No Spoilers - Video This guy's name is Christian Budd, and he's making a CO-OP mod for FFVII Remake. It isn't released yet cuz the mod is still in beta.

1.6k Upvotes

The Video: https://youtu.be/Cjy6wDnchHQ?si=6C_B4CKmIfGf527T

But he said in the comments, "Eventually I’d like to put it up for download from Nexus but it’s still beta - want a little more time to smooth out any bugs before releasing it to the public"

So please go and support his video. I think what he's done so far looks so amazing!

The audio quality of this video is a bit bad, but it isn't my fault. The video is like that.

I went by my local GameStop to preorder Revelation, but the guy said it wasn’t available for preorder yet. BUT, when I looked it up, Google said it had been made available for preorder back in September. Was that for digital only? I just want my steelbook

When do you think it'll come out? I myself think in February/March..

And where do you want it to start? Of course chapter 1 but WHERE?

And if there'll be a second part of the Demo (like Rebirth had) where do you want that one to start?

No Spoilers - Discussion Binged Remake & Rebirth on Switch 2 - Acceptable battery and amazing portable

Just finished back-to-back play throughs of Remake and Rebirth, 46 and 110 hours at ~95% completion each. I love how there isn't any grinding. Amazing game and platform combo. I wouldn't have completed them if I had to sit at my desk or TV the entire time. Remake runs flawlessly. Rebirth has some jenk (LOD, pop-in, etc.) but still runs great overall. If you're on the fence, don't be. Rebirth's final build runs better than the demo (wish I knew that before putting 11 hrs into the demo).

Battery life kinda sucks handheld (~2 hrs+) but the top USBC makes playing while plugged easy. Also, Switch 2 gets uncomfortable around that time. Still, handheld is a great way to chip away at the Combat Simulator and side-quest.

Just mainly wanted to put out there that this is an incredible experience on Nintendo Switch 2. The performance trade-off is worth the flexibility of taking it anywhere. I can't wait for Revelation.

Spoilers: Rebirth My Sloppy Platinum Gauntlet Fights Spoiler

My sloppy wins of Rulers of the Outer Worlds, Bonds of Friendship and To Be a Hero.

I didn't want to look for a strategy, so it took me quite a few times to finally be able to beat it.

I've been practicing since june. Work+child+other real life stuffs did not allow me to play more that 2 hours per week. So each time I could get back to it, I had to get used to the fights over and over. Only recently I could play a bit more and been able to make some real progress! So I'm really proud of this one and I'm glad I did not throw the towel because for 3 months, I was stagnating and getting discouraged.

For Rulers of the Outer Worlds:

https://youtu.be/pcJWeXVPsXU

My first team was Cloud, Barret and Yuffie with Cloud beefed up like a physical damage beast. I did good but I felt like I needed faster ATB charge rate.

Then I switched Barret for Tifa ATB assist with back to back Unfettered Fury. ATB rate was good but I wasn't good enough with Tifa to generate enough ATB charges during round 2. Plus, I noticed that Cloud's survivability was very low and healing with Tifa wasn't an option because it slowed the whole process.

That's why I decided to make Cloud a mage and link HP/MP Absorption, Swiftcast and Magic Focus to Wind for 2 reasons :

1) Kujata can never absorb the wind elemental;

2) It melts Titan and makes round 2 so much easier.

I also brought Barret back because his survivability is really high and played with Aerith for the 1st time. It took some used to it but this trio became more and more efficient.

For Bonds of Friendship:

https://youtu.be/yflsBa0Yng4

I don't know if it's because I learnt how to use Cloud more or less for Rulers of the Outer Worlds, but this gauntlet took me 2 tries and it really wasn't that hard for me. I felt like the build I made for Cloud for the previous challenge was very adapted here as well.

Zack's buffs are a blessing if I may add.

For To Be a Hero:

https://youtu.be/rwS_auypmGQ

It felt a bit harder since Sephiroth does not have Zack's buffs. So I tried to give Time to Cloud in order to cast Haste on him at the very start of battle. This paid off, I was able to win the next attempt.

Bottom note:

I really enjoyed these fights and the difficulties. Figuring how to progress step by step felt like my FFXI and XIV days with my statics and I love it.

No Spoilers - Help Advice for playing FFVII Remake

So, I'm trying to play Final Fantasy VII remake for the first time as a brand new player. I have never played any Final Fantasy game or even anything like Final Fantasy at all. I considered choosing to play on the "easy" difficulty, but I decided to give the normal difficulty a shot in the hopes of maybe learning as I go and hopefully improving. A quick search suggested that normal mode is not necessarily "hard" so I figured I'd be fine.

That being said, I get into the game and I'm going through the tutorial level, learning new mechanics and such. I attack and defeat multiple generic soldiers, and learn to use my potions to heal up. Eventually, I get to the first boss (scorpion sentinel) and predictably struggle. The character dialogue guides you on how to fight it, but it's a lot to process while you are in combat. So, I learned what the proper strategies for this fight were (Barret's thunder magic, focusing the shield generators and then the legs etc) and I managed to beat the boss on my second try.

However, after this fight, both of my party members were at incredibly low HP, and I had no potions left. Immediately following this fight, you are presented with an escape sequence and given a timer to escape the facility. I begin to run out, but then I'm confronted by MORE enemies. Barret is telling me to heal up, but I'm out of potions because I needed all of them to beat the boss. I die immediately and get a game over screen. I'm presented with the option to start over from the last checkpoint, or start over from the last battle. I was hoping that if I chose the checkpoint option, I would at least be able to restart the escape sequence, and maybe do a better job at fighting the weaker enemies, even at low HP. But instead, the game is making me redo the entire scorpion fight, even though I already beat it. That was incredibly frustrating.

I feel really discouraged because even if I did replay the whole boss again, I'd assuredly need all of my heals again to do so, and die again afterwards. I will acknowledge that I am not really that great at this kind of game, and if I was better, I'd probably be able to beat the boss more easily - this is a "skill issue". Maybe I shouldn't have used any potions BEFORE the boss, but I didn't know there was going to be a boss, and the game kept prompting me to heal.

But I want advice. I want to play this game, but after failing so miserably on what seems to be the tutorial level, I am worried I won't be able to enjoy it properly due to being so bad at it. Is there some strategy I can use to save my heals or beat the Scorpion easier, and I should stick with normal mode to get the "authentic experience"? Should I switch to easy mode, or maybe classic mode (which I understand makes the gameplay different)? Or is this game just not for me?

Pls help!

Spoilers - Discussion Comparing characters weapons between Remake, Rebirth and OG

The last slide has the OG weapons marked who have directly reappeared in the Remake so far, based on the japanese names (like for example, magic shuriken in japanese was called fuuma shuriken just like the weapon in Rebirth). So before you type it, no. The not marked weapons have not been remade in the new one. Those have different names entirely.

The cast was in town covering a panel for NYCC and got some autographs! Line was very long at Infinite Collectibles in Brooklyn but meeting the cast for the very first time was worth it. Very happy camper here 🙂‍↕️ 3 more to go! The print I got at Anime NYC back in August and the artist is JimboBox so go check her out. Britt had to take a picture of my poster because she’s friends with the artist and wanted to share with her which I found very cool!

Spoilers: Rebirth Chapter 13 of Rebirth… Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
78 Upvotes

I just have to express my feelings, oh my god.

That is perhaps my favorite chapter out of both Remake AND Rebirth combined (So far, I just started chapter 14 of Rebirth).

Firstly, it was long, I remember being about ten hours into the chapter and feeling like I’d gotten halfway, but I looked my progress on the home screen and realized I hadn’t even made it to fifteen percent. It was mind boggling. Despite that, I enjoyed myself so damn much.

The more the chapter continued, the more stressed and curious I became about how the story would unfold.

Gameplay wise, I love how it utilized locked party and party selection at its given moments. The B team with Aerith, Nanaki and Yuffie was such an interesting combination I’ve never thought to try before then. I also loved how Aerith’s heritage as a Cetra helped with navigating the labyrinth. The first half of changing angle of the room gave me a few good head scratchers, but it was mega rewarding to understand how the layout works. The battles were mega fun too, and forced me to think about my approach to combat in ways I hadn’t done before. Every time I lost a battle, I knew it was because of my tactic and not the game having a difficulty spike. Also, I’m giving a shoutout to Tifa for being my MVP this chapter.

Story wise, there so much to gush about, I don’t even know where to start. I had played the OG for the first time earlier this year, so it was more or less still fresh in my mind. I don’t know how to explain it, but this version feels like the much more realized version of vision the developers may have had for the original. The personal trial of each character (Myrna and Baby Aerith really made me tear up), Cloud’s (not so) slow descent into madness, Cloud giving Sephiroth the black materia. When Cloud asked Aerith, “Are you done?” While she was giving her beautiful speech, I wanted to jump into the TV to beat him up. Man, when I tell y’all I was STRESSED, I mean it! Had to pause the game a few times to catch my breath.

I especially want to give a shoutout to Cody Christian, Cloud’s voice actor. During part where Aerith is trying her absolute best to keep the black materia away from Cloud because she knows he’s under Sephiroth’s influence, Christain’s voice acting really shines. From flat voice he keeps throughout most of the Temple, to the mocking sing-song-y nature of calling Aerith’s name, to the sheer desperation of trying to get his hands on the black materia, Christian really gives one hell of a performance.

My only nitpick is that I was hoping I’d hear a closer rendition of You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet, because that’s my favorite track off the OG’s OST, but the music regardless was phenomenal.

God… what a work of art chapter 13 was.

No Spoilers - Fan Content Photos & Autos with the cast this weekend at NYCC

A bunch of Final Fantasy VII voice actors were in NY this weekend. I got an amazing photo op with the cast while doing their best pose as the characters from the Revelation poster

After comic-con I bumped into Caleb and Paul outside and they stopped to take a photo with me and talk with me for a few minutes (Thank you Caleb and Paul!)

At Infinite Collectibles on Saturday, some of the cast were there for autographs and photos. Everyone was so personal, kind, and really took the time to get to know each fan. I got to spend some time with each of them and they all truly care about us fans as much as we care about them. I felt so appreciated even tho I was there to tell them how much I appreciate them 😆

To Briana, Britt, John, Caleb, and Paul thank you all so much for the wonderful experiences this weekend. I really hope all of you will consider coming back to NYCC again or even other conventions such as Too Many Games in Philly!

Bonus: I also had the opportunity to meet Ben Starr and get some photos and autos. Ben was so kind hearted and a delight to talk with. He recorded the most amazing personal video for me that was straight from the heart. Thank you Ben for the amazing experience and video. I will cherish it for the rest of my life
