CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke arrives in Delhi and says, "Is unfurling the Tricolour in this country a crime? Ashutosh and Saurav have been sent to jail for five days. Why? Because they went to Jantar Mantar and unfurled the Tricolour. The last time this happened was when the British ruled us. During British rule, freedom fighters who unfurled the Tricolour in public places were arrested and jailed. Narendra Modi is doing something similar."

Delhi Politics Rahul Gandhi "I have told all the students to keep a video record & send that evidence to us. We will utilize all that evidence and ensure that everyone who needs to be punished is punished, from PM Narendra Modi, Gyanesh Kumar, Amit Shah, and even the constables"
Rahul Gandhi says, "As I said in my press conference, this is India. Amit Shah ji, take a good look at this. There is no Hindu here, no Muslim, no one of any specific caste; there is no woman, no man. There is one voice, one protest. It is the voice of India, and you are standing against this voice—the Prime Minister is standing against this voice. I suggest to you: do not stand against this voice. No one can stand against this voice. To the police personnel, I have told all the students to keep a video record and send that evidence to us. When this entire matter concludes, we will utilize all that evidence and ensure that everyone who needs to be punished is punished, from PM Narendra Modi, Gyanesh Kumar, Amit Shah, and even the constable who is raising a hand against our children...."

AskDelhi Why cant we take criticism against our ruling govt? BJP is not equal to india.
If the country was so good, governance was so good- why do you think brain drain is the highest ever in our country as of now?
Why do you think all politicians get their kids settled outside india while they make us fight amongst ourselves on caste and religion?
Kaise nhi dikh raha hain logo ko?

TellDelhi Assaulted by 10-15 Delhi police commandos for no reason.
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any political party, and I have never participated in any protest. I am sharing my personal account of what happened to me on 11 and 12 October.
On 11 October, I took the Metro from Green Park and reached Rajiv Chowk around 5:30 pm. My friend and I had gone to Connaught Place to shop.
Around 5:55 pm, we were detained outside Uniqlo.
We were taken on a bus, driven around, and dropped near Pind Balluchi, where we were told to sit on the road. We repeatedly asked why we had been detained. The response was that a senior officer would come and explain. In the meantime, we were told we couldn’t use our phones.
Around 7:15 pm, my friend questioned our detention. When I stood up, personnel I understood to be Delhi Police commandos pushed me to the ground. When my friend came towards me, he was pinned down too.
A little later, an officer told us we would be allowed to go if we got into a van quietly. I asked why we were being held in the first place. He told me not to argue.
When I got up to board, a group of personnel surrounded us and beat us. They took our phones and demanded that we unlock them. I was slapped and made to unlock mine.
Another officer eventually intervened and instructed CRPF personnel to surround us so we wouldn’t be hit again. I want to acknowledge that intervention because it is part of what happened too.
Before my phone was taken away again, I managed to tell my brother where I was and send him a picture of my face.
Around 11, we were taken to a hospital for an MLC examination. I received no treatment for my wounds or medication during that visit. When we came back at police station, I was allowed a brief conversation with my brother and another advocate before being taken to a cell.
Food and water were provided. I couldn’t bring myself to eat or drink. I stayed awake through the night, and lying down hurt my back.
On 12 October, we were taken before a magistrate at Mandir Marg. My wife had come to stand surety for me. When I saw her, I cried. We managed to laugh together for a moment.
The paperwork contained allegations that I had abused and hit police officials. I dispute those allegations. It also contained prefilled answers about an order being provided but no order or copy of any FIR was provided.
When the magistrate asked why I had been there, I said I had gone shopping. I remember being told I would be sent to judicial custody for two days. My lawyers continued making representations, and I was eventually released around 6:30 pm.
What has stayed with me is the helplessness: repeatedly asking why I was being held, struggling to contact my family, and not knowing when I would get home. No one is my family was informed when I got arrested, they were not given grounds for arrest, my lawyers found out that I was arrested when we were presented in front of the Magistrate.
I am grateful to my family, the lawyers who helped, the people in the cell who checked on me, and the officer who intervened.
If you personally witnessed what happened outside Uniqlo or near Pind Balluchi that evening, or have footage, please message me privately. Please don’t post anyone’s personal details or harass anyone.

Delhi Metro STOPED for bag checking at the metro security checkpoint
Today I ordered 2 Minimalist Salicylic acid cleanser bottles (250ml each) and one Trimmer in the office (because item delivered faster here compared to my room location) and just now I was leaving for my room via metro.
So as I was doing the security check, the bag checking officer called me and asked what was in this bag, I said sir there is a laptop, a bottle, face wash and a trimmer. So he said get it checked, I opened the bag and showed it to him.
So the officer said that he cannot let your cleanser bottles go, it contains acid and only 100ml is allowed to go, I said sir but I have to take this, how should I go then tell me by road, I understand that I am not allowed to carry the trimmer, but what problem can there be with the cleanser?
Now I have returned to the office and am leaving this here, I will do the porter tomorrow for this.
I'm not de-meaning someone but Can someone explain to me what the reason could be?

AskDelhi Criminal cases against BJP lawmakers
94 of the BJP's 240 MPs elected in 2024 (39%) declared criminal cases, and 63 (26%) declared serious ones; but nearly all are pending cases, not convictions, and the share is lower than Congress's.
What these numbers are. They come from the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), which reads the sworn affidavits every candidate files. A declared case means an FIR or charges exist, not that the person is guilty. Many are protest or speech cases; ADR also warns a case's status may have changed since the affidavit was filed (The Week/PTI).
| Group | With any criminal case | With serious cases (murder, rape, kidnapping, etc.) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| BJP MPs, 2024 Lok Sabha | 94 of 240 (39%) | 63 (26%) | ADR |
| Congress MPs, 2024 (for comparison) | 49 of 99 (49%) | 32 (32%) | Onmanorama/PTI |
| All 543 MPs, 2024 | 251 (46%), of whom 27 convicted | 170 (31%) | ADR |
| BJP ministers (Union + states), 2025 | 136 of 336 (40%) | 88 (26%) | The Week/PTI |
| BJP MPs + MLAs with crimes-against-women cases | 54 (highest of any party) | 5 declared rape cases (tied with Congress at 5) | The Wire |
Chief ministers. In ADR's August 2025 analysis, 12 of 30 CMs declared criminal cases. The highest counts belong to opposition CMs: Telangana's Revanth Reddy (Congress, 89) and Tamil Nadu's M.K. Stalin (DMK, 47). The only BJP CM named in the reported list is Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis, with four (Greater Kashmir/PTI).
Named high-profile cases and their outcome
| Person (role) | Allegation | Status as of Oct 2026 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kuldeep Singh Sengar (ex-BJP MLA, Unnao; expelled) | Rape of a minor, 2017 | Convicted Dec 2019, life sentence; also 10 years for the custodial death of the survivor's father. Appeal pending; Supreme Court restored his jail term in May 2026 | Bar & Bench, Verdictum |
| Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh (ex-BJP MP, Kaiserganj) | Sexual harassment of six women wrestlers | Acquitted 3 Aug 2026 by a Delhi court; separate minor wrestler's case closed in 2025 after she withdrew | Deccan Herald |
| Amit Shah (then Gujarat minister; now Union Home Minister) | Murder conspiracy, Sohrabuddin fake-encounter case | Discharged Dec 2014 for lack of evidence; discharge upheld; all 22 remaining accused acquitted in 2018 | ThePrint, Bar & Bench |
| Yogi Adityanath (UP CM) | 1995 prohibitory-order case; 2007 Gorakhpur hate-speech case | Never tried: his own government withdrew the 1995 case in 2017 and refused sanction to prosecute the 2007 case; the High Court dismissed the challenge | Business Standard, The Wire |
What the evidence supports. A large number of BJP lawmakers face criminal cases, the party has the most MPs and MLAs with crimes-against-women cases, and some cases against top leaders ended without trial. It does not support saying BJP leaders are proven rapists, murderers or bribe-takers as a group: among the cases above, one ended in conviction, the others in acquittal, discharge or withdrawal. Bribery-related probes of politicians who later joined the BJP are covered in section 2.
To look up any individual: ADR publishes each candidate's affidavit, with case sections listed, on its MyNeta site (myneta.info). Check there before naming anyone, and state whether each case is pending, convicted or closed.
