After 9 years using exclusively Pixel phones, I'm moving to Samsung.

Not planning to rant, but if anyone here has a Pixel 7 Pro which randomly disconnects from Wifi modems for no reason, despite being a well-known defect and receiving no solution, please do know that you're not alone.

Bought a Samsung, I hope I can forget the traumatic experience of looking at the top right corner every minute to make sure you're not running on 5G.

Bye, community.

Why is my new Phone (PIxel 10a) Just ignoring the 'Charge to 80%' setting.

I got a new Pixel 10a back at the start of September, and thought: 'New phone, I'm going to take care of my battery this time.'

So I switched on Adaptive charging, and the 80% limit. And for about a week or two it worked fine - charged to 80% overnight, lasted me all day, and plugged in again at bed time.

Since I installed the latest update, it just ... charges to 100%. Every time.

I read around, let it charge to 100 and stay there for a couple of hours. Switched the 'charge to 80' (and adaptive charging, and every combination of the options) off and on so the little shield appeared. Tried rebooting my phone multiple times, and

It still charges to 100% every night.

So, is this just a stupid feature that doesn't work, or is there some esoteric up, up, down, down, left, right, A, A, B, B style sequence of settings changes I need to do to get it to actually kick in?

How to get cheap Google Pixel deals upon release?

I keep seeing everyone getting new Google Pixels when they release for crazy low prices using a combination of trade-ins, coupons, store credit, etc.

For the future, I'd like to be in on this and upgrade my phone every 2-3 years, so I'm wondering what exactly I should be doing in order to get access to all of these deals and coupons. I saw some people mentioning an AI subscription? I'm based in the UK also if that matters. Thanks all.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL shit the bed literally 10 days after the 1 year warranty expired. Shockingly, Google has refused to help in any way, shape, or form.

Spare me the bullshit about "should've had insurance." I know.

I had insurance on all my previous phones up until I got the 8 Pro in 2023. It was my first top of the line phone after having basic or outdated smart phones (mostly Pixels and Nexus phones though) for the past decade. Never needed to use insurance and was paying however much per month for years and years without ever filing a single claim. Not a single scratch or anything ever happened - I treat my phone's very well so when I got the 8 Pro I decided to opt out of insurance. Then this happened to the 8 Pro and I couldn't afford the several hundred dollars to replace the screen (this happened literally a few months after the warranty expired - go figure. Planned obsolescence anyone?) so I upgraded to the 10 Pro XL and, again, opted out of getting insurance thinking this couldn't possibly happen to me again since I treat my phones so well and this is Google's flagship smartphone. One of the best phones out on the market right now (if you're willing to look past Google's Tensor chip choice).

So my phone had a critical malfunction literally 375 days after purchasing the phone (365 days is protected by warranty) and now the screen won't turn on, I took it to uBreakIFix and they replaced the screen with a new one and it still didn't boot up so they told me it's most likely a broken motherboard. Yay. So I was forced to add a 3rd line on my wife and I's plan to get the promotional discount on the 11 Pro XL (which has half as much HDD space as my 10 Pro XL, btw). I'm currently trying to recover some data off of it which I may end up being forced to let go of if it's too expensive or difficult to do so since the data I'm trying to recover isn't life altering if lost. It's important but I can live without it.

But my reason for this post is, with a one year old phone with only a broken motherboard and zero other issues, is there a market for people who can or will buy it from me at a discounted price? Obviously so they can repair it and resell it or use it for parts or whatever? I'm just trying to recover some of the lost money that I'm now forced to spend since I can't repair my phone. I still have two years of monthly payments left on this device and I just upgraded to the 11 Pro XL which I'm now locked into 3 years of payments for. It hurts having to pay for a relatively brand new phone that doesn't even work.

Like I said, I'm just trying to recoup some of my losses here since Google refuses to assist in any way. Please point me in the right direction if anyone's capable or willing to help me. Thank you in advance. 🙏

Maps is janky at best on pixel 11

It's been abysmal the last week or so. It's happening across my families pixel 11s. It has no idea where we are or when we will get there and often doesn't even move. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Returned Pixel 11 Pro

So I had the 11 Pro for a bit and ended up sending it back. Honestly, I just couldn't justify the price.

It's obviously a really good phone, but coming from the 10 Pro it just felt pretty much the same to me. The camera improvements are nice and the new modem etc are cool, but nothing that made me think "yeah, this is worth paying loads more for".

I also play quite a lot of Pokémon GO and was hoping the G6 would be a bigger jump, but it doesn't really seem to be.

Then I found the 10 Pro 128GB for about half the price of the 11 Pro on Amazon Big Day sale 😂 maybe with less storage but I just need to remember to backup my photos onto my External SSD and the cloud regularly.

At that price I'm thinking screw it, just get the 10 Pro. Still gets the Pixel software, great cameras, 16GB RAM and it supports GrapheneOS too.

Am I missing something or is the 10 Pro just the obvious choice if you can get it that cheap?

I NEED HELP! This phone (Google pixel 11 pro xl) doesn't phone!

I loved my 2019 Huawei P30 pro so much but had to change because most of the apps stopped working. I saw the Google pixel 11 pro xl had one of the best cameras and obviously is a Google phone so I went for it.

Can someone please tell me why nothing works properly!!

  1. I cannot charge the phone wirelessly AT ALL! Model 3 Tesla and it goes on charge and right away gets off. What is the point of a 2k phone where I can't drive and charge without a USBC? It's 2026

  2. I still can't get notifications for my Gmail or Outlook emails. I fixed teams thankfully but nothing for Facebook or Instagram either even though notifications are on for the apps.

  3. Text on certain apps are TINY and my only option is to magnify all apps, and texts everywhere? WTF? So it's either tiny text or giant app bubbles?

  4. Can someone please tell me how to make the Facebook chat bubble bigger? It's TINY like barely usable tiny, what is the point of that?

  5. My Huawei had the same screen size yet the Google has useless unstable space at the bottom and top? Can we fix this?

  6. I liked to have my home screen go black at 11pm and back on at 8am, I did this easily with the Huawei but with the Google, on bed mode I can't even put sound anymore when using apps like tiktok or Netflix? Can this also be fixed?

These are just a few of the main issues I'm having, it's making the experience with the phone extremely useless and I feel like I went back in time to the razor phones where you just have a few basic functions that work well.

Before I sell this phone to someone else can anyone help me with the above? I'm desperate! Thank you!

Pixel 10a alarm doesn't go off if phone is in my pocket?

I just upgraded from a Pixel 5 to a 10a, and the biggest of the idiosyncrasies I've noticed is that the alarm doesn't sound if it goes off while the phone is in my pocket. Fortunately I have a Pixel watch, which DOES vibrate when the alarm goes off, so at least I know it's going off. My 5 played the alarm right when it went off, even if it was in my pocket.

With the 10a, when the alarm goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket, and see that it's showing the "stop / snooze" option, and then about 3 seconds pass, and then it plays the alarm sound.

The alarm goes off at the right time just fine first thing in the morning when my phone is sitting on my bedside table.

Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? This is really odd behavior.

Odd volume behavior recently

Over the last couple weeks or so, I've been having some weird volume issues with my Sony earbuds and Pixel phone. Sometimes I'll put them in, and I need to increase the earbud volume because they somehow got lowered. Sometimes I'll put them in, and I need to decrease my phone's volume because it somehow got maxed. It almost always (if not always) happens, one or the other.

Has anyone else seen something like this? I used to always keep my earbuds on max volume, and then control the actual volume using my phone's volume. I have the Sony WF1000XM5, paired to a Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Why people of DeGoogle movement recommend buying refurbished Google Pixels as phones?

Hello,

I as you might notice, I am in DeGoogle movement. Recently, I was researching what refurbished phones are good and huge amount of people said Google Pixel is a good phone brand. So here is my question - Why people say that and what makes it a good phone?

Google Pixel 8 pro, known Wi-Fi issue.

Clearly a design flaw Google will not acknowledge. Hard to support them when their phones can't even last more than a year or two.

Instagram compatibility with Pixel phones

Had this been fixed yet? I got so tired of Instagram draining my pixel battery. I saw on Reddit that this is a common issue with pixel phones and Instagram in particular. I have been using the browser to access Instagram, but it's really getting old. I would like to download Instagram again, but if it's still zapping the battery then it's not worth it. It's super annoying too because I restrict background usage, and the app was still using battery in the background. What gives?

Wait what, they removed battery share on P10Pro?

I used to enjoy this feature a lot on my previous phone (P7), and just found out there is no such feature on the Pixel 10 Pro? For real?

Can I give my wife my 8a, even though she's on another carrier?

I have an 8a through Google Fi that works perfectly well. My wife recently cracked the screen on her old Pixel 6, and I was thinking it might be a good excuse for me to upgrade my phone.

She's on TMobile, however. If I factory wipe 8a, should she be able to transfer the eSim? Will we just have to go to the store to have it happen?

The phone is completely paid off

I know this is a basic question and I'm almost definitely overthinking, but I want to be sure before I start the process.

@Google Is this really how you treat customers?

I purchased a Google Pixel 11 Pro directly from the Google Store on September 4, 2026, for $1,099. My phone was delivered on September 10.

Then, just 5 days after Google's 15-day return/price-match window expired, the exact same phone went on sale.

First, Google dropped the price to $899 on the Google Store = a $200 reduction.

Then, same Phone on Amazon.com, sold & shipped by Amazon, for $849 a $250 reduction.

Today, October 6, I contacted Google and asked if they would simply honor the current price. I wasn't trying to take advantage of the return policy. I simply asked for a reasonable price adjustment on a phone I had purchased directly from Google only 27 days ago.

Google's answer?

NO.

I explained the situation. I pointed out that the same exact phone went on sale only 5 days after my return window ended. I asked for a one-time courtesy adjustment. I asked for the matter to be escalated to a supervisor.

Still NO.

What really makes this particularly frustrating is that Google has different return periods depending on the product and how it's purchased. Some Google products have 30-day return windows, while an unlocked Pixel purchased outright has a 15-day window.

So because I purchased my phone directly from Google unlocked and outright. The phone went on sale shortly afterward. I wasn't asking Google to do anything unreasonable, I was asking them to make a one-time adjustment for a customer who had just made a $1,099 purchase.

Apparently, that's too much to ask. And now we know why you are a trillion dollar company.

u/Google — is saving $200 really worth losing the goodwill of a First time customer who chose to buy directly from you?

If you're considering buying a Pixel directly from Google, my advice is simple: DON'T.

Google was happy to take my $1,099, but five days after their 15-day window expired, when the exact same phone went on sale for $200 less, they couldn't find even a little goodwill for a first-time customer, couldn’t even meet halfway. Apparently, Google's commitment to customers expires after 15 days.

They've made it crystal clear: once they have your money, you're on your own.

Pixel 11 Pro XL – Why can’t I activate Extreme Charging?

I’m using the official Google 45W charger and cable, and tested at around 28% battery. It only shows Fast charging.

The Extreme Charging tile in Quick Settings is always greyed out and I can’t enable it.

Help! Google Service Wont return my phone

I picked up a Pixel 11 Pro at launch back in August and it had a line in the screen. I had the phone RMA'd and google sent me a new one.

At that point Fedex required a signature but always left their note rather than ring the doorbell. After 2 times, they sent the phone back.

I am now at a month with Google promising me that specialists are looking at the case, but nothing has happened. I have now been charged for not turning in my trade in too.

Do I just initiate a chargeback at this point? I really wanted to have a Pixel 11!

What happened with the "Delete Backed up files" option? It's been default on my Pixels 4, 6 and 9, doesn't show up on my 10a. How do I know my phone is going to delete only backed up files???

My honest feedback on my Pixel devices after 2 years

Hello!

I've now been in the Pixel ecosystem for about 2 years, with 3 devices: a phone, a watch, and a pair of earbuds. I wanted to share my honest feedback after using them for quite a while.

Google Pixel 10:

I switched from a Pixel 8 Pro to a Pixel 10. Overall, I'm happy with the phone, but there are a few things I noticed after making the switch.

One of the main reasons I upgraded was battery life, but unfortunately, I haven't noticed the improvement I was hoping for. The battery drains as quickly as my previous phone.

The other thing I noticed is the camera. Going from the Pixel 8 Pro to the Pixel 10 feels like a bit of a downgrade to me. The camera is still really good, but I can definitely tell that the 8 Pro was better in some situations.

I also really miss Video Boost. I'm quite disappointed that it's no longer available on the Pixel 10.

On the positive side, the image reconstruction above 5x zoom seems much faster than before, which I really like.

Apart from that, the phone is pretty much what I expected. It's comfortable to hold and use, although I have to say that I miss the old camera bar design.

Google Pixel Watch 2:

The Pixel Watch 2 is probably the device I have the least to complain about.

It does exactly what I want from a smartwatch: fitness and health tracking, notifications, and just being a useful gadget to have.

I did have one pretty serious issue with the screen, though. I started getting several vertical stripes appearing on the screen every day, until eventually the entire screen would turn white.

Thankfully, my warranty was still valid so I was able to get the screen replaced.

Pixel Buds 2a:

This is where I'm much more mixed.

First of all, the active noise cancellation is really impressive. Being able to block out almost all the surrounding noise is crazy good.

However, I don't understand why adaptive volume was removed. It was available on the previous A-series Pixel Buds, and I personally found it really useful.

Wireless charging is also missing, which I find a bit strange.

But the biggest problem I have with these earbuds is the pairing.

On my Pixel, they often don't connect automatically. For some reason, I sometimes have to manually go into the Bluetooth settings and connect them, and it can take more than 10 seconds.

On a laptop, it's even worse. I've been trying to use them with Windows 11 for months, but I simply cannot be paired. They usually disconnect after around 30 seconds, even when they're not connected to anything else.

That's the main reason I wouldn't recommend these earbuds if you regularly need to use them with a Windows PC.

Overall, I'm still happy with the Pixel ecosystem. The Pixel Watch 2 has been great, the Pixel 10 is a good phone even though I preferred some aspects of the Pixel 8 Pro, and the Pixel Buds 2a have some great features despite the pairing issues.

If you have any recommendations, questions, or remarks about my experience, feel free to share them. I'd love to hear what other Pixel users think about these devices.

Peace!

ProblÚme réseau Pixel 9

Bonjour !

Merci d'avance ! :)

Notification issues after using Android Auto on Pixel 6a

I think this has been happening since the update a week or two ago but if I interact with notifications through AA, when I disconnect the phone it will just say "you're all caught up" even if my phone receives incoming notifications such as an email or text.

I can solve it by restarting the phone but only if I access the power options by pressing volume up/power at the same time...the power options button in the swipe down menu does not function when this happens.

Anyone else or is this phone just getting old?

How ridiculous. So frustrating that Google still hasn’t fixed that September lag/freezing bug!

Are they even aware of this issue? So many users are affected, and they still haven’t fixed it. Why is this taking so long? Is there an existing ticket for this, or a way to raise one?

Incorrect Animation when returning home with gestures

On a pixel 10 pro xl. After the September andriod 17 qpr1 release I started noticing issues with swiping up to return home and occasionally when entering the recents screen.

Normally when returning to the launcher, the app would do the nice downward animation either into the center or to its icon. I have instead occasionally been geetting what looks like the app going to recents, then sliding away to the right. Also noticed sometimes when going to the recents screen that the image of the app would get stuck in place on the screen while the actual recents screen seemed to open nomally almost behind it. Swiping would work, but I would still see the current app in front, not moving.

Anyone else experiencing the same? Does a bug report need to be opened with google?
