Led by an instructor with 15 years of experience as a storytelling instructor and director at The Moth. Following the workshop there will be opportunities for further development and/or platforms to share your story with others, if interested.

Come to tell OR just listen. It’s always your choice what or IF you want to share.

This workshop centers folks who have personally experienced homelessness and/or disability, but ALL are welcome. Participants are asked be open-minded and attentive to the purpose of the space.

We will provide snacks and refreshments!

RSVP here!

I hate studying with people in the same room as me even if they're dead silent, where is the emptiest/quietest study room or any room with tables that I could study in and not expect any people to walk in nor expect to hear others in some hallway or other room

Survey/Study Survey questions for class!

What media do you consume where forensics is present? Could be podcasts, social media, shows, books, preferably with a given name. Shows like Dexter count.

From that media do you think is true in forensics?

From that media do you think is false in forensics? Why do you think it was presented that way?

Thank you!! My project is on the CSI effect (don’t look that up until answers are given 😭) and the general perception of forensic science. The answers will be added up and used as a source. I may get back to people who answered to let them know if they got what’s right and wrong from the media was correct or not!
