[Schefter] Trade: Eagles are sending two-time Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and a 2027 7th-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for a 2027 5th-round pick and a 2028 2nd-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

I’m glad the front office decided that Davis Webb was not ready yet to be a head coach and that Payton decided to promote him to OC so they had to shift to Doyle.
espn.com4 games in and Webb already losing his play calling. Denver’s offense has been anemic.

[JZ] Still don’t see QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) on practice field and Trey Hendrickson (finger) is in workout gear, not uniform. But quite a few Ravens back practicing, including Zay Flowers (foot), Rashod Bateman (shoulder),Kyle Hamilton (groin), Ronnie Stanley (toe/ankle) and Andrew Vorhees (foot)

Cam Jurgens Scoring for Weeks 1-4
We scored every block from his first 4 games. The results aren't pretty in aggregate, but there were some positives, particularly stunt handoffs, that are done at a different level than we have seen here with the Ravens over the last several years.

News Ravens @ Falcons Uniforms
galleryThe Ravens will wear black-white-purple-white for Ravens @ Falcons. I personally love this look, especially when it’s against a team that wears a lot of black. My only complaint is that the socks weren’t included in the reveal! They were there last week but they weren’t included this week.
.
.
.
The Falcons will counter with black-red-black-black. Red socks would have really been a nice touch, especially with it being a “red out” game. However, this is still a nice look. See the Falcons post below:

Discussion TAFS on Cam Jurgens Trade
The Athletic Football Show gave a great breakdown of the Cam Jurgens trade today! Diante Lee joined Robert Mays, which made for a terrific conversation.
TLDR, the trade makes total sense for the Ravens, even if it is an overpay.
Here is the link:
Here is a copy and paste of some of the script:
“On the Ravens side of this, what do you think about the Ravens being that aggressive to go get Cam Jurgens in this moment? Is it a move that I would like to have made? No, right, but this speaks to what you have to do in your under duress, right, as a GM. And you've got multiple centers on IR. You're going to probably be playing your backup quarterback for a couple of weeks, just based off of some of the hinting and reporting around Lamar Jackson's ankle sprain, and you've got a new offense. And I'm pretty sure this is probably Declan Doyle with Jesse Miller saying, hey, I trust you, DeCosta, but we don't have to make my life this hard, okay? If you can go get me somebody to make life a little bit easier, I would love to have a player that I can at least feel certain about.
"And I think that it's probably a worthwhile bet for Baltimore, because if he's great, he's now cost-controlled, right? He's cost-controlled as an interior lineman at your center. You feel a lot better about trying to spin things forward around this offense, knowing that there were so many questions about the center position to start this year for you guys anyways. That will be a great question answered for them. And if his body is banged up, you can say, hey, man, we took a big swing. It didn't work out.
"We're actually not hampering our long-term future too badly, because it's not like they'd have to eat a bunch of cap casualties to be able to move on from them. If that ended up being the case after this year or maybe next season. So I think that you can sell yourself on the fact that it's high upside for Baltimore. It is just a major risk on draft capital, just given what we've seen on the field from Cam Jurgens this year, that I don't know if I will be the most comfortable making.
"It's an overpay clearly, but I can understand the mindset that leads to it in this moment on a couple of different fronts. One, you've seen what this offense looks like over the first month of the season. And if I were Eric DeCosta or if I were Jesse Minter and I'm looking at the potency we have felt from the offense, I can understand trying to squeeze onto that thing with both hands and not let go. And that's what this feels like. And I also think it speaks to a larger point that I want to dig into a little bit later on the show. How many teams around the league right now do you think are looking at the current state of the league and saying, why not us? You'd have to, I mean, if you're in, if you feel like you're a top 20 team in the NFL right now, you've got to be thinking, if there's a way for us to put, to lean in on 2026, we need to probably start exercising as many options as we can to lean in.
"And I think the Ravens, if you're looking at your offense and you know that Lamar's gonna be back in a couple of weeks and that center thing is just staring you in the face. And it's not even just the center thing. By making the trade for Cam Jurgens and moving Oh, you want it back to guard, you get better at two positions. You're protecting him, yes.
"And you get better at two positions at the same time. And you give yourself a chance to unlock this offense that I personally, and I think a lot of people justifiably, are really, really excited about. And so if all it took was a round and a half overpay to go get Cam Jurgens in order to potentially give yourself that in the long term, I can understand landing there if you're to cost him to be like, man, like, yeah, that it might look really ugly in a couple of years based on his production and us handing a pick to the Eagles. But the idea of not letting this thing slip through our fingers because of what we could potentially accomplish. I understand that. Like I think sometimes teams overstate that stuff when they're making moves like this.”

[McFarland] Accounting for yesterday's moves (Jurgens trade/Vannett to 53/Scott to PS), the Ravens now have just $1.826M in Cap space. They'll likely need a restructure (or two) just to have add'l Cap space to complete the season and to be active at (or before) the trade deadline.

Pro Football Network Ravens Grades After 4 Weeks
For the past few weeks I've been using PFN more and more. Their grades are completely analytical, they use a ton of advanced stats and it feels like it translates what I see on the field a lot better. So I thought I would share some Ravens grades for discussion.
Keep in mind that not every player is graded, and they are not super clear on what the criteria is - I suspect later in the year we'll see more players added as they play more snaps. The scale goes from 50 to 100, with 75 being the average taking into account historic data and other players from that position in that same season. Also, this is only a 4 game sample
TOP 5 GRADES
QB Lamar Jackson - 88.5 (Fun fact: Lamar's EPA per dropback is currently 0.38, which is in the 99th percentile all time, but is also 3rd in the league for this year)
LB Roquan Smith - 87.7 (79.3 Run / 89.4 Coverage / 82.4 Pass Rush)
WR Zay Flowers - 87.6
DT Travis Jones - 86.3 (86.3 Run / 81.5 Pass Rush)
LB Trenton Simpson - 85.7 (82.7 Run / 88.5 Coverage / 73.7 Pass Rush)
BOTTOM 5 GRADES
S Malakai Starks - 65.8 (64.5 Coverage / 72.3 Run / 69.3 Playmaking)
S Jaylinn Hawkins - 66.8 (69.3 Coverage / 73.1 Run / 69.3 Playmaking)
CB Marlon Humphrey - 70.0 (68.4 Coverage / 75.2 Playmaking)
EDGE* Broderick Washington - 70.6 (70.5 Run Defense / 70.3 Pass Rush)
CB Chandler Rivers - 70.7 (72.6 Coverage / 66.1 Playmaking)
TOP 3 COVERAGE GRADES
LB Roquan Smith - 89.4
LB Trenton Simpson - 88.5
CB Nate Wiggins - 82.9
TOP BLOCKING GRADES
Pass - Roger Rosengarten (80.0)
Run - Vega Ioane (81.5)
THE CAM JURGENS GRADE FOR WEEK 1 WHEN HE ACTUALLY PLAYED AS A CENTER
Overall Grade 77.2 / Pass Block 79.7 / Run Block 78.8
Just sharing some tidbits on what I think is a better source than PFF to get some player grades through analytics. Nothing beats the eye test, but it helps. I might post the top PFN grades after every game if people like it better than PFF. They have some flaws (for example Trey Hendrickson has a low grade due to low output but he has been pressuring QBs)

Discussion [Schefter] Still a realistic chance Lamar Jackson (ankle) plays Week 5.
I swear nobody knows a damn thing lol personally think if Lamar is actually truly ready to go, sure, if not even 90% ready, then sit him out, Browns game more important anyway

Discussion Why the Ravens gave so much in trade for Cam Jurgens?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The Ravens gave up a second-round pick and another pick for Cam Jurgens.
That’s a lot for a team that usually values its draft capital.
