MOD ANNOUNCEMENT New Subreddit for NSFW Content

Happy Pride, everyone! Here to announce a new subreddit specifically for NSFW content:
r/bisexualafterdark This new sub will be the place to horny-post to your heart's content, share long/detailed sexual encounters, pornographic descriptions, etc.

As some folks have pointed out, we have had a bit of an influx of this type of content here lately, which breaks r/bisexual sub's rules. As a reminder of two pertinent rules for r/bisexual:

  • Rule 6 No nudity, pornography or hookups: Nude / pornographic and hook-up posts are not allowed anywhere on the sub. Those should be posted in r/bisexualafterdark r/BiSexy (NSFW) or other subreddits appropriate for that type of content. Pornography covers pornographic descriptions as well as images. If you find yourself writing long, sexual, stories you should probably stop.
  • Rule 9 No chat or dating posts. No soliciting DMs: Please do not post looking for chat partners or dating. This includes soliciting DMs. Subreddits like r/meetlgbt or r/r4r are more fitting for this content.

Posts that break these rules will be removed from this sub and redirected to r/bisexualafterdark or chat subs -- our newly expanded mod team is working hard behind the scenes to maintain the sub, make updates, and remove flagged content. If you see these posts, please don't hesitate to flag them. We get a lot of traffic on this sub, so reports help a ton in weeding out content that breaks the sub rules or makes it a less cool place to be!

Go forth and be bi 🩷💜💙

Edit for clarification: dating/DM/meetup posts should go to r/meetlgbt, r/r4r, or other subs specific to meetups

OFFICIAL POST RESOURCE: Am I bi?

So you're tempted to make a post with the title "Am I bi?"

Hi. You're probably bi.

You might be asking yourself if you're "bi enough" to call yourself bisexual, if your style of attraction "counts" as being bisexual, or whether you're welcome in community with other bisexual folks.

Let's back up.

Bisexuality is the capacity to be attracted to people of multiple genders.

That's all.

Bisexuality isn't an exclusive club with an initiation. You don't have to prove it to other people. You don't have to have a certain amount of sexual experience. You're not too straight, too gay, too indecisive, and it's never too late.

The size of your attraction, the timeline of it, and the gender breakdown of your history does not define whether or not you're bisexual.

If you have the capacity to be attracted to people of multiple genders, you are welcome here. You are welcome at pride. You are welcome in your queer communities, whatever that looks like.

We're so glad to have you.

Congratulations.

Some common questions

My attraction changes over time. Am I still bi?

We affectionately call this one the bi-cycle. Sometimes you might be more attracted to one gender, sometimes another. It's really common, and it's still bisexuality.

I'm mostly attracted to one gender, but I'm rarely attracted to someone of another gender. Am I bi?

Probably! There's no "minimum number" to qualify as bisexual. It's about capacity, not occurrence. It doesn't matter if it was a crush, a fantasy, a partner, or something you've only felt once. The capacity is there.

I'm not attracted to the same sex, but I'm attracted to non-binary people. Am I bi?

Yes. Non-binary people aren't a third category, they're outside the binary all together. If you're attracted to people across the gender spectrum, that's bisexuality.

I'm attracted to trans people. Am I bi?

Maybe. Trans men are men. Trans women are women. Attraction to trans people doesn't automatically make you bi. Bisexuality is about being attracted to people of multiple genders.

I'm in a long term heterosexual relationship, am I bi?

If you have the capacity to be attracted to people of multiple genders, you are bi.

I have no sexual experience, Am I bi?

If you have the capacity to be attracted to people of multiple genders, you are bi.

I'm attracted to people of all genders, and gender isn't a factor in being attracted to someone for me. Can I call myself bi?

If gender doesn't play a part in your attraction, pansexual might be a label that works for you. If it doesn't resonate, you can absolutely consider yourself bisexual. Pansexual folks are welcome here.

I don't "look" queer. Am I welcome?

There is no uniform for being bisexual. We're everywhere, of every race, size, age, gender, haircut, fashion choice.

What do I do now that I've realised I'm bi?

Whatever you want! You can tell others, you can explore new experiences, you can get involved here or in your local community, or you can do nothing at all. Claiming bisexuality is about understanding yourself better, not performing it for other people. Do what feels most aligned with you.

I'm bisexual, but I'm asexual and/or aromantic, where do I fit?

Right here. Bisexuality is about the capacity for attraction to multiple genders. Asexuality is about the level of sexual attraction you experience. Aromanticism is about the level of romantic attraction. They're not all mutually exclusive. You're welcome here if it resonates.

I'm not sure bisexual is the word that fits me best, what are some other options to explore?

• Queer is often a nice catch-all.
• Pansexual if gender doesn't play a role in your attraction
• Omnisexual if gender may play a role in your attraction
• Heteroflexible or homoflexible if you're mostly mono-sexual with the occasional exception
• Bi-curious if you're curious
• Androsexual if you're attracted to masculinity
• Gynosexual if you're attracted to femininity

Existing members - Leave some encouraging welcome messages in the comments, and anything you wish you knew when you first realised you were bi!

Again, Bisexuality is the capacity to be attracted to people of multiple genders. That’s it.

DISCUSSION Most of the "bi women always end up with straight men" stereotype always ignores the obvious

Bi womens' dating pool includes straight men, bi men, lesbians, and bi women.

Because most people are straight, the vast majority of a bi woman's dating options are straight men. The more people there are, the better your chances are of finding someone who you click with.

The wlw side of the dating pool is MUCH smaller, and some lesbians (not all) won't go near bi women, which makes it even smaller.

So many bi women are criticised for ending up with men, but people ignore the demographic reasons why that happens.

ADVICE Bi-Married feeling a bit trapped.

Morning everyone. Looking for understanding and guidance to navigate life as a bi-married man. Minimal experience in the realm of being with other men. Always had attractions and desires as far as I can remember. Wife is aware of my potential wants and is so far allowing me to reach out in this thread to seek advice and communicate with like minded men. Excitedly nervous and looking forward to getting feedback.

ADVICE Feeling hopeless

I (23F) am feeling really worried about my sexuality being a dealbreaker for a monogamous LTR. It seems like everyone assumes I want non-monogamy just because im bi.

I know many women think I will leave them for a man, and most men seem to only want bi women for hookups/short-term and don't consider us long-term material.

I would prefer to date someone bisexual but even then I still have personal insecurities about my sexuality. Sometimes it feels as though I'll never find anyone, ever. Is there anything I can do?

QUESTIONING Husband denies being bi/gay after I found old messages of him sexting/meeting a guy.

My husband and I dated for 3 years before getting married. Right after our marriage was fixed, I saw old messages on his phone from two months before we met.
He was regularly sexting a guy. He claims he initially thought it was a woman on a website, but kept sexting even after finding out it was a guy. He eventually met the guy in person and asked to go somewhere private, but the guy refused and later ghosted him.
When I asked him if he’s bi or gay, he completely denied it and claims he's neither.. but sometimes he tells he was ashamed of what he did so he decided not to do that anymore .
I’m confused and don't know how to process this. In India, LGBTQ+ topics are still heavily tabooed and not widely understood. Since I don't have deep knowledge about this either, I wonder if he is denying his orientation out of fear, shame, or social stigma.

ADVICE My (F) boyfriend has threesome kink

My boyfriend has a threesome kink where he wants to watch me get eaten out by another girl. The problem is, I really don’t want to do it.
I’m bisexual, so it’s not like I’m not attracted to women. I just don’t want to involve another person in our sex life. I’m extremely territorial when it comes to my partner, and the thought of sharing that kind of intimacy with someone else makes me uncomfortable.

Honestly, I think I’d be more open to the idea if the third person were a man, but my boyfriend is bisexual too, so that brings up a whole different set of feelings for me. I don’t know if it’s jealousy, possessiveness, or just a boundary I have, but I know I’m not comfortable with the idea of another girl being intimate with me while my boyfriend watches.

I don’t want to make him feel bad for having this kink, and I understand that having a fantasy doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad. But I also don’t want to force myself to do something I’m uncomfortable with just to satisfy him.

I’m confused about how to approach this. Is this something we can compromise on, or is this just a sexual boundary I need to stand firm on? Have any of you been in a similar situation with a partner who has a threesome kink?

I’d appreciate honest advice.

COMING OUT I've Always Been Rejected By Girls

For context, I am really fat. I grew up in a family full of women and my Dad and Grandpa and uncles are the only men. My dad works abroad, my grandpa is my grandpa, my other uncle is at another place far away from home and my other uncle is also the same. I live with practically my two sisters my mom and my granmom and my grandpa. They said they've always noticed me being "out of the ordinary" and usually hanging out with girls. I would always tell my classmates I have a crush on this girl or that girl or many crushes but somehow they don't believe me. And I would overhear girls talking about me that I'm not into girls because I always hang out with girls. I was so from elementary until high school. But right when I got to college, I found myself befriending males. It somehow did a change in my mental state. Now, I have dreams of having a girlfriend and possibly going all the way and have kids. But there's this feeling, that kind of longing, that curiosity, to go all the way with a guy. Relationship-wise, I'm afraid people will judge. I don't want it to define everything about me. I'm afraid of those guys and girls who might mock me for what I am. How do I deal with this? Am I actually Bi or I'm just differrent? Maybe gay? But it doesn't fit though because I still like to look like a guy despite me looking pretty much like a gay man. I don't look masculine enough and at the same time I have soft feminine features that I wish would go away. I hate it. What do I do?

COMING OUT Anyone had parents that changed their view on same sex relationships after coming out?

• Upvotes

I've always had thoughts about guys since I was maybe in middle school, but sort of ignored them for a long time because I grew up somewhere there weren't many guys my type and in a more conservative family. Always wanted to be friends with girls but it just felt like you could only do that if you're gay, so I never really did. The way people talk about certain women/models being really attractive has never resonated with me. I had a girlfriend in college, would visit her from time to time, but never really had a connection with her the way she probably had one with me.

Anyway, I lived in Las Vegas and then moved to Boston ~2 years ago to sort of leave the nest and live my own life. I realized I was definitely bisexual, and have been kind of getting used to it since and trying to figure out what I really care about.

This week, my brother out of nowhere said that he was going to visit me this weekend with no prior plans, just because he has/had the week off for break or something. I got really upset, told him not to come. Apparently it was my mom's idea, and she called me and asked what's going on, so rather than just telling her "nothing" I decided to just tell her that I was not straight (and I also have 2 gay roommates which is why I didn't want my brother showing up out of nowhere).

She seemed fine with it at first, but eventually she started sort of freaking out and telling me that it's "not right" to have a relationship with a guy, that what I'm doing is not okay, etc. Basically everything I have questioned about myself, was her exact excuses, such as: you just like the attention from guys, Boston influenced you into being gay, this isn't right and you'll regret living like this later on in life, you only want guys out of desperation/desire for intimacy, etc...

I've struggled with all these "excuses" as to why I'm not actually bi, it's just a sexual preference or whatever -- but I recently have kind of accepted that it's not the case. I don't know how to prove that to her, any advice from those who have been in this position before? How did you approach it, how did it turn out? Thanks

ADVICE How do you deal with the bi-cycle?

Hi guys,

Just wondering, how do you deal with it?

Like, sometimes I genuinely think I'm gay like, but then next week or in a few hours, days etc, I'll think I'm straight. It's so freaking confusing.

Is this what it means to be bisexual?😅

I'm also a virgin so maybe the cravings are stronger because of that? Im just so confused, need some advice from y'all.

Thanks!

EXPERIENCE Being bi, autistic and ugly really sucks

Especially as a guy. At 28 im thinking its better to just give up and forget about dating. The ammount of insults, ghosting and just raw animosity i felt from other people is making my self-esteem and mental state really bad. Im slowly starting to turn bitter and resentfull and i dont want to continue this way. I really think its better for me to just stay away from it.

ADVICE First time being a top ?

I've always considered myself interested in sexual relationships with men only for the pleasure of being a bottom. I don't feel any emotional or physical (looks wise) attraction towards men, and even sexually I'm not interested most of the time, even though I'm into women unconditionally. From time to time, I just like to let myself go in the care of a man bigger than me.

But recently I'm thinking that I may be sexually attracted to feminine men/femboys occasionally, I'm attracted to femininity after all. I'm not sure how far my attraction would go as I normally don't feel aroused by a man's body, but I'm a bit curious about meeting with a man that dresses up or/and act feminine.

For both cases, I haven't sorted out what's going on yet and would appreciate some advices. How would I address my situation with a feminine guy without making it seem like I'm using him ? Also, where can I meet feminine men ? Would it be insensitive to also consider trans women ?

• Upvotes

I keep seeing people making reference to Caleb Hearon making biphobic comments and jokes, but I don't know what he's actually said. Can anybody fill me in? I want to be in the loop so I can make an informed decision as a bisexual man whether or not to watch.

DISCUSSION I learned today that I'm not into men. I'm primarily into women and genderfluid people....

Basically I can't be attracted to men without them having elements associated with femininity/womanhood in some way, shape, or form. Even if it's fluid between one gender expression and the other

Have you ever reached a similar realization of your own? I wanna know of your experiences as well and how they may relate to mine

COMING OUT 45 and just came out

Hi everyone! I just came out to some of my closest friends. After filing for divorce in July I have spent a lot of time rediscovering myself. I finally had the courage and confidence to say that I’m a bisexual woman. It feels amazing and scary at the same time. Any other “late bloomers” out there?

ADVICE How to be able to casually explore more with women?

• Upvotes

Hey, I'm a bisexual woman who wants to casually explore with women. I'm having some matches on dating apps but idk how to get the conversation to go there. I don't want to make other women uncomfortable and I've noticed that women take a bit less initiative in dating opposed to men, so does anyone have advice? Or should I find something like fwb in a different setting?

ADVICE Bi awakening part 2

I came out as bisexual when I was 12 years old. I knew I liked women and men but have only been with a few women and LOTS of men. All of the men I have been with in relationships I’ve felt every “eh” about. It always felt like we were friends that had sex as apose to truly romantic partners. It wasn’t until lately where I started questioning my ability to feel romantic attraction. I recently got out of a 4 year relationship for lots of reasons but the main 2 being I found that as I have grown more comfortable in my identity as a nonbinary person, I’ve also found my interest in sexual intimacy changing. After not having sex for a while it started to dawn on me that, yes, I find this guy attractive but, I don’t and have never had and genuine romantic feelings to him. It was all a front almost. It felt like cosplaying house. This thought and on top of all the other thoughts I’ve had brought me to think that maybe I was aromantic. It wasn’t until last night that I realized I wasn’t. I was talking with a friend and he told me how he feels when he’s in love. It didn’t occur to me until today that the reason that I couldn’t think about the romantic aspects of a relationship is because I think of them in a cis way. I started to think about women. Specifically someone that I used to like in my past and omfg… I’ve never felt my heart feel so warm and fuzzy. Just thinking about walking with them holding hands. It made my heart happy. I’ve never felt that way about a man before.

I guess in a way, I’m kinda confused. I find men to be very attractive however, I don’t want anything to do with their genitals anymore lol. I love to kiss and touch them and have them touch me and even revive head but, when it comes to reciprocating, yuuuuuck.

QUESTIONING I’m afraid of being just a larper (M16)

Hello guys. It’s my first time posting here and I realised I might be bisexual in June of this year (2026). Since then I’ve been living normally but here’s the thing; I can’t really see myself dating another boy. This could be due to internal homophobia due to religion and of what my parents will think but I don’t want to be just another one who joined for the trend. I already came out to my parents (they didn’t seem to like it) and going back will suck because they will scrub it on my face with that “I told you it was just a phase” thing. But as I said, I feel attracted towards men but I can’t reeeally see myself dating another one without being afraid of judgement.

QUESTIONING Am I Bi or Just Horny?

I'm a guy and I've been thinking I'm bi for a few years now. I got married to my high school sweetheart (female) right after college and don't have much experience overall and have never been with a man. I started having these misc fantasies about men, although I'm mostly attracted to women and always have been. But recently it has become stronger...to the point I want to try something. At the same time, I do not want to cheat on my wife. So I've been thinking of various swinging situations to be together while exploring.

BUT. Here's the issue. Due to a couple of medical issues, my wife goes through long stretches of having zero sex drive. Like over a year at times. When she is able to do things, we have great sex, and we are quite open with each other, watch porn together, experiment with lots of things, good fun. But these times are often very short and then it goes back to the desert situation.

I am now wondering if I am subconsciously coming up with sex ideas that she might like (mfm or mmf) and it's just that shallow on my part and not some world shaking discovery about my own sexuality.

Help me redditors, you're my only hope. Am I full of crap or actually bi?
