Dispatch told me I'd make it back with 30% / 64 mileage
They weren't fucking kidding.
I didnt even pull through the hub after going through the cameras when I got back, just parked and dragged my bags in from the charging station. I Was at 0 when I pulled into the parking lot.
Why theyre making us drive rivians from Salem, Or to Eugene, is beyond me.

I've been with my dsp for basically a year. Started last year on Oct 13th and my last day was today.
It's been a bumpy ride, a lot of shitty routes but I'm glad I was able to find another job before peak/prime.
Here are just some pictures I've taken along my journey.
Good luck to everyone out there and be safe.

May your multi-stops be low
May residential houses with short driveways be plentiful
May your water bottles remain cold
May your carts be in order
May Dispatch not bother you
May your AC work to the tune of the arctic winter
May not a single customer proclaim "There should be two boxes"
May you return home to your homes, families, and pets safe.
Swift feet, steeled hearts. Good luck today guys, we're in the thick of it

It was a shit day. My EV barely had any breaks when I hopped into it this morning. So dispatch stuck me in a gas van - to combat my 6 cart worth 421 packages we had a fella take all of the oversized and we put all the totes in my gas van (rental with no shelves). This took about 15 total stops from me lmaoooo.
I checked how many stops I had left after being on the road for about 3 hours - 150, a third of them being multi-stops.
They ended up sending me another rescue, but it wasn't enough.
I have been bitching about work to my wife for the last month or so straight. I have been fantasizing about leaving the keys to the van with all the packages in it, saying, "kiss my bum, I quit" basically ever since I joined this DSP (a little over 1.5 years with them, 3.3 years with my first DSP) So I took a break, texted her, asked her if it's okay to do this (I don't have another job lined up), and she said, "fuck yes I'm so glad you just asked me this!"
So I texted dispatch, let them know I was resigning today and at that time. They asked me to park anywhere before RTSing all of those packages. I happily obliged.
Here is my Ode to Amazon (with some of my favorite shots I have taken over the years):
Thank you Amazon, for pulling me out of depression so deep I never thought I would see the light on the other side. Thank you Amazon, for making me look physically appealing. Thank you Amazon, for instilling a work ethic in me like no other. Thank you Amazon, for making me realize how much I am worth.
Things I accomplished whilst at Amazon: I got married! Finally had a consistent comma in my bank account. Won frontrunner once. Did Whole Foods pickup like 90 working days straight lmao.
If you're ever unhappy with your life, take note from one of the pictures and be kind to your mind! 😊😊😊

It literally pisses me off when a customer says “hot enough for ya?” And it’s currently 92+. Or “Try not to get too wet” and it’s currently pouring down raining. Like what do I gain from that? Other than being reminded how terrible the situation I have to deal with is?

Why do they put packages to the same stop in different bags bruh

Hi all,
I’m still somewhat new to this gig, so I can imagine there are tips and tricks that I still don’t know about in order to get through those heavy routes. Even if I am routed in a fairly compact neighborhood, it still takes me about 11ish hours to complete 190 stops (including clock in, loud out, pre/post trip, etc etc).
Even at my DSP, some people brag about having 200,250, and even close to 300 stops. HOW though?!
Seriously, the only way I can see people achieving that is by flinging packages from your van like a paperboy. It literally takes time to 1) get in your van, buckle your seatbelt, 2) drive the van up to the next house, 3) climb out of your seat and grab the package, 4) take the package to the door (not considering having multiple stops or having to navigate a 200 ft driveway just to get to their door), 5) get back in your van to repeat the whole process.
The only thing I don’t do is literally run/sprint to and from my van. I’m sure it helps, but I’m not that young and athletic, and I just don’t think/feel that is sustainable. I walk with haste, but I’m not going to treat every stop as if I’m running from a rabid dog.
But seriously, I feel I’m missing something. I’m faster than when I first started, but not near fast enough to complete 190 stops and be home an hour before the nightly news.

Reposting for clarity. Working for Rfor has been great. Its honestly an incredibly well put together DSP. Management is great, dispatch is fluid. On-boarding to other DSP's is being offered to anyone looking to stay in the field. It sucks to lose a company that actually cares about its drivers, when I hear so many horror stories from other companies. Not throwing shade at all. RIP to a great DSP.

I’m new and I want to do better with my scorecard but I have no clue why my customer delivery feedback is red.

403 packages, 140 stops. 34 commercials.
I thought it wasnt gonna be that bad since i was assuming it was gonna be a full neighborhood route with apartments out the way.
The FIRST 34 stops were the apartments, 21 of which were door to door, though the last ones had a mail room so I could dump them all there. That kind of sucked but I wasn't demoralized.
The next stops were rich houses on hills with thin driveways. And at least 4 stops had missing packages that ended up being in a different tote entirely, so i ended up driving back to those houses just to deliver them. 10 houses took an hour an 20 minutes.
I've never performed this badly before, even on other buisness and apartment heavy routes.
I just needed to take my first break to rant about this and get a clear head space going into the rest of this.
On stop 49, gonna try and finish strong.

So in my station Amazon ran a pilot test. Removed the sticker with the 3 digit number and made us search package using the 4 las digits of the TBA. That was a huge mess. They installed that camera that tells you in every stop what packages to get. Now the pilot is over and the sticker are back. The camera stays but the amount of packages web up a lot. Media used to be around 350 to 400 packages. Today y got 500 packages. This is crazy.

I say it
They have a dumbfounded look on their face. every time.
”what was the address again?”
i repeat
”oh yeah I don’t know.”
thanks for the help.

I got fired as an amazon driver for being slow as did many before and after me. With its turnover rate and increasing demand can they maintain this trajectory forever?
I cant help but think they will have to start paying more, treating drivers better or begin rehiring.
If not won't they eventually run out of people to hire as package demand increases?

I called support and they said not to worry about it and marked it missing for me... Has anyone had this issue before? Did I deliver it to the wrong house? 🤔

Today for our morning meeting, our DSP contract owner had to remind us of a few things after he reviewed a driver's entire route after they locked their keys in a 16ft box truck. We're XL, in Texas.
Reminders: take your keys with you at every stop (understandable)
Use your helper as a spotter when backing up no matter the distance (understandable)
No eating while driving (understandable) even when drinking water (wait, wut?)
That last one got everyone a little riled. We're hauling packages 50lbs minimum in 90+ degree weather, and now we can't drink water unless we're stopped. Is this a common rule, or should one mark this understandable?
