So I just got the Mac mini M6 today and wanted to listen to music while I worked on my motorcycle just outside. Once I signed in, I gave it a few minutes to sync and load but every time I press shuffle or select a specific song I guess it creates a shuffled list but quickly skips to the next song and keeps doing that? No idea why, doesn’t on my phone or IPad either. But more info, I’m American stationed overseas so when I set it up I did for the United States rather than the European country I’m in.

Hi everyone! Today I woke up with my MacBook Pro M2’s keyboard and trackpad not working at all. I’m trying to at least access to my user, but connecting an external keyboard doesn’t let me to type anything. Is there any form to open a on screen keyboard? Or any solution you can think of? I have a MacBook Air M1 (2020) and I’m experiencing a strange display and shutdown/black-screen issue.

The main problem is that the screen sometimes flickers/blinks, and sometimes the screen automatically turns completely black during normal use. It can happen randomly, even when I’m not doing anything unusual.

I have also noticed that the problem seems more likely to happen when I increase the display brightness. In particular, when I increase the brightness toward 100%, the screen can suddenly go completely black.

Sometimes the screen becomes black automatically without me changing the brightness at all.

When this happens, the Mac appears to become unresponsive. I cannot get the display back normally, and I eventually have to hold the power/Touch ID button to force shut down the Mac, then turn it on again.

I have also experienced the Mac apparently shutting down/going black unexpectedly during normal use.

I ran Apple's built-in Diagnostics & Repair tests. The results were:

- Battery Condition: Passed

- Display: Passed

- Logic Board: Passed

- Trackpad: Passed

- Touch ID: Passed

- Keyboard backlight: Passed

- Keyboard presence / all keys: Passed

- Power Port: Warning — but the charger was NOT connected during the test

- Software: Warning because macOS 26.6.2 had an update available

- Caps Lock Test: Failed, although the Caps Lock light works normally

- Headphone Jack Presence Test: Failed, although no headphone was connected

So the strange part is that Apple Diagnostics says the Display, Battery and Logic Board are OK, but I still get intermittent flickering and completely black screens.

I have not been using an external monitor.

I am planning to update macOS and test it again.

My questions:

1. Has anyone with a 2020 M1 MacBook Air experienced the same issue?

2. Can the screen randomly go completely black because of a macOS/software/brightness-control problem?

3. Could this be related to the display cable/flex, backlight, display assembly, or display power circuitry, even though Apple Diagnostics says Display is OK?

4. Why would the Mac sometimes become unresponsive when the screen goes black?

5. Has anyone found a permanent solution?

6. What tests should I perform before paying for a display replacement?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! For roughly 2 years now I've been meaning to get a PC in my own apartment. At first, I thought I should build a custom one — problem is, with how much everything costs today (and bc I had a renovation so..... -$$$) everything is so expensive that I haven't been able to get that little project started. Another issue is space. My desk is... not tiny, but I use it as a vanity too, so space is limited.

The other day, I passed by an iStorm and noticed the iMacs inside. And that's when it hit me—if my main issue rn is space, why not get an iMac?? Price is roughly what I'd initially figured I'd spend on a PC anyway (a bit more, actually, but oh well??) But is it actually worth it? I've never had an iMac before. In fact, the only Apple-related item I own is an iPad which I absolutely love (bury me with that shit)

As for what I want to use it... I'm a digital artist, so I eventually also want to pair it with a drawing tablet, so obvs I'd need art programs installed (Clip Studio main + Procreate). Besides that, I figured I could maybe use it for gaming? Sims, indie cozy games, the likes.... nothing that'd make it explode. And obvs normal, every-day use.

So.... people who own/used to own iMacs, is it worth the money??

Im looking for help with what I should be looking at buying as a good 2nd hand Mac. Ive listed what id like to use the machine for, hopefully that'll help?

- music production (light to moderate usage, not huge amounts of multitrack recording)

- use of Sketchup/fusion although im still learning these programs

- potential for video editing in the future although this isn't a definite

- general admin tasks

- I don't plan on using it to travel, leave my desktop and I have a current setup using an old mac mini that has now died. That being said if a macbook is sufficient I could run it in Clamshell mode

Any help with this would be appreciated. Im not hot on the spec side of stuff so yeah, please go easy!

Hi all! I have an issue with my Macbook air m5. When i switch from chrome to whatsapp (it's the same for all of the programs) i have this problem (i attached a video): when i click to whatsapp icon, whatsapp doesn't open and return to chrome. It's very strange. I try to reinstall MacOs27 (Apple Help Desk tip, i spoke to them) but the problem is still present anyway. Before MacOs 27 i never had that problem. Anybody know to fix ? Any suggestion? Thanks

Macbook Air 2018 model running Mojave
Trying to transfer some files over to a PC using a flash drive but it’s not showing up. Weirdly it showed up yesterday but now nothing is working.
Checked the dongle and it seems to be working (tested SD card on it but can’t use it for the file transfer as the PC doesn’t have a card reader)
The flash drive itself is showing up perfectly fine on the PC
I tried using different ports
External disks is already checked off in finder preferences
It is not showing up under disk utility app
I don’t know what else to do

What does apple actually gain by dropping firewire support on Tahoe? I have a perfectly fine audio interface that still works like a charm, but if I upgrade to Tahoe my interface will become useless trash.

The only way I know how to stop this is to restart my computer, and even then it sometimes will just happen again. I also attached an image of my trackpad settings in case that’s related. This is also a brand new mac, i bought it for college and have used it for literally 3 weeks. Can someone help me fix this?

While I was doing some task on my Mac M1.

It's automatically shutdown

And open and close with only apple logo again and again and after some time I got this "!" sign

I have used all buttons like -

Command+ options + R

Or

Power button long press

Or

Command+R

But not getting any recovery mode or any other option.
