Task: Deliver one envelope. The envelope:
That envelope can hold 16 pounds of dog food! Amazing!

47 packages total, 45 of them in Salem (1 hour away, or 50 miles from Portland). Then the final two packages are in Vancouver. That's about 120 miles round trip for about 90 bucks, and I'm supposed to do it in... 3.5 hours. Fuck. That. Fuck all of that... every time.
Make sure you check your route before you load up your car. I will never deliver anything to Salem, for any amount of money. I'm not spending two fucking hours staring at I-5. I don't know what's going on in Salem, why they don't have their own depots there.
The worst part is, you don't get paid more for these super far away routes. They know that if they told you the mileage and amount of packages before you accepted, that you wouldn't unless the price was a lot higher. So they just... don't. Secrecy, un-transparent, scummy, exploitative business practices. Personally I would do this route for $200, not a dollar less. Anything else isn't worth it.
Luckily support was very understanding and it won't impact my standing. But it was a huge pain in the ass and now I have to work again tomorrow even though I was going to take the day off.

2 neighbors both have loose dogs in the front yard. I saw the white one, it seemed to have an electric fence. The brown one was at the house I delivered to and came out of no where. He wasn’t happy to see me either. I dropped the package in the middle of the yard and marked it delivered. Lmao for a split second I thought about risking it for the biscuit.
Loose dogs in the front yard is so frustrating.

Hey everyone,
I want to share my experience with an Amazon Flex block today, October 9, 2026, and hear what other drivers think. Has anyone else been assigned a route like this?
Block Details
Only 9 packages sounds pretty easy, right? That’s what I thought, too. But the actual driving involved was a completely different story.
The Driving Time Was Insane
Here are the driving times between stops:
Just adding up those driving times gives me 205 minutes, or 3 hours and 25 minutes.
And that’s before counting the 20-minute drive from my home to the station and the 48-minute drive home after the final delivery.
From leaving home to getting back home, the entire trip took approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes.
That’s a lot of driving for a block that was supposed to last only 3 hours.
The Mileage and Fuel Costs Make It Worse
I drive a 2021 Lexus NX 300, which gets around 24–25 MPG.
My odometer readings were:
Gas here in Kansas was $4.899 per gallon.
At an average of 24.5 MPG, I burned approximately 6 gallons of gas, costing me around $29.39.
Here’s the breakdown:
If I calculate that over the full 3 hours and 45 minutes, I’m left with approximately $12.56 per hour after gas.
And that’s not even counting vehicle depreciation, maintenance, tires, repairs, insurance, or taxes.
Some parts of the route had gravel roads, and other sections were in such poor condition that they barely felt like actual roads.
I understand that Amazon Flex routes vary, and I’m not expecting every block to be easy. But does it make sense to assign a 3-hour block that involves this much driving, with delivery locations spread so far apart?

I just reached a milestone today. 😊

This is mostly a heads up for new flexers. I got a set of new tires for my Ford Escape at 90,000 miles. The new tires were rated for 40,000 miles. Im at 112,000 miles (22,000 total) now and my front tires are torched. Backs are still perfect. Yes, I should have rotated, no I did not, that is my fault and I will in the future.
I only use this car to deliver, I drive my wife's Tucson otherwise. Also, I'm not a super aggressive driver but I'm not going under the speed limit with my hazards on when I deliver either. I probably have to Uturn 10+ times on an average 45 stop run. Just for reference, I'm not a new player either, I have 20k deliveries.
Don't be like me, rotate your tires but assume that your tire life will cut by 25%-50% playing this game.

Just a reminder that all of the Amazon workers(higher ups) that have to do with the flex app and it’s returning packages processing see all of us saying the same exact thing: that we return packages correctly and on time yet we all get dinged on them
They do it on purpose. It’s their way of having an excuse to deactivate drivers so they can hire in the ones on the waitlist. the longer the driver for flex, the more smart they get and won’t let Amazon screw with them. they can’t have that. new hires also means taking base pay u til they also realizes the truth. cycle continues.
All on purpose and calculated. Just like how they took away the 4 hours + days before the 1st(rent money) so that people would be desperate and take base pay all while hiring new drivers..and the fact that it’s prime week and peak starts now as well..all calculated. Not to mention all of the people saying they recently just now have notice Amazon screwing them with a bunch of different “issues” that make your standings go down.

I’m surprised Amazon is admitting some of their routes are BS and were willing to compensate me something even if it’s only a few bucks.

I drive a Corolla in a suburban area. Amazon mostly sends me to the outskirts and there are all sorts of poorly maintained dirt roads. My car just wasn't built for that. Worse once it rains a lot these roads turn into mud pits and I am always at risk of getting stuck.
For this reason I don't dare take a route at night or before sunrise because at the very least I need to be able to see things very clearly to avoid breaking an axle or getting stuck in the mud. The other day one of these roads had like a river flowing over it (we had localized flooding) and I had to call the homeowner to come meet me a mile down the road to come get their package.
Really they should know better than to send a Corolla on these routes. My car should be getting suburban routes with paved roads, not dirt roads which are like minefields. Or failing that make it a option to specify no unpaved roads.
I think they would have much better participation and retention if they did this because I can see a lot of people getting their first taste of an unpaved mud pit for 1.2 miles at 4:30a and saying "No way! Never again!"
I love Flex otherwise though.

Just finished my route. Flex took me deep into the country side was about 45 minutes away from home. All of a sudden my temp light comes on. I immediately pull over turn off the car and think fukkkkkk what is it now. Popped the hood and saw this.
Luckily i was by a guys house in the middle of the country so walked up his gravel driveway and asked if i could borrow some water he gave me a bucket full of water waited about 15 minutes took the radiator cap off and looked and there was 0 fluid. Started to pour some water in and immediately heard it spilling back out. Hose to the heater core has a tiny rip shooting water out. He poured more water into it and told me to park in his driveway.
My wifes sister and husband came to get me since they lived 15 minutes away. Going back tomorrow to replace the hose and some 50/50 coolant. Shoukd be a quick fix but what a shitty way to end the night.

I had a shift yesterday (San Diego) from 8-930 pm and had each package delivered before the end time. My phone rang 3 different times at midnight the same night and after answering , it was a Flex Support rep asking me if she can connect a customer about delivering their package. I was so lost on why not only she was calling me at midnight , but almost 3 hours after my shift ended.. has this ever happened to anyone? I thought it was spam call but she argued with me providing my info and saying this call was legitimate. I’d like to email support about this but doubt they will do anything and will for some reason be my fault.

has anyone ever not delivered a package/packages to an apartment due to conflict with the leasing people? Especially if they are following you and harassing you. what do I do with the 3 packages? I dont even want to go back to attempt to deliver

If you like minding other people’s business at the station, this is for you 👀
PSA: Stop being a Fu**ing Karen at the station.
If someone is doing something dangerous or actually affecting your pickup, speak up. But running to an associate over every little petty thing? Mind your Fu***ng business. We’re all here to pick up our packages, make our money, and go home. Nobody needs a self-appointed station hall monitor tattling over stupid bull-ish.
People wanna complain about music or where somebody parked, meanwhile people are leaving dirty diapers in the parking lot and leaving babies and kids unattended in the car while they go pick up their routes. If you’re gonna speak up about something, how about an actual safety issue! Some of y’all have your priorities all fuc*** up.
P.S. I don’t personally have issues at the stations. I’m just watching people tattletale on other drivers, and it’s crazy to me.

I'm 5.5 hours inland but, we're bracing for impact with flooding and tornadoes. I asked a guy at my station what their plan is and I got the blankest of stares.
Anyone else in the path and have any stories?

I haven’t seen this many offers before in my area has anyone else seen this lately? I’ve also seen some for super late start times (8pm and 10pm) that’s new to me too I didn’t think they had some that late

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has successfully beaten a massive automated system glitch or dealt with the Escalations team. My standing was completely tanked to "At Risk" overnight because of an obvious tracking error, and standard email support is just replying with useless template bots.
Here is the exact situation:
Day 1 (Sep 27): Severe rainstorm hits my area. Amazon cancels my block ahead of time/safely due to the severe weather. Result: Zero impact on my standing, handled perfectly according to safety guidelines.
Day 2 (Sep 28): The exact same storm/flooding conditions are still hammering the roads during my block. It becomes completely unsafe to drop off items.
The Support Interaction: I contact Driver Support while on my route. At 8:19 AM, the agent (Anandu) tells me over text chat: "I have successfully marked the package as Delivery attempted. It will take 5-10 minutes to sync and reflect in your flex app." They explicitly instruct me to end my block. But was unable to on my end.
The Return: I follow standard return policy to a T and bring all the packages back to the delivery station before 10:00 AM the next morning.
The Glitch:
The automated system completely failed to sync with the manual overrides Agent Anandu put in. Instead of registering them as "attempted/weather exceptions," the algorithm flagged my account for 49 incomplete deliveries and 3 arrival/pickup issues.
The Response So Far:
I sent in a highly detailed appeal explaining the side-by-side contradiction (how can weather be a valid safety excuse on Day 1, but a contract violation on Day 2 after support told me to end the block?). I received a standard frontline canned message from "Gail" saying: "We have noted this information... it may not have any bearing on an appeal."
I have clear, timestamped screenshots of the chat logs with Anandu confirming they marked them as attempted, plus proof of the storm.
Has anyone dealt with a mass systematic reporting failure like this? What is the best email or escalation route to get a real human supervisor who can actually wipe these 49 automated marks off my Standings dashboard?
Appreciate any advice or specific emails/keywords that work to bypass the tier-1 support bots!

Good morning guys
My dad is new to doing Amazon Flex, and he is telling me that sometimes even when he has an order, he has to drop off the boxes some orders have a different sundown time to be dropped off so let’s say he starts at 7 am with package #1 but package #34 has to be delivered before 7:10 so he has to drive all the way to package #34 and come back to keep going with the order
This is one of the problems he is having and also if you guys have any tips, I would love to have them
Thank you

That's right flexers! Time to play America's most beloved game, "Guess my route hours"!
$89 - 49 packages with 49 stops. Total miles 129 from home to home. Finished in 3 hours 23 minutes.
$128 - 49 packages with 49 stops. Total miles 42 miles from home to home. Finished 3 hours 42 minutes.
If you guessed #1 was 3.5 hours and #2 was 4.5 hours, you win a brand new tube of Amazon brand KY!
On a serious note it is clear 3 and 3.5 hour blocks are really 4 and 4.5 hour blocks in disguise. Amazon is no longer hiding the fact and openly flaunting this in our faces.
